Did anyone else watch "Dead At 21"?

On his 20th birthday, Ed Bellamy makes a startling discovery: As part of a secret government project, scientists implanted microchips in his brain when he was a baby, boosting his intelligence level. Unfortunately, those microchips trigger intense, madness-inducing dreams as they break down, and none of the microchip recipients survives past the age of 21. Compounding his problems, Ed has been framed for murder by a corrupt agent, forcing him to flee with his friend Maria in a desperate bid to clear his name and find a cure for his condition.

You can definitely see we ascended from apes just looking at this dude

It always felt like I was one of the only to remember this show. I’ve never seen Jack Noseworthy in anything and not instantly thought of this show.

My BFF and I watched this every week. We knew it wasn't the greatest show but it became a routine.
AeonFluxIncapacitaor@reddit
I thought this was the coolest. Noseworthy shows up in Event Horizon and then seemingly disappears into the ether.
mutantbabysnort@reddit
I thought he looked familiar
BloodyRightNostril@reddit
He was also in U-571
DBE113301@reddit
Yes, and he was fantastic in that flick. When you can outshine Keitel and McConaughey, you've done a hell of a job.
fourofkeys@reddit
he's still acting. or, he was. imdb says he was in idle hands in '99, then he's in a bunch of stuff i don't recognize until law and order episodes appear. hasn't been in anything since '22, which is too bad because he's pretty cute as a middle aged dude.

Great show! IIRC Adam Scott was in it.

Oh hell yeah!!!
YogurtclosetDull2380@reddit
That mongoloid dude was always really hard to look at.
EternalMehFace@reddit
Yes! This one always felt like a most distant memory almost like I was making it up. Should've been more known.
NoWest597@reddit
I loved it and never got to see the last episode!
Equal-Affect-7487@reddit
It ended on a cliffhanger.
IIRC, Maria is killed, and the fates of Ed and the others like him are left ambiguous. Because there was no second season, one can certainly assume they were killed by "Heisenberg" (revealed to NOT be
the true one but rather an enemy agent or scientist) when they activated the link. Whip Hubley's antagonist agent character is wounded and seemingly shifting allegiances.
I could very easily be mistaken on parts of this as I only saw it once...and that was the night it aired, so we're talking decades ago.

Spoiler: it's in the title.
Sudden_Airport_7469@reddit
No. I don’t remember this at all.
No-Fox-1400@reddit
Edward Noseworthy. Can’t figure out how his family got that name

I was geeked to see mtv do an original show. Watched it, wasn't great. But felt cool to be marketed directly to.
jrunner02@reddit
Didn't MTV do a few original shows?
LordPizzaParty@reddit
They really tried to make Jack Noseworthy happen. Looks like he's had a solid career and is more of a theater guy but for a while there he was in everything and was probably the youngest "that guy" actor at the time.
Weirdly, I've never even heard of this and I was all about MTV from about 1992-1998. Huh.
MadamInsta@reddit
I thought it was Paul McCrane aka Dr. Robert Romano from ER.
Manck0@reddit
My only comment: He was behind me at the line to the Viper Room in LA in 200X and was like seriously just talking about this show.
_its_a_SWEATER_@reddit
And who plays Maria?
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
Loved this show! I was so shocked with the ending though.
For those who haven’t seen it, I’d say the closest modern show is Orphan Black.
VitalArtifice@reddit
I remember watching it and liking it at the time. Surprised that it never got a physical release and doesn’t seem to be available to stream either.
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
I downloaded the entire series from internet archive a few years ago. It lives on my plex server.
TheGhostofChuckPyle@reddit
I remember watching it with my older brother, but I couldn't tell you anything about it. Nothing about it stuck for me.
What I could tell you is that 12-year-old me was awfully pleased with himself when he recognized Jack Noseworthy in the video for the Bon Jovi song "Always" a few months after this show aired. I felt hella smart for that. (Though it took me until my late 20s to realize that Carla Gugino and Keri Russell were also in the video.)

This picture looks almost exactly like Lorenzo Lamas from Renegade

I absolutely loved this show, and knew no one else who had ever even heard of it.
L31121@reddit
Yes! Thought it was badass at the time.
JustACasualFan@reddit
Was Adam Scott in this?
Left_Maize816@reddit
I think I had all the episodes recorded on videocassette. I was sad when it ended
Eephusblue@reddit
Hey I remember this. I thought I imagined it
