The Social Rules

What were some of your parents' rules around socializing back in the day? Did your friend group have spoken or unspoken rules? A couple of mine... 1) One of my parents' rules was never ever invite yourself to stay for dinner or spend the night. You don't bring it up, ever. Wait to be invited. And when asking my own parents about a friend staying over, it was a no-no to ask them in front of the friend. 2) A friend group rule was that we never called each other before 10am in the summer lol. Summertime meant sleeping late and being home alone/roaming the neighborhood all day. Most of our parents left for work before we even woke up. I know the thing these days is to make sure your kids have a productive, enriching summer. And we sometimes did. But for the most part we were in the wind and it was wonderful.
