Who was better? Wonder woman Amazon's or xena Amazon's?

Amazons from Xena had way more depth and character to them. There was also different tribes with different motivations and outlooks and they didn't always coincide with each other. Which added a depth of realism. I can't recall if they were blessed with powers or not (I'm going with they were given some of the stuff they've done) but for the most part they felt real abd believable. They felt like people and not props. Where as WW Amazons from the movies had no real depth, distrusted and hated men because...well it's not really explained in the DCU. Sure, you would know if you read the comics but not everyone going to see the movies would know that.

One of the benefits of having a popular TV show where you have the time to establish groups and characters and establish their motivations and conflicts. Where as you are hard pressed to do that in a movie with a 2 hour time constraint.

Xena's definitely had better character development. I loved Ephiny and Melosa and thought Cyane was a badass. Even the annoying ones were at least developed characters (Amyrise)

I just can’t get on the Gal Gadot fan bus. Everything I’ve seen her in I thought her performances were just bad. And the few movies she’s a lead I’ve seen, I have to work to get through or can’t finish at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I still can't accept the fact that Varia beat Gabrielle in the fight, it doesn't make any sense.

Gabrielle has a lot more fighting experience than Varia.

Besides, Varia seems to be a super spoiled teenager, in the episode where they fight for Eve/Lívia's life.

I still think that Varia only won the fight, due to script issues, that they wanted Xena to fight with Varia from the beginning.

Better as in strength? Or better as in storytelling/lore?

For strength, wonder woman's amazons are their own little wonder women.

For lore reason, I much much prefer Xena's. The Amazons in Xena's world actually add to the high fantasy, they're not otherworldly, just tribal and strange because they live as nomads. Which to the larger civilization they come across as savages, however in Xena it adds depth.

The Amazons in wonder woman are sometimes strong and other times completely useless. They only ever appear for depending on whichever villains of the weak becomes a threat. After Ares (WW), what even is the point of the Amazon tribes? Are they protecting mankind or are they protecting their own? Their demigoddess status means nothing in a world full of superman and flash and green lanterns.

I agree, WW's amazons felt very disconnected from the stories that the main characters were going through, they were basically only there for the prologue, and then we never see them again. Whereas xena's amazons were more heavily involved with the action throughout every episode they appeared in. They were more vulnerable, and that made their strength and courage more admirable. Their culture was constantly at risk of being wiped out, so I found them more compelling because they felt more human and more relatable.

If we're talking Wonder Woman comics, Wonder Woman takes it. Those Amazons are scientifically advanced and have created literal Paradise for themselves.
