For anyone who grew up in the 90s/00s - what snack would you resurrect if you could?

Mine is 100% the Mars Delight - Cant lie, i feel a little emotional thinking about it..
tiptreetimes@reddit
Does anyone remember the coconut toffee crisp? It was epic but I feel like I dreamt it, no one I've ever met remembers it. It had a blue wrapper. My guess is, it was around in mid 90s.
3godef@reddit
Mars Delight Bars - absolute godsend
NoWayGetOut@reddit
Secret bars
Phd_life_@reddit
I also just put this
MarsKrispy@reddit
I just put this, no one seems to remember them
slippyr4@reddit
Absolutely this. A chocolate shredded wheat with chocolate gunge inside.
Ok_Shopping_3341@reddit
I never see Drifter bars mentioned in these. Caramel, wafer and chocolate in a perfect bar. They were my school tuck shop fave!
Phd_life_@reddit
I lived off drifters in school, I didn’t particularly like them though 🤣
TheAmazingSealo@reddit
100% underrated gem. Just found out they're gone from you. I amsad now.
Ok_Shopping_3341@reddit
Sorry to deliver such sad news 😖

YES.
I had a real craving for one a couple of years ago and was gutted to read that they're no longer a thing. RIP

I remember a chocolate bar called “secret” but it was only available for about a year. I remember liking it but enough to bring it back 🤷♀️
inide@reddit
Not really "a" snack, but Woolies Pick-a-mix.
Just_Curious_76@reddit
I mean…best days out ever were a Wimpy followed by a Woolies Pick-a-mix😂. I mean - dunno if they do them now. Remember there was like three sections: The boring adult sweets in wrappers, the kids jelly sweets (heaven) and then the fun size chocolate bars one. Shit all that bloody sugar though 😳Surely it can’t still be a thing??
inide@reddit
Woolies no longer exists.
Just_Curious_76@reddit
Oh yeah - absolutely. Though I do miss Woolies. My point was whether pick n mix still exists. Must be pretty much demonised by society by now.
inide@reddit
I know the big Tesco near me has it.
No more 1p/2p/5p/10p sweets though, you just choose a tub size to fill.
Chronically_Quirky@reddit
Banana Toffos.
I miss them.
Just_Curious_76@reddit
SHIT A BRICK!! Toffos…blast from the past indeed! I can literally taste the banana ones right now. Happy days. Wasn’t there packs of original flavour and then the mixed flavour packs? That’s it right there - I can still remember the strawberry ones, and maybe a weird coffee one or have I just made that up? 😆
Chronically_Quirky@reddit
Yes, I definitely remember the strawberry one. I can't remember the other flavours though, I'm thinking mint but maybe I'm confusing it with something else.
Just_Curious_76@reddit
Yep I was also thinking there might have been a mint one 🤔

Perfect pub crisps.
Miserable_Glove_4040@reddit
Yes!
Jayce1972@reddit
I remember discovering these at my local pub in the early 90s. No crisp has ever gone better with a pint!
fannyfox@reddit
They only sold this at a certain Forbuoys newsagent in a town near my village, and every time we went I begged my mum for a pack, succeeding about 50% of the time (an unusually high success rate).
What happened to them?
Head_Hacker@reddit
A person of exquisite taste, I see.
RegalRoseRed@reddit
American version of cheetos. Puffs or crunchy version. I have to get them shipped in from America. Very costly for what they are but so tasty. European version that are widely sold in the UK are awful.

Lupiefighter@reddit

With the original recipe. Before Kraft changed it.
TheAmazingSealo@reddit
Fuck Kraft so hard for that
Inside-Judgment6233@reddit
Can we also get the Fuse bar back please
Capable-Detective-69@reddit
yes PLEASE! I used to get a fuse bar and a coke from a vending machine at school and get change from a quid.
gadget_uk@reddit
Is that the little ones that came in a little red vending machine?
Lucifers_Angel_84@reddit
I had one of those as a kid! Doubled up as a 2p money box as you had to use 2ps to release them 😆
BG3restart@reddit
I'm old enough to remember when you could buy slim, individual bars of Cadbury's wrapped just in a piece of foil, no paper sleeve. I used to go to church once a month because I was in the Brownies. Mum would give me money for the collection. I'd donate half and spend half on a chocolate bar. (Late 60s/early 70s)
eatlego@reddit
I remember bars with animals on them.
LittlestLass@reddit
Yes, the recipe changes have made Cadburys worse, but I'd argue the moment the pieces stopped being so pointy that a cold bit could potentially injure your gums, was the start of the downfall.
It was so much nicer in rectangles.
Neffwood@reddit
This is the only one that counts. I think about og Cadbury often
alexmate84@reddit
Spiral was awesome and Echo
FoolishDancer@reddit
I wish Cadbury Roses had all their flavours from back in the day. Mmmm, coffee flavour.

FPRorNothing@reddit
I second this.

myblackandwhitecat@reddit
I must get some. My sense of taste has been so muted and dulled down since I had Covid in May, and so I need something with a strong taste.
-Londoneer-@reddit
This is an excellent tip. The internet is beautiful.
slippyr4@reddit
I remember years ago a discos promotion where some packs had an extra sachet of flavour powder in. I saved a few and put them all on one crisp. Couldn’t taste anything for days. Loved it.
Just_Curious_76@reddit
COMMENT OF THE WEEK 😆
HobbyQueen66@reddit
Pot Mash, sausage flavour. I tried to Google it to see what other flavours they did and AI accused me of making it up or misspelling pot noodle, lol, so clearly not one of their more popular efforts.
Also Terry's Moments chocolate, caramel and hazelnut bars with hexagonal segments. Loved them.
dickiebow@reddit
Ricicles (original) not the ones with the marshmallows.
NurseDiz@reddit
And all cereals that actually tasted nice! And the free gifts.

Literally just googled “Secret bars” as I couldn’t quite picture the packaging…and then this came up😂 “Secret bars, often called speakeasies, are hidden establishments that sell alcoholic beverages, typically accessed through hidden doors or with a secret password. They offer a hidden and exclusive experience, with some requiring a password to enter, a special panel to reveal a secret door, or a themed experience such as prison-themed bars where guests bring their own liquor.”

MadisonFox_@reddit (OP)
I genuinely thought I was the only one who thought the flavour had changed?!
VodkaMargarine@reddit
Cadbury's got bought by Kraft in 2010 who decided that using quality ingredients was expensive and they would make more profit if they simply made them out of cardboard and children's tears.
Active_Doubt_2393@reddit
Thin cardboard at that, you used to have to gnaw at a creme egg to get into it.

On a side note, I’d also look into ways to research how to prevent Jamie Oliver from ever entering the food business - 8 year old me was fuming when instead of a bacon sandwich after PE, I was offered a fuckin banana - no I’m STILL not over it 🤣
Fibro-Mite@reddit
Cadbury chocolate biscuits - the big square chocolate shortbread ones with the thick layer of milk chocolate all over them. Or, as I called them while playing World of Warcraft in the late noughties-early 20-teens, Mana Cookies.
Superspark76@reddit
Do you mean snack biscuits? If so you can still get them.
Fibro-Mite@reddit
No, those are much smaller, a plain shortbread biscuit inside, not a chocolate one, and have been around since at least the 1970s. The ones I’m thinking of were around 2-3” square and a good half to three quarter inch thick. Usually sold 9 to a package (full Cadbury purple pack), I think the chocolate coating was actually dairy milk, iirc. They were first circular and the chocolate coating was really thick, but after about a year, the shape changed to square and the coating got a bit thinner.
inide@reddit
Yeah thats Snack. There's like 3 different variations.
https://www.mancunianfoods.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/snack-bar.webp
Fibro-Mite@reddit
Yeah, "Snack" are the ones that have been around for ages. The ones I miss were only around for about a decade and when Cadbury were sold, they stopped making them.
Superspark76@reddit
And now I have to try these 😆
Maleficent-Leek2943@reddit
They stopped making those? Rude. I’ve been living outside the UK for years so hadn’t noticed, but those were great.
white_hart_2@reddit
I seem to recall this "stuff" which was a chocolate powder which you added water to, and left for a while.
