Green Vine Market, and downtown generally. It’s different on weekends vs weekdays, nights vs days so visit a few times to get the vibe. And do so on foot, not just driving around. (Parking is free and ample, map here https://share.google/images/kCHDh4rxfn4R4LKc3 ). This is festival season so come for the International Festival, RIP, and the Christmas event. Follow Plano Arts & Events and Downtown Plano Arts District on FB to stay updated on coming events. OK to park along neighborhood streets for big events as long as you regard any signs.

I love Green Vine! Great prices for things I would not expect to be affordable, especially for imported specialty foods. Tend to have great produce as well, plus an incredible bakery & little café. Try their coffee!

Go to rodeo Goat on Plano pkwy and Alma. Really good burgers!!

On Saturday, there's Beatles Night at Red Tail Pavilion

The trail is a great start. Enjoy the nicer weather, plenty of area to bike and jog. Open fields to walk or play with your dog if you have one.

Dogs must be on a six-foot leash at all times at Oak Point Park and you need to stay on the park's many trails. Neither of these rules are very conducive to "play with your dog."
The Bob Woodruff Dog Park just south of Oak Point Park (near Park and Shiloh) is really close nearby and would be a much better place to go play with your dog.

I saw 3 copperheads in a pile 2 days ago in Bob woodruff.
I got bit in 2016 in Oakpoint.
Watch out for em!

This part of town is otherwise quite boring, but you just moved next to one of the best city park systems in Texas, so go enjoy the outdoors!
Realistic-Pay-6931@reddit
If by boring, you must not be referring to all the cultural events:
Oak Point Park: The Plano Balloon Festival, Red Tail Pavilion concerts and events, Beatles night, Plano All American Fourth fireworks and parade, multiple Fun Runs and Turkey Trot, Plano Flags of Honor tribute, Go Ape Ropes Course (in addition to all the park trails, Geocaching, and Letterboxing in the area).
Downtown: Downtown concerts and events, Plano Water lantern festival, Okoberfest Beer diner, Art & Wine walks, Fall festival, Plano International Festival, Lunar New Year festival, Hip Hop Dance, Moon Viewing festival, "Come as You Are" festival, Rest in Plano Fest, Night Out Downtown dinner, Asian American Heritage Festival, Texas Forever Fest, Dickens in Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Apparition Expedition,
Plano Event Centre: Train shows, Hollydays Market, Neath the Wreath, Mineral and Fossil Show, Christian Prayer Breakfast, DFW Craft show, Expo Show...
And I'm sure I missed a lot in listing events that make this part of town spectacular.

I dunno I grew up on the east side, I love it -- especially all the green -- but generally don't think it's the most exciting place on a daily basis
LalalaSherpa@reddit
If you bike, Oak Point connects to 99% continuous paved multiuse trails all over DFW - literally all the way to White Rock Lake and downtown Dallas and as far west as Grand Prairie.

The Assembly Park Is finally opening some restaurants and stores, so be on the lookout. Try La Salsa Verde for birria tacos, Bavarian Grill for German food and live music on Fri/Sat, Mitsuwa Market and the surrounding places for Asian cuisine and shops. There’s an HEB nearby for your grocery needs, and the outlets in Allen and Watters Park for shopping. Downtown Plano is quaint and fun, with plenty of options to grab a bite or drinks. There are plenty events offered in the area, so you won’t be bored. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Oak Point.
After that you can go over to Mitsuwa for lunch in the small food court they have or the plaza it’s located in. A lot of good options there.
If you really wanted to earn the calories for lunch the trail leads from Oak Point directly to the plaza. It’s a nice nature walk but it is 3-4 miles.

Depends on what you're into!
Decent outdoorsy stuff available:
There's a lot of disc golf courses in some of the parks around Plano. Grey cheap way to get out and about for an hour or two
If you like walking but aren't looking for offraod trails you can check out Chisholm Trail. It starts at the Outback off 14th and 75 and meanders for about 5 miles north before you turn back. Runs through a lot of parks and neighborhoods. Really great for a long walk or bike ride on pavement
Rock climbing at Movement Plano is always fun, it's over by Coit and George Bush. Great place to meet new people as well
The spring creek nature preserve is a real fun place to walk around. The trails are mostly paved but through fairly dense trees. Dense enough it feels pretty cut off from the city at certain points
There's a lot of variety of food and restaurants around as well:
Mitsuwa marketplace by Chase Oaks is a neat little Japanese shopping market. There's a lot of other Asian restaurants around in that shopping center
The East Plano Islamic center off 14th has a few food trucks out during the evenings on certain day. I can't remember when but it's worth checking out if you're ever hungry and in that area
Jörgs Cafe Vienna in downtown Plano if you're feeling like Austrian/German food
There's a few shopping areas around that are nice to check out:
Watters Creek and the Shops at Legacy are good outdoor and walkable shopping centers. Firewheel in Garland is a good place as well
For malls you'd have to leave Plano but Stonebriar in Frisco or Grapevine Mills in Grapevine are fun malls to go to
Hopefully you find some of these helpful, and welcome to Plano!

Watters creek in Allen is close by and fun for evening hangouts

There is a decent trail network in that area. If you're into hiking or biking
