Yall can laugh but who cooks up the best ‘tisse? Went to Kroger a few weeks back and that chicken was gray like a foggy sky and tasted awful. Please provide the exact location/store if possible. Thanks yall

Whole Foods! Garlic Herb or Classic, they are so good!

This. Costco chickens are just big and cheap, not actually “good”.

Prefer Sam's

Yeah sams ones are actually good

Cowboy Chicken, only place I know that uses real wood.
Crashwaffle0@reddit
Last time I ate that place I got really sick.
Hola_amigo@reddit
I know this is popular but this chicken is terribly overrated. every time I eat it it's dry as hell.
normanboulder@reddit
I'd agree they have some times its been dry. But when its a good day, their chicken is unbeatable.

Best and cheapest: Costco. East or West Plano.

Our local walmart in the same county has them for $2.97 in various flavors, refrigerated, and $1.49 each when marked down. They aren't as big or juicy as Costco's, but a whole cooked chicken for $1.49 is a steal.

For real, just go to Costco. They’re big and cheap
johnsanders2@reddit
They are $5

Unpopular opinion here. Costco member for over 20 years, Sam’s member for only one. I now buy the rotisserie chicken only at Sam’s. Better flavor meat and skin.

Fiesta market does a great one.

Pollo Regio is damn good but expensive. Sam's Club is our go to for rotisserie though.

I had a terrible one from Tom thumb yesterday. ezero flavor.
I do like the traditional / savory flavor from Kroger. The orange package. The Custer and Parker location usually does it well.
If you're ok to spend a bit and want a full meal. El Polle Regio has great whole chicken meal.

I'm usually content with the ones I get from Kroger. I haven't gotten a gray one. I do typically shred the chicken for tacos or something, so I'm not having it plain. Midway and Frankford store.

We usually eat the legs and thighs immediately. The. Use the breast for tacos. Or for our dogs to help them stimulate their appetite
amosborn@reddit
Lol. My dog gets the dark meat.

I prefer Sam’s or central market for the smoked chickens. Sam’s has better seasoning and cooks them longer so the skin is crispy. The smoked chicken is the best flavor wise but $$

Cowboy Chicken is amazing! I’m still sad they left Allen. Sometimes I will stop in at the one on Lovers. There’s one in Murphy too.
El Pollo Loco is good too. Their cilantro dressing is excellent.
No idea why Kroger is so bad at cooking these. Had one tonight. Fortunately, some salt and pepper goes a long way toward making it salvageable. Thankfully, mine was not gray like yours. I have learned to ignore whatever flavor is listed on the packaging (like garlic, lemon, or original). They don’t appear to use enough seasoning for it to matter.

Cowboy chicken (there’s several locations) or pie tap at park and Preston are pretty good
