Anyone use 1p Mobile? Is it any good?

Afternoon all.
Leaving 02 after many years gone really down the drain now poor signal / even with signal slow at loading anything.
Anyone use 1p Mobile? What are people’s thoughts of it as EE looks to be very expensive to be honest. Thanks.

Not impressed at all! They have a connectivity problem, and I can't have internet outside the house. Unfortunately, they can't solve the problem as it seems. Thinking about switching to EE.
Perfect-Mechanic6331@reddit
Not sure that's true ? Anyway, if so, EE will be the same ...

I've been a happy customer of 1p Mobile until last week.
Whilst on holiday (UK) and using more data than usual, I was due to run out of data in my current 'boost' so purchased another on their website. This was charged for and showed on my account. This process in itself proved problematic as there is no app with 1p Mobile, you have to use the website and this has recently been down for the majority of the time.
The old boost subsequently expired, the new boost never took effect and I was left without any data at all, just voice and SMS. Less than ideal in 2026 and the first time in 30 years of owning a mobile phone that I've been left without service for an extended period of time.
I reached out to support and received a semi-automated, copy and paste or perhaps AI response saying that they had been experiencing issues with their website but everything was now fixed. It wasn't. I replied to support again explaining that I still had no data, had been forced to order an esim from a competitor as I couldn't survive without data and if they couldn't fix it I would have to port my number to the competitor and would be seeking a refund on the boost that has never worked. 1p Mobile's response.... "Thank you for letting us know, please contacting our team once your number has ported over to your new provider. " I was expecting a response saying that they were sorry, had investigated and fixed the issue, but it seems they just don't care.
A joke of a company, one that I will never use again and would urge other to consider carefully before they do.

I had similar issues, it was down to EE systems being down so put of 1p hands
SimonWWFC@reddit
Been with them 18 months now and no problems. Just moved to esim. All the benefits of EE but without the speed cap. I had unlimited for £25 but since then all the family have had unlimited sims on my account at £12.50 each. Monthly auto renews and can cancel anytime. Their customer service is good as well.

I've found 1p Mobile to be good.
I used them years ago when it was actually purely PAYG (useful for backup data for my router). Now they don't do that, and it's £10 every 60/120 days (depending on when you joined), or their bundles (fairly cheap).
The issue lies with their custom service. You won't get any response from them (I've tried, and am still waiting for a reply).
Both-South2216@reddit
3 Weeks in no issue, Been love it! Coming from o2 at less than half the price....
Dramatic-Ad909@reddit
I find 1p mobile is very good and reliable from a coverage perspective. However, monthly cost is not fixed. Basically, the more you use your phone (calls, data, etc...) the faster the money goes. I think 1p can be interesting if you do not rely much on data on a daily basis (using WiFi instead). If you are always connected using data, video streaming and similar... 1p is not for you. You will probably end up paying more than other alternatives with a fixed monthly price.
Forlorn-Gammon@reddit
Can you explain? If you get a SIM with unlimited texts and calls and e.g. 50gb data you should be fine...?
PeteTheKid@reddit
Confused by this. It’s £10 a month for 50gb, unlimited minutes and texts. Are many average users going over this allocation?
Radleech@reddit (OP)
Thanks all will go to 1p mobile. Can you port your number anytime after activation or does it have to be done when first activated?
heavymetalengineer@reddit
How have you gotten on? Thinking of jumping now my three contract is coming to an end
theforgedbeard@reddit
I left 3 network after repeated price increases and worsening signal where I lived. 1p mobile has been spot on since the switch. They even support esim which 3 didn't!
heavymetalengineer@reddit
I switched to iD mobile in the end. Only issue I’ve had so far is that phone calls wouldn’t work abroad. I need to sort that out
Radleech@reddit (OP)
Very glad I changed saving a good amount of money. The signal round my area is bad on all networks but I use WiFi / WiFi calling for home. Much Improved signal in areas where I work and visit good signal and solid download speeds so well worth it for me.
Hullfella@reddit
Did your number port easily? What time of day was it completed?
Radleech@reddit (OP)
Was done easily can choose a day to do it and was done around midday.
Hullfella@reddit
Thank you for the quick reply, I'll just take the sim and tool to work and swap it over if needed, I can barely barely load a web page on 02 at work, so I'm really looking forward to the switch over
daniscross@reddit
You can transfer numbers from most networks at any time (but obviously PAC codes only last 30 days).
theforgedbeard@reddit
I've been with 1p no since Feb '25. Absolutely no complaints. I can get faster Internet speeds on my phone when visiting my friend than they get on their broadband! Also have the added bonus of having won VIP tickets to British Superbikes in the summer, took my younger brother and we had an awesome weekend. They're one of the sponsors and really looked after us.

Just joined from EE being a 15 year customer was paying £11 monthly unlimted everything then my price started going up once it went over £14.50 I was like yeah not anymore they wanted to increase it to £17 in april so went with 1p and never looked back managing via 1p portal is so simple aswell definatley recommend plus the use ee network/infrustructure cant go wrong.
Ok-Sun-8754@reddit
I joined on Friday. I got the SM today and tried to activate. The website has been down since I first attempted and it's definitely not just me, as this is confirmed via website checker services and reports made by other customers on Trustpilot. It is hard to forgive a completely virtual mobile network, not having access to it's website - there was no advance warning. This is very disappointing news, after having read so many positive comments from other users.
Ok-Sun-8754@reddit
As shown on one site checker...
trek123@reddit
1p Mobile gives full access to EE network so is as good as a native EE plan at a fraction of the cost.
If it's bad, just leave, 1p is 1 month plans anyway.
niteninja1@reddit
do you get the full speeds?
e.g. im getting 800mb down on EE
Zestyclose-Rice6401@reddit
yes
stickiti@reddit
Image a full works SIM only and 1p SIM only. Both get 450down and 50up
Faistime@reddit
Just joined - from EE. EE were charging me more and capping my speeds at 100mb! In my speed test, I got 128mb with EE(capped I know) at £27p/m, and then 504mb with 1p at £10 P/m using the same network and, if anything, they have better customer service too. So why not?
juco_@reddit
You've convinced me. I'm with EE and they've increased their prices again, and equivalent plan is with capped speeds. I'll make the swap today
Faistime@reddit
Honestly, best decision I made for my family. 5 sims,. No contracts, no unexpected price raises and no caps whilst still using the same network only faster! Also get roaming thrown in.
I was also impressed with the website (there is no app though!). I was worried that having 5 sims would be confusing but you can just put the uses name in and manage them all easily in the dashboard. So far, very impressive.
nickmapson@reddit
To solve the app problem ive saved the website on the account page as an icon on iPhone homepage. So essentially works as an app.
AlfredLuan@reddit
No its terrible and ends up being VERY expensive. They also just deplete your balance without notification if you didn't use your phone or didn't topup within time which is about 8 weeks max. You are much better off with a pay-monthly SIM only deal.
Green_Entrance_2854@reddit
Your not using it correctly.
remendas@reddit
I use 1p and it’s great. It uses the EE network so you get the excellent coverage from them. It’s a bog standard provider so there aren’t any benefits or perks. The real benefit is using the EE network at a cheap price.
Jamie_TYV@reddit
Is it a strict 30 day plan, or do you pay to renew your plan every month on the same day?
Eg: if I subscribed on 1st Jan, would my plan auto renew on 31st Jan, 2nd March, 1st April, (30 day intervals) or 1st Feb, 1st Mar, 1st April (Same day each month)?
I ask as I am paid the same day each month and don’t want to miss a payment and end up without service for a day (or more)!

I highly recommend! I switched a few months ago and even share my referral for free £5 vouchers (for both is us) https://www.1pmobile.com/index.taf?friend=R439693S
jamestothet@reddit
I’ve been on it for a couple years now after leaving Vodafone and it’s been great tbh. I get EE level connection with them, never really had any major issue.
Crafty_Principle8092@reddit
I’ve got them and have 3 unlimited sims on their family sim deals. I pay £50 for 3 sims and the service is very good. At one point my partner had one sim and I had a three sim and almost every time where I didn’t have service on three she did. EE/1P is way better and defo worth it.
Transferring sims is also straightforward.
Crafty_Principle8092@reddit
With that said always see who gives you the best service in the areas you spend the most time. 3 mobile is good for some places and some aren’t EE is almost always going to have service but as someone said if it does not work get rid and try another as they would all be rolling. I’d also never recommend signing long term contracts as the providers who piggy back are always cheaper.
MHWatch@reddit
Kids, wife and I are all on 1p. No issues at all and roaming included, although capped to 14gb. We’re on the 50gb for £10 plan so good value too.
AGucciLemon@reddit
What do you mean capped to 14GB?
MHWatch@reddit
14gb roaming cap. You can add another boost if you run out though.
AGucciLemon@reddit
Oh nice! I’m changing to 1p mobile tomorrow from giffgaff as signal is awful
Repulsive_State_7399@reddit
Love 1p mobile. It allows WiFi enabled calls while using the EE network. I tried talk home which also uses EE, but no WiFi calls so people just couldn't call me at home with my terrible signal. Now have 6 accounts for all the family, no problems.
jkthms@reddit
I was considering the move from giffgaff as London signal is poor at times and my work phone on EE never has issues. It does seem that you can’t connect to the tube WiFi on 1p Mobile though, which is a deal breaker for me
Cannonpark@reddit
I love 1p. No hidden fees, great speeds and rising included for a great price
nebul8or@reddit
I’ve been using it for nearly a year, I’ve found it to be great. £10 for 50GB and EU Roaming. Wanted something on EE network. Highly suggest it!
daniscross@reddit
No problems at all. It's as close to real EE as you can get, at a fraction of the price.
