Even after all these years I'm still flummoxed as to why they chose to show such a depressing movie to kids in school, when it seems practically designed to instill the lesson that you shouldn't even bother to try to improve your life, because ultimately it just ends in pain and heartbreak. What's the logic behind it?
Honestly, pretty traumatising for young audiences.
And don't even get me started on Animals of Farthing Wood.
