Using wise fof social security direct deposit

Hi there. I moved out of the United States. Im using wise for various reasons. I set up social security to be direct deposited into wise. With my old bank I always got the deposit about 3 to 4 days early. My pay date is the 3rd of every month. Question is has anyone gotten their social security deposit early using wise, or is it always on the day social security has set up. I talked to Wise and they did not give a clear answer. Now im paranoid.

Hey, thank you so much — that really helps! I’m also abroad and planning to file for my Social Security, since i can't travel back to the us i was thinking to provide them with my wise infos , your experience is super valuable.
If you ever notice anything different (timing changes, delays, fees, issues, or improvements), I’d really appreciate if you could drop an update. Even small details help those of us trying to set this up while living overseas.
Thanks again — seriously helpful

I will say this. With my old bank I would usually get my deposit a few days early. With wise it is deposited on the day of it is supposed to be paid. Usually later in the day.

I'm in Thailand. I just switched my direct deposit to wise. This will be my payment from my VA benefits to wise. Normally I will get my funds 2-4 days earlier with Chime but they closed my account. May 1st is on a holiday, hopefully wise release the money on the 30th. What do think?

What hooodaybis May 1st? I know it's international worlers day but it's not a federal holiday.

Damn, its a Thai holiday, not a US Federal holiday. I think won't get my deposit until the 1st. I missed the early deposits.

You will get it on the 1st. It's only 2 more days. It should show by late afternoon the latest.

I was in the Army. now receiving 100% P&T VA benefits. Been living in Thailand almost 4 years. I was in Cambodia about 6 months.

Thank you so much!!!

Wait. I edited my comment. You will get it on the 2nd because of the time difference. You know when it's the 1st there it's the 2nd here. So Saturday it should be in wise.

Yes, I was just about to say the same thing.

Hey! I saw your earlier comment about switching your Social Security direct deposit to Wise. I’m also living abroad and planning to do the same, but I want to double-check something:
Are you currently receiving your Social Security payment directly into Wise without issues? – Did the first payment arrive on time? – Any delays, missing deposits, or verification problems? – Do you transfer it out immediately to your local bank?
Just trying to confirm the real-world experience from someone who already made the switch. Thanks a lot!.

No issues on my side either I live abroad and have gotten my ssa payments now 3 years running though wise

Yes no issues receiving the money deposited into wise. I then use remitly to transfer it into my local bank account. I use remitly becasue its cheaper than wise. Its really easy to to switch it.

Can you dm through here

Perhaps not directly related but i have 24 to 48 hr to get the transfer credited in Wise (non US bank to the WISE account).

according to federal law, social security direct deposit needs to be available by 9am of settlement date. i talked to wise again. They told me unlike other traditional banks, they are unable to see incoming ach batches. I guess my old bank was able to see it and released thd funds early. My concern is I just switched direct deposit to wise and dont want it screwed up and lost in cyber space.

I should have stated that I'm not a US person also. Personally, I don't consider it as a traditionnel bank Wise ( i forget the name before the rebrand) started as a money transfer/exchange service. I used it exclusively for this and as a spare atm card when I travel.
I did use them to transfer my funds when I relocated between countries but I did not keep large sum in it longer than i needed. I saw a few business days between transfer.

using it for direct deposit. then transfer it out to my local bank. the old way was transfer from my us bank to wise to my local bank. this cuts down on time and fees. I could have social security deposited into my local bank. However it would require me to mail a form from cambodia to the embassy in Manila. Dont trust that. sent 3 emails to the embassy in 6 weeks. never responded.
