Travel nanny for clinicals (nights off to enjoy)

How hard would it be to find a nanny to come with me to my clinical location in Houston four hours away for a weekend while I do my clinicals they stay with the kids when I come home, they can enjoy nightlife and travel around the city! I’ll get an Airbnb or something of the sorts. Something with two bedrooms if they want their privacy. Tell me I’m not crazy 🥲🥲🥲

Hi! I’d do it! If you are still looking for a nanny for this I’d love to chat 😊

Do you know any of your kids' friend's families well enough to ask if they can watch them over the weekend? Might be more fun for the kids and also let you focus on your clinicals.

You can probably find it but it will cost you a bit more than paying for a nanny who gets to go home at night. How old are your kids?

They can stay overnight I don’t mind at all! They are 6&7

Travel nannies are definitely a thing, but they aren't cheap.
Expect to pay $25 or so per hour, including travel time, plus $100-150 or so per overnight (assuming they do not have responsibilities for the child, otherwise it would be 24/7 hourly pay). They would of course need their own room, and you'd pay for all food and expenses.
You could also try to find someone in Houston but you'd be going in to it without meeting the person, unlike a local person you can (and should) have babysit a time or two before doing the travel thing.

Should I use care.com maybe?

Check out the Facebook Group Park Cities Babysitters club! Much better than care.com.

I'd try that, but be aware that it is just a list of candidates. They aren't vetted or screened past a very basic background check.
I've heard good things about Adventure Nannies. They specialize in travel nannies and through an agency, candidates are vetted already.

If you are planning to hire someone local, you could try contacting the UTD Callier Center. Graduate students in their speech-language pathology program will sometimes take nannying and babysitting jobs.

I read the title as “tranny nanny for clinicals” 😂😂😂🤨

I would third finding a nanny in Houston and ask if there's any body in the hospital system who might be able to recommend either a sitter they've used or a local service and then interview them by phone and or do a weekend trip sometime before your clinicals are.

Have you thought of trying to find a sitter/ nanny in Houston? That way you won’t have to pay them for travel.
I’ve had decent experience with care.com but I only use sitters who were reviewed. Are you going to be staying in the medical district?

Not hard at all, for the right price.
