OBGYN that delivers at Texas health Presbyterian

Please give your recs for OBs who deliver at Texas health! Female strongly preferred.
My current OB (Bellanger) delivers at medical city Plano and with all of the nurse drama going on I don’t want to deliver there anymore. I also had a miscarriage last week she did a horrible job preparing me for what my body would go through so want to find someone else asap.
I’ve heard great things about Marcia Taylor but she only is accepting new patients who are already pregnant. I also heard about Dr. Nedra Rice but her front desk was so off putting and difficult when I tried to make an appointment that I changed my mind.

Look at the providers at Northlake OBGyn Plano

Second this recommendation.

Any doctor in particular ?
MontazumasRevenge@reddit
Wife goes to Northlake. We would recommend Dr Portillo. She was amazing. Empathetic, understanding, didn't push or urge us to do anything we didn't want to do. Fantastic surgeon in the event you need to have a C-section.
SubstantialShift6046@reddit
Hello did she end up doing your wifes C section? Did you overall like the hospital experience, I think she delivers at texas health presby plano
MontazumasRevenge@reddit
Yes to all. She does deliver at Texas presby Plano. The hospital experience was great as well. We were there for 2 weeks due to complications and everyone except for Gail (the nurse we had to fire/get rid of) was amazing. You even get a steak dinner after delivery! It was a decent steak dinner. We were at the hospital so long that the cashier in the cafeteria was giving me an employee discount. Dr Farris - same practice - is good as well.
SubstantialShift6046@reddit
Thank u this helps. I really like Dr Portillo however, I am worried about the nurses being not so good at texas health presby,I am torn between Baylor Mckinney/Texas health presby plano
MontazumasRevenge@reddit
All the nurses were fantastic except Gail. Keep in mind if you get a nurse you don't like you can always ask the charge nurse for a different one. You are the customer. This is your experience. They are there to make it enjoyable and easy for you.
Do a hospital tour of both facilities if you haven't already. When we have our next baby, if we have our next baby , we are going back to the same hospital.
What makes you think the nurse is at Baylor McKinney will be any better?
SubstantialShift6046@reddit
Thank you for very detailed response, its just some of friends had very nice experience with the nurses at baylor mckinney and also the facilities looks more upscale lol

Dr. McClinktock.

Anyone in particular ? Dr portillos name sounds familiar maybe someone has brought her up to me before ?
MontazumasRevenge@reddit
As I mentioned on another comment, Dr portillo 100%!

Dr. Burt at OB/GYN North Dallas delivered my kids - all of my pregnancies were high risk and I’m an L&D nurse so I also had the nurse-curse factor. I trust him and his clinical judgement, and he’s just a great guy with excellent bedside manner.
I want to be fair and say that Med City Plano has some incredible L&D nurses. There is a systemic problem with HCA-owned facilities putting profit above safety, and doctors above nurses (doctors bring money, nurses are an expense). Nurses are the ones who are bedside, and need to have time to properly assess you and care for you. In L&D, we are particularly independent as we don’t call the doctor unless we are ready for delivery or there is something we are worried about. If your nurse is overloaded, things get missed. I live minutes away from this hospital and drive by it everyday on the way to my current hospital - no regrets giving myself a commute.
Potential-Fault5299@reddit
When you say HCA owned facilities do you know what facilities those are? I'm trying to choose a hospital to deliver at and medical city Plano was my top choice given their level 4 NICU and maternity care, and being voted best etc but now after reading they put profit over safety I CAN NOT deliver there. But I don't want to choose another hospital that's also like that. Can you specify which hospital you ultimately chose?
Apprehensive_Fun5337@reddit
Not a female, but I highly recommend Dr. Berry Fleming. His bedside manner is great and I have felt that because he’s a man he is more compassionate and empathetic than previous female OBs that I’ve had! His office staff, nurses, and ultrasound techs were always SO kind. It’s a small practice and I definitely was able to build relationships with everyone during my pregnancy
Remming1917@reddit
Dr. Yu Li delivered all my kids @ Plano Presby and is AMAZING!! Can't say enough good things.
Responsible-Humor318@reddit
What’s happening with the nurses? I’m supposed to give birth at Medical City Plano next month

Dr Vagisha Sharma delivered my baby at Plano Presby.
Historical_Gas_4104@reddit
I also had a horrible experience with Vagisha Sharma. She was the OB on call and made me feel like just another dollar sign not a first time mom. I wanted to let my labor progress naturally, I was 6 dilated. She pressured me into breaking my water because otherwise my labor “could last 36 hours” I agreed, later when my labor progressed quickly and my nurse was paging for her she was nowhere to be found. They had to page for another OB to deliver my daughter. My daughter got liquid in her lungs from the extra time she spent in the birth canal, ugh it makes me so upset that it could’ve been so much worse. When she finally came, minutes after to “help” deliver my placenta, she said “what happened, she wasn’t supposed to deliver until tomorrow morning” and my nurse was like “yeah I paged you. babies don’t wait.”
Do nooooot recommend.
a_me_@reddit
I had a horrible experience with Dr Sharma and I ended up in the ER with a massive infection because my postpartum concerns were ignored and dismissed till I ended up in the ER with a massive infection. Not sure if it's better, but her office always over scheduled people and sometimes we would be spilling into the hallway. I went with Dr. Stimage for my second pregnancy and my experience was so much better. She didn't over schedule us and my postpartum care was great and she promptly addressed my concerns.
FollowingNo4648@reddit
Im sorry to hear you had a bad experience with her. I can understand the overbooking thing, I've had that happen with her.
FelixMumuHex@reddit
Then why recommend her
selisec87@reddit
Dr Angela Watson is good but has a strong personality. She’s very blunt and if you can’t take that, she’s not your girl. She has literally no ability to not say exactly what she thinks - so you’ll know precisely what her clinical mindset is, if you need that level of info/reassurance.

Diana Luts is hands down the best OBGYN and she takes on non-pregnant patients. I kept her as my regular gyn after my births.
She delivers at Medical City Lewisville. I know you asked about a different hospital- but I cannot heap enough praise on MCL. Both births were incredible. One was an emergency delivery and while scary due to being an emergency, I never feared for my life or my child’s life. Recovery for both was incredible. The L&D unit there is just magic.
I had a miscarriage inbetween births and Dr. Luts was above and beyond caring and compassionate, as were her staff. Their support made a major difference to me.
Dr. Luts has an office in Flower Mound and another about a half mile behind MCL. She works with North Texas OBGYN & Associates.

Dr Bailey at Frisco OBGYN! She’s amazing and delivering mine here in two months! She’s actually been my OB since I was 15 lol
AvidReader86@reddit
Dr. Shaheen Jacob she is amazing. Delivered my 2nd at plano pres and it was a great experience. My care was top notch.

I see an obgyn at Northlake obgyn which is in the medical offices connected to Presby. I see Dr. Garner who is a male, but he is the absolute best. https://www.northlakeobgyn.com/garrett-h-garner-md-facog.php
April_May9389@reddit
I delivered with Dr. Taylor (and HIGHLY recommend her), but have also seen other providers from the same practice for various things and I would also recommend the practice as a whole (OB-GYN North Dallas). Before finding them I saw someone at Northlake OBGYN and both the provider and office staff were not very friendly at all.
So sorry to hear about your miscarriage ❤️
mail8313@reddit
I love Dr Taylor!!
RipApprehensive9314@reddit (OP)
I’ve heard very good things about her and called to make an appointment but she’s only taking on patients if you’re pregnant already
txback@reddit
Obgyn north Dallas dr Lee is great!
allzkittens@reddit
I believe Dr. Samuel Tyuluman still delivers at THR Dallas.
Cecilsan@reddit
I assume you're referring to TH Plano but my wife's OBGYN was Dr. Sooyeon Choi whos office is across from TH Dallas and also delivers at THD. We had twins who were born premature at 25 weeks 3 days due to sIUGR. Wife had to have an emergency c-section when suddenly she started bleeding. Dr. Choi did a great job.

Can you say more about nurse drama at Med City?
I have major surgery coming up there but still have time to change it.
RipApprehensive9314@reddit (OP)
The nurses are trying to start a union. There’s a whole thing on TikTok about it with former nurses who worked there saying how bad it is and encouraging current nurses to strike
BlazinAzn38@reddit
I think I remember seeing something that said Medical City has the highest profit margin in the metroplex and that's all the info I needed to stay far away
EnvironmentalLuck515@reddit
I used to work there. Wow. HCA will squash that hard.

Thank you for catching me up. 🙂

Vagisha Sharma at Women's First OBGYN. Her office is right behind Presby and she did a surgery for me at Presby. I after not used her for birthing, but she's been my OBGYN for 6 years and I love her. She has the best beside manner.

Dr Catherine Holt in Frisco
SimpleVegetable5715@reddit
Dr. Austin Dennard at Texas Health in Dallas is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I personally think it’s worth the drive to see her.
cienmontaditos@reddit
Ugh I loved Dr Rice so much but I really can’t recommend her anymore bc of the office staff. So sad
RipApprehensive9314@reddit (OP)
Literally so off putting 😭
Prince-Ali_@reddit
Dr Trylovich
RipApprehensive9314@reddit (OP)
Actually, I think I might have considered this doctor, but I don’t think they do deliveries. I might be wrong and will check again! Thank u!!
Salty_Interaction738@reddit
She’s my wife’s OBGYN and def delivered both our kids. She was great in my very limited dealings with her. But she came highly recommended.
Prince-Ali_@reddit
She definitely delivered my kids at Plano Presby, which also happens to be here her office is located
ArousedAsshole@reddit
Dr Tabor is great at OB-GYN North Dallas. She really took the time to listen to all of our concerns and fully explain everything during my wife’s pregnancy. We will absolutely be going back to her for our next baby.
RipApprehensive9314@reddit (OP)
I saw her great reviews too but then I saw one that said she missed someone’s pelvic cancer diagnosis that could have easily been diagnosed if the dr did a full pelvic exam. The lady ended up going to another OBGYN who quickly diagnosed her with cancer so that kinda freaked me out. I love and hate reviews idk
ArousedAsshole@reddit
Based on the care we got from her, I would be surprised if there wasn’t more to the story. We thought she was extremely thorough. People don’t go online very often to write good reviews and the ones that are mad enough to write bad reviews often embellish.
