What is the best salad dressing in the UK?

I've been trying to find a nice salad dressing or similar saucy type thing to put on salad, eggs, etc. Anyone got any recommendations? I've tried a few, but I find a lot of them too vinegary. Tried most available in tesco and a couple from Asda. Tesco french dressing was probably nicest.

Caesar gets my choice. But lots of ideas here:

3 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp white wine vinegar, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, 1/2 tsp salt, in a small jar, shake it like crazy

This man knows, if you’ve got garlic infused oil you can use then even better

I like to also add a bit of honey too

I like Caesar Dressing:
Grate the garlic and Parmesan, then whisk everything together.
Use as much as you like on salad.

3 parts good oil, 1 part acid, emulsifier, salt and pepper.
Basically doesn’t matter what the acid is, lemon, balsamic/white wine/red wine/cider vinegar.

Marks and Spencer’s have some very nice dressings in the fresh section. I particularly like the Green Goddess and Korean BBQ.

I often use balsamic vinegar on its own, or, as others have posted, I make my own. Olive oil, white wine or balsamic vinegar or lemon juice, honey. Sometimes add pul biber chilli flakes for a mild kick of heat
Not bought salad dressing in 20 years

I've used the mary berry salad dressing for years. It's based on a French dressing and there is a light version.

Get some good extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, don't need a lot more.

If you want shop bought then I’d have to be very predictable and say M&S. There’s a range in cute glass bottles like blue cheese, ranch, honey mustard etc for £2.50 that are really tasty.

Peri peri mayonnaise

I like a drizzle of olive oil and a drizzle of balsamic glaze (plus salt and pepper), which is very sweet and rich and doesn't have as much of the tang of normal vinegar.

Came here also to suggest OP makes their own! Then you can adjust the vinegar to your personal taste.
You can add chilli powder or whatever you want to the basic olive oil/vinegar/mustard mix; or miss out the mustard. Plain olive oil [good quality] is a delicious thing just on its own, on salads, eggs etc and just add salt and pepper to taste.

I’m the same with most shop dressings; way too vinegary. I usually stick to honey & mustard (Hellmann’s or Waitrose do decent ones) or something creamy like ranch/caesar. Salad Cream’s a bit old school but so good on eggs.
If you don’t mind mixing your own, oil + lemon + a bit of honey + Dijon is a game changer and way less sharp!

I was going to get salad cream last time I was in tesco. Haven't tried it in about 20 years. Ended up getting a pizza express dressing that wasn't that great. I'll give salad cream another shot. Cheers

I tried the pizza express dressing and I was quite disappointed! Salad cream is the OG in my house, my dad used to make egg mayo with salad cream which I never understood but absolutely loved 😂

You can add a bit of honey to counteract the vinegar taste. Sugar or cream would also work. 😊

I make my own usually with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and Dijon mustard. It’s nothing fancy but I really like it.

I was thinking of trying something simple like that
