How much would spend for your partner's birthday?

Depends on what we have planned rather than picking a number then working round that. Last year she was working in london up until her birthday so I extended the trip to a long weekend, so london hotel, west end show, touristy stuff like tower of london plus meals etc. That worked out fairly expensive! This year just went out for the day nearby, nice restaurant, but the much cheaper midweek set menu. Works both ways, couple of years back she surprised me with Blur tickets for Wembley, and also hotel right by the stadium (had some mobility issues at the time) which must have cost a bomb. But this year went to the coast nearby and had a (fancy!) picnic.
