I'm a system administrator, however my current role is at a small company with very little in terms of servers or networking. I'm looking to get back up to speed in the current environment, my current skillset is server 2008-2012, citrix, tape backup, end user support, on Prem Exchange with some 365 exchange support.
I don't know enough about networking so I figured I should start there, but not sure beyond studying for comptia Net+. I figure VMware is where most of the IT world is at in terms of virtualization so I might start studying that, if the community thinks it's worth it. I'm guessing I should look into Azure/AWS more, I spun up a server or two in both before but not much beyond that.
I want to be able to get a job somewhere that has current technology or industry standard practices. I've never worked under ITIL or strict SLA environments.
