Do kids still have house parties when their parents are out of town?

I think this younger generation still has parties sometimes, but not big parties like we used to have and not nearly as frequently. I have some nieces and one of them is a senior in high school and she's a very popular girl. I was just recently talking with my brother and sister in law about differences in our generations and this topic came up. They basically said that her and her friends don't really seem to party like we used to. They generally will just have a few friends over or a handful of them will go to a park or similar place and hang out in smaller close knit groups. When my brother and I were in high school there was a party almost every weekend somewhere, often at our house as well. It would usually consist of at least a few dozen to possibly 100+ kids. There was a ton of drinking and people would get very wild. That just does not seem to happen with their kids or those they go to school with. If it does, it's extremely rare. Also I don't think many kids these days drink like we used to in our youth (we used to drink A LOT). I'm assuming they probably just smoke/vape weed and/or possibly do some sort of other drugs? I'm honestly out of the loop and I have no idea what these kids are into these days. But from what I understand they tend to not be much into drinking, if at all. I believe I've also heard something about studies showing that drinking among younger people seems to be on a major decline.
