It’s disturbing to watch them sing it. Not sure if it’s the hairstyles or faces they make while singing, but goddamn half of these guys look like total creepers.

I like to lecture my kids about how back in MY DAY, Carmen San Diego was the VILLAIN.
I had the pleasure of seeing Rockapella live at my college in ~2001. They put on a great show, and did the Carmen Sandiego theme as their encore. The crowd, of course, was filled with students who had been prime viewing age for the show when it aired, and we went nuts when they did the theme song.
i became deeply obsessed at one point and prank called their landlines in new york city by looking them up in the nyc white pages at my local library and i heard Sean Altman's answering machine greeting
I wanted to be on that show so bad back in the day, I was a huge geography nerd. My room was covered wall and ceiling with maps from National Geographic. I used to get mad at the kids on the show for getting obvious answers wrong.
I liked to watch but never thought I could make it on the show. I was too busy trying to play grab ass instead of studying. It was fun to watch though.
I had a creative meeting with Howard Blumenthal in 2012. He worked in my building and he was interested in my ideas. I was in his office (my old office actually) and the first thing he asked me was to find a country in African on his glove. It was like Where in the World is Carmen San Diego IRL. This guy is the real deal. He cares about education through gamification and stories.
I’m from the New York area and since they filmed it in the city and then Queens the contestant search was done through middle schools in the area. We were given the test in social studies in the 6 grade (I think) and I scored really well on it. The producers then came to the school a few weeks later and had about 30 of us that scored high play games with them and be interviewed. I didn’t get selected but my neighbor was. He froze on tv and never rang in
