People who built a white PC, are you satisfied?

What do you wish you had done differently? do you have RBG on often?
GroundbreakingCow110@reddit
I like it. The rgbs turn the case any color.
I couldn't find a white mobo or graphics card, though, before tariffs started kicking in. Sort of mismatched for now.
sunsetMarrow42055@reddit
What motherboard do you have? Might sound random, especially because how long it has been, but I’m curious.
GroundbreakingCow110@reddit
Asrock x870e Nova wifi. The motherboard is black because... well, there were very few 870 class boards in white that weren't $700 plus.
Aesthetically, the lights are cool. Functionally, well, I lost a cpu on it. And either I have no luck with the silicon lottery, or the board itself is contributing to limited FCLK clockspeed, as it won't reliably past stress tests above 7400 mhz in 2 to 1 mode.
sunsetMarrow42055@reddit
If you don’t mind, can I see the pc? I’m looking into getting an ALL white build, but the motherboards are like $200 extra, is it worth it just going for a black and white build?
stpatr3k@reddit
Its not mismatched, its a panda build. Lols
DJKaotica@reddit
Oh I love that. I have a white/black build that I've seen people call the stormtrooper build but I don't think it really fits that asthetic.
Definitely calling mine the panda build going forward.
mysweetpink@reddit
yes i love it :P i have rgb, sometimes i use it, sometimes i don't. only thing is that dust is very visible, but i guess it just makes it easier to keep it clean lol
ur_momz_fav@reddit
I built in a storm trooper white case with the tempered glass and the rgb and while the color of the case doesn't bother me, I would have done basically everything else differently. The rgb irritates my eyes. The case is too big. The glass is unnecessarily fragile amd just makes it easier to see dust. Most of all, the case is just too big and takes up too much space on my desk.
The next time I build a machine, it will be a smaller form factor and no rgb. My advice would be to focus on quality materials and think about how you m8ght want to mount it under your desk or something in the future.
-Frozt@reddit
I think you have to do it right. When you build a PC you want to enjoy what you bought and feel satisfied looking at it.
White is seen as clean but if it’s on cheap parts with an overdone gamer look that shine fades fast and you won’t enjoy it in the long run.
Go with a minimal white case with wood or aluminum accents, something sleek with little to no branding. Pair it with a black or white motherboard and skip as much Asus, Aorus, Asrock branding as possible.
It’s really about contrasting colors. Black and white with a subtle figurine in the case or a single image that represents you. That way it stays clean and you can add touches later without drowning it in RGB or turning the inside of your PC into brand advertising.
NoFlex___Zone@reddit
Was following until the figurine part lol hard no
-Frozt@reddit
Personally not my thing, but it was just an example of keeping things clean and minimal but adding something symbolic. A statement piece “this is mine” not just another generic build.
fiestar88@reddit (OP)
Great tips, ty.
DrAdBrule@reddit
Many PCs, I've been using the same case for about 8 years, Fractal Define Mini C TG. The only light in my system is the word "Radeon", used to have full RGB and don't really miss it.
If I could go back in time about 3 years I'd have gone DDR5, but it's not a big deal. Gonna make this system last.
Ok-Paramedic-3564@reddit
I was just thinking the same thing about DDR5. Ah well.. we'll get em on the next build
Ok-Paramedic-3564@reddit
I have a glass panel case, some RGB and have front and rear fans. I also have fans on top (top mounted radiator). If my PC is on, the RGB is on. Doesnt bother me at all, i like the look.
laurakkimmm@reddit
Bad experience on my White Desktop case, some parts started yellowing like the areas where the sunlight from the windows would hit it.
Kr3wAffinity@reddit
Yes, nothing, yes, and front.
LLuk333@reddit
I have 2 white PCs I use regularly, both with rainbow vomit and allat, I’m very satisfied with the results.
Mary_Jane_999@reddit
The only real con is that you can see dust easier. But it's also kinda a pro. Meaning I'll clean it more.
techies137@reddit
I am happy finally - don't see dust anymore
AaronV02@reddit
love my white pc, it dosnt show dust as much and i use keep my rgb to white and red so it makes my dark components pop and add a bit of color
Cargillicus@reddit
More than happy, if you take care of the space you put it in by hoovering and dusting, it's great. Only RGB I have is white so it blends much more into a modern, clean setting.
Couldn't recommend more.
fiestar88@reddit (OP)
Do your ram sticks have RGB?
Cargillicus@reddit
The graphics card, the ram and the fans are all white RGB.
Old_Resident8050@reddit
Build a white NZXT H9 and replaced all the fans with RGB. Kept it months like all the RGB on till one day, deactivated all but the RAM's and Arctic Freezer's 3 lights.
MongooseProXC@reddit
I built a pink/white/RGB computer for my daughter. It came out amazing!
UOJaney@reddit
I love my white build. It’s about 2 years old now, and I would not have done anything differently. It looks so much better on my desk than it would if it were a big black box. Lights are always on. I use the Corsair iCue system and use the “mural” setting so the lights match what’s on my monitor. It’s awesome. 😀
DrShankensteinMD@reddit
Im in the middle of a build after a couple failed attempts with pre-builts. I wanted to do a black out build, will be going with either the H5 or H7 flow, so may add RGB fans in the bottom of the H7 and call it a day.
robb76264@reddit
Nothing love mine. Yes I have RGB.
Educational_Wash_662@reddit
yes it is very nice. quite conspicuous but I don’t use rgb. the metal doesn’t behave like other white things and doesnt get dirty.
MyStationIsAbandoned@reddit
i tried doing all black with no RGB, but that was a mistake. i couldn't see shit in there.
so i added some lights. it's not too obnoxious when it's just one color and not rainbow vomit nor animated light.
Definitely doing a white build next time, if there's next time with all these tariffs and other crap happening.
pacotac@reddit
Ah I was wondering about the dirty part, thank you.
blue9er@reddit
Like a dark car, black PCs should be harder to keep clean. White doesn’t show dust as easily. Counterintuitive? Yeh.
RTXEnabledViera@reddit
Extremely. I overpaid quite a bit for better components that are also white.
Maybe I should post the full build album for this.
fiestar88@reddit (OP)
Nice. What's the thing on top of the case?
RTXEnabledViera@reddit
The Wi-Fi antenna.
Gigabyte uses EZPlug so you don't even have to screw it in, it's just a plug at the top of the motherboard.
Rothgardius@reddit
Eh. I went too far last time. After spending $1k and living with it for a while, water cooling is not for me.
Replacing the fluid on a 5 year old system is just a chore now. If you have piles of cash maybe, but it’s such a hassle. I just want to play.
icyhotonmynuts@reddit
yes, love it. white fans, white motherboard, makes RGB ambient lighting effects more subtle. I have the "breathing" effect on , so it looks like im in a borg cube with the green glow emanating from behind the monitors. I was watching a lot of Voyager the weeks leading up to building my PC and I stuck with that theme. I don't really feel like changing it, it suits the rest of the aesthetics there.
Qwark28@reddit
I tried building my new PC with RGB, just to try it out.
I'm decently satisfied with white on white, if only for the visibility and the fact that it doesn't "stain" or look ridiculous. If white lights didn't look so good on it, I'd just turn them off.
Spud_1997@reddit
I mean your always going to be conscious of the dust. At least I can see when it gets bad.
torts56@reddit
My PC is white and looks great with RGB but I think I'll do a mini sleeper build when I upgrade. Just changes in taste IG.
tunnel-visionary@reddit
I wish my monitors were white, too.
hambrythinnywhinny@reddit
Fractal Design North white, metal side panel, no RGB. It’s beautiful, I don’t see any dust, and I would not do anything different.
Party-Astronaut6724@reddit
went with white but now with black and white - just white gets old fast.
MOTOM0102@reddit
Usually, it's more costly, but once you build it, that is it. What I didn't like was when I had to get the white graphic cards. Other than that, there are plenty of other parts that are white with good specs. One thing I didn't get was the monitor with white trim. I have my mouse, keyboard, bunch of stuff inside the case, the case, all of them are white.
SyntheticSpeech@reddit
Yes. Best looking PC color IMO.
bitwiz73@reddit
My white gaming PC is SWEEEEETER than candy!
cherrysteve2010@reddit
Wish i chose a case with more personality but i just have so few options
NewBuild2026@reddit
What case do you have?
Blacktip75@reddit
Only mild annoyance with myself was that the psu was a different white… not sure why I didn’t just get a better black psu as it is in a separate compartment and I can’t see the back.
Rgb on all the time, 2 140 rgb fans at the bottom for an under glow, 3 120’s on the side visible, 1 140 in the back visible and 2 in the top, all coupled but no flashy patterns just a very sublte pastel fade.
The 4k screen on the case was perhaps a bit much as I miss the extra port.
krut84@reddit
Took me about 2 weeks to permanently disable my rgb. It just ended up putting a bunch of glare on my screen
SoggyBagelBite@reddit
I've had white and black builds now for like my last 3-4 PCs, still not tired of it.
I do have lighting, but it's all set to white.
TheDodoBird@reddit
My wife and I have built two white computers. I love them. They look so crisp, clean, and sleek. The only RGB are the components that had RGB already installed.
Only_Fun_6321@reddit
White cases hit diffy even if you have some black components inside
Renekling@reddit
Yes, somewhat, I have RGB and the dust is very visible.... Next build probably going with all black, no RGB and maybe some wood accent like the fractal north or something, also I want a smaller case.
Nithingale@reddit
Exact same feeling here. I built it 2 years ago in an NZXT H9, so pretty big dual chamber case with RGB fans from NZXT as well. I ended up turning the RGB off because the fan blades turned yellow ish and the dust is quite visible in some places. Next will definitely be all black, no RGB.
Renekling@reddit
LMAO I turn off the RGB as well. Like white is a nice aesthetic and what not but man, when the RGB is on its been several months since cleaning. The dust makes it not look so great.
green_tea1701@reddit
I consider it a feature, not a bug. Reminds me to clean my system lol.
Nithingale@reddit
Yeah to be fair the white + RGB looks great when it's all clean but with my fan blades now a bit yellow it's not so great anymore. Plus I got an OLED monitor since then and I enjoy playing at night with all lights off to benefit from the perfect blacks so the RGB became an annoyance
The-Safety-Villain@reddit
My PC is turning 10 in December and going strong.
RagingBlue93@reddit
Very happy with it, set all my RGB to baby blue and leave it. Absolutely love the look of it. Now if I could have done something more with the cable management lol
Pieface0896@reddit
Yup i love mine. If you are concerned about peripheral’s not matching, its a non-issue. I have black peripherals mostly.
My gpu us a MSI SUPRIM so its grey rather than white. Nice little contrast.
As for rgb i use a mix of mint green and flowing white strips.
Fortunato_NC@reddit
I built my girlfriend a white PC and I thought it performed pretty well. My girlfriend said she was satisfied with it but I caught her gaming on my friend’s BBPC.
New_to_Warwick@reddit
I almost built one but decided to delay for the release of the RTX 50 Super and see if prices for any good cards come down
I wouldn't use RGB personally, i think its tacky and looking bad, i only use lights on my mouse and keyboards and its uni-color (and white at the moment), its nice to see them in the dark lol
Bribbe@reddit
Yes. I did white RGB too which looks way better than color. If I were to do anything different I would find a cabinet which also had some wood panels.
fiestar88@reddit (OP)
What are these white rbg fans called?
Icy_Aspect_6874@reddit
Yes of course I love it.
Durfael@reddit
yup, only thing is that i took a fractal design north, but should've waited for the XL version to release, and should've taken the glass pane one instead of the flow one, it's useless and the mesh panel is horrendous with its enormous T in the middle of it, and you can't really see the inside of the computer with the terrible mesh, and ofc those lazy ass fractal don't sell aftermarket parts i've tried everything they won't ship me one glass panel
WulfTheSaxon@reddit
Wow, I just checked their site, and yeah, all they sell are two tinted glass side panels, one for the Define 7 and Meshify 2 and another for the XL versions of those. That’s a major bummer.
stowg@reddit
Yes I have a white open case build that I love showing off. It currently has some black components (storm trooper vibe was the original plan) but I am upgrading to newer components in the coming sales.
Rgb is on only because I have hue lights and strip for the monitor to have an immersive experience when watching stuff, else it’s a show piece. Case is thermal take p3 Snow White
ieattastyrocks@reddit
I am. I would have bought a more powerful GPU at the time but I ended up liking the one I got, so I don't see myself upgrading for at least another year.
I don't like RGB so the only thing RGB I have are my memory sticks, which were not available without RGB when I bought them.
Overseerer-Vault-101@reddit
My head says "i only need one more part and it will be perfect" my heart says "a new cooler would be nice too, better make it a aio with vrm fan and rgb, better upgrade the psu then, 2 new ram sticks wouldn't hurt, a larger boot drive would be nice but if i do that i might aswell get a next gen one but that would mean a new board and then i might as well get a new chip, and if i do that a new gpu....." you get the picture.
teeger9@reddit
Yeah, I’m really happy with how the all-white build turned out I’m super satisfied with it. The only thing I wish I would’ve done differently is buying everything at once instead of piece by piece, but overall I love how it came together.
VersaceUpholstery@reddit
Yes, but after 10 years of building PCs you realize you’re wasting a bit of money with RGB and White parts depending which parts you buy
Money that could be used for actual better performance
AddressMeAsHal@reddit
No wish I went black. That’s what I get for trying to be different.
Sander001@reddit
I'm satisfied because my PC is in the dark basement so I can see it better. My only RGB is on the memory sticks and I don't know how [or if] they can be shut off 😅
yes126@reddit
Yes, espalecially after cleaning and dusting off all gans, it shines bright than ever
Spirited_Coyote_8925@reddit
Yes,very. i have a ton of rbg on it. i like it. its different than all the other pcs.
animusgeminus@reddit
Have a white square thermaltake mini-itx build.
RGB on color pulse.
It's in my computer desk on the bottom.
Looks great!
geemad7@reddit
I did once( not full just white parts ). I would love a full white one, i do not want the cleaning regiment to keep it white.
It looks awesome, but if you intend to use that build for a long time, expect to have a lot of cleaning to do.
frostyflakes1@reddit
Yes, I love it. I prefer front fans. My front fans have RGB that shows through the glass pane on the front. But I don't actually use the RGB that much. Sometimes I'll match it to the game I'm playing. Other times I'll just leave it on the rainbow setting.
Frosty-Analysis1520@reddit
I love my white PC, it has RBG but I always have it on soft white pulsing glow and the whole build is black/white with minimal colors. With white monitor speakers it kinda makes the gaming space look like a comfortable home office with accent lights, which has always been my preference.
shaoOOlin@reddit
My build was supposed to be with a black case but when i was buying parts they were taking forever to deliver so i switched to the same one but white. I dont hate the case but id rather had a black one because dust is easier to see to know when to clean it. The case fans in the front have green led lights so it looks nice. But my case is under the desk so i barely see it anyway
DevilsArms@reddit
I am satisfied. Tons of rgb. It looks great and id probably do it again.
galaxion@reddit
Not great when you're a smoker.
Fabulous-Local-1294@reddit
Built a white pc with all rgb fans for my daughter. Fits well with her otherwise mostly white furnished room. Rgb lights up the room in purple and pink. For the boys i built a black system with rgb, they have matching black desks too.
Personally, if i built one for myself it would be a black, windowless sound insulated system with no rgb. Wish they made more cases like that. Used to love the Lian-Li pc 71/75 cases back in the day with no windows.
IYKYK808@reddit
Yes. Only thing i would do diff is get a bigger case that can fit more fans.
marvinnation@reddit
Of course I am. I use purple on RGB.
birdman829@reddit
AP201 mATX case in white full mesh. RGB is usually just solid red or solid blue. Makes a nice subtle glow through the mesh. The case also lives on the floor so the mesh enclosure on the floor is much less conspicuous than a glass fish tank full of lights on my desk would be.
JatnielDZ@reddit
All White PC, no complaints. I don't live in a dusty environment so it doesn't get dirty often, just a quick blow every now and then.
19TheDarkKnight84@reddit
I built a white pc and wish I didn’t. Black with minor rgb looks better imo. After about 6 months, I really don’t care what it looks like though.
Hornyboii94@reddit
My pc fan noise is louder than I imagined :/
uucchhiihhaa@reddit
My dilemma was budget and form factor. Got a white micro ATX case and I love it. It’s got the basics right and has been working flawlessly.
sayayyjay@reddit
Love my white pc, instead of normal RGB I went with UV strips. Any part that has built in RGB I set to Purple to brighten the case up a touch more without ruining the effect.
SoloWingPixy88@reddit
No. I should have just got black. RGB hurt my eyes so I removed it.
Complete_Bad6937@reddit
I wish I had gotten less RGB. 12 months since I built and still haven’t found a way to sync everything together without using multiple programs, And some of my parts don’t get recognised by any programs. Lesson learned and the rainbow vomit still looks cool for now lol
triadwarfare@reddit
I haven't committed to an all white PC build. I bought a white Lian Li O11D but internals are black/dark grey because that's what is available. Some components and additional accessories come only in black.
I am not satisfied but I don't exactly have the budget to change that in this economy.
KishCore@reddit
the RGB vs non-RGB tax is basically negligible at this point, people talk like there is, but it's only if you get super expensive fans and strummers or whatever.
Meanwhile the white build tax is 100% real and does drive up the cost of a build a ton, especially the GPU. Luckily AMD tends to keep in stock more white GPUs than Nvidia.
Vayne_Solidor@reddit
Hell yes, I fucking love my PCs aesthetic! I debated a lot on whether or not it was worth the extra money at the time compared to black parts, but I've had that case and mobo for six? years now, no regrets 🙏
joeyretrotv@reddit
Yes. My next build will be a blackout build.
billykimber2@reddit
i dont wish i did something differently, im satisified with my white build, but as long as a build looks good it looks good you know, i wouldve been just as satisified with a black build as long as its as clean
and i never use rgb, only low brightness solid color
Zealousideal_Side987@reddit
Yep and shes gorgeous
Lucky_Comfortable835@reddit
Couldn’t find everything in white.
Ranel9@reddit
Yes. For me, The ambiance of white build is much better than an all black build.
Unlikely-Soft3800@reddit
just built a new pc few days ago and i'm pretty happy, i got those lian li infinity fans but i think a blackout pc would be good too specially in terms of saving some money for better performance
Dizzy_Break_2194@reddit
(https://imgur.com/a/2Jblf2l)
jaymz_sahn_derz@reddit
Gets the job done. Also the white parts were priced well when I was building. Open box case, mobo, and gpu came in clutch.
960be6dde311@reddit
I love my White build! Used a Corsair 3500X and a Thermalright White AIO. First time in 25+ years I've built a White system, and I could not be happier!
Diamond_Storm_Fox@reddit
Yes, I love the way it looks and the way it functions! It has a themed fan cover, a custom-painted tower, and four RGB fans set to pulse various shades of purple while it runs. It matches my cute white and purple gaming setup, and it can run all the games I'm interested in without any problems. I wish I gave it a bit more storage (a 2TB SSD doesn't go as far as I thought it would) but my motherboard has plenty of room to add more SSDs, so no big issue there.
DnAGyal@reddit
I love mine! It’s in my living space and goes better with the overall room. I can change the RBG lighting at a whim too to fit whatever aesthetic I want.
GP_222@reddit
Yes I love my white case. (Liam li A3 with wood panel) I don’t run RGB, I find it tacky/cheap.
Regular_Promise426@reddit
My PC is faced away from me, so I'm not super concerned about the components inside (they're a mix of black and Noctua brown). The case itself, however, is white (the Antec Flux Pro) and it blends in with my room fantastically. I don't just this ugly black box sitting in a corner thing, going on.
Dust isn't really a problem, and I don't use RGB at all.
PutADecentNameHere@reddit
Very.
If you plan to build white PC, use the one made out of steel or anything, but plastic otherwise plastic will change its color overtime.
fiestar88@reddit (OP)
Will do, ty.
proscriptus@reddit
Extremely. I really don't ever get tired of it.
RepulsiveSong2048@reddit
I have to clean the dust off of it every day but it’s great otherwise
noobshiet101@reddit
Really regret going customloop, change part for ITX really driving me nut rn
PurpleMTL@reddit
I built this for my girlfriend last year. She loves it more than she loves me. https://imgur.com/a/5S4hK2B
Not_goD_32@reddit
I had a white PC. I liked it. The RGB really illuminates the whole thing and looks really clean. Black cases can't match that look. That being said, I'm going with a black case on my upcoming build. The glass is tinted, and the fans have an RGB ring instead of the full blade. My aim is to make them look like they're floating in there. It's also nice not worrying about finding all white components for a decent price.
Cellist_Acceptable@reddit
I built one for the wife, and she loves it.
kokko693@reddit
I was satisfied but now I want more.
The problem is that it cost a bit too much money to add more stuff, it's not reasonable to have an over the top PC with my income. It works well for what it's worth currently
Ben_Kenobi_@reddit
I like my white build, and yeah I keep my rgb fans on rainbow or color shift and like them.
I started with all white parts besides GPU, but over time, I shifted to a more panda look because of one of those bundle microcenter deals where they throw in cheap ram and mobo for almost free with a new cpu.
rain-men@reddit
None. I just built my white Setup. It's RGB but I still chose white lights.
Username928351@reddit
I have a white Be Quiet Silent Base 802. It works fine, it's under my desk, out of sight.
SkirtRadiant3250@reddit
I wish I didn’t buy a prebuilt originally lol. I use rgb but have it set pretty dim because I like seeing my computer but not have it in my face.
Tech_support_Warrior@reddit
My current build isn't but my favorite PC build I ever had was a white and silver build.
I am not unhappy with any of my current builds because 99% of the time I am worried about performance not aesthetics, but I'd be lying if I said that white build wasn't eye candy.
gotthesauce22@reddit
I did white for a few years but slowly transitioned back to a darker setup. I liked how white looked aesthetically but I find darker colors to be more comfortable for office work and gaming
MarketsandMayhem@reddit
Yes and I've had the same case for 15+ years.
IsywEy@reddit
A full white build is nice. The only issue is that dust is more visible on some spots/parts.
Sharlinator@reddit
Fractal North with mesh. It’s lovely. No lights because computers aren’t supposed to glow.
DrNopeMD@reddit
Love my build. Got the Fractal North without the glass side panel and have no RGB. The wood front and white case matches the wood surface of my desk and the white frame below.
Just gives off really cozy vibes when I'm sitting and working on a nice sunny afternoon with the light coming in from the window nearby.
whomad1215@reddit
I have a fractal north xl with the mesh side
my mobo/ram/and gpu have very minimal rgb that I just leave alone
I have my case on the floor
Ok_University_5352@reddit
I have a white build. I'm very happy with it, which is funny too as I originally was going to build an all black pc. The GPU was actually about $60 cheaper for a white model than the cheapest black model, a white motherboard of the same chipset went on sale for $30 off, and everything else was the same price regardless of color. Only parts not in white are the PSU and cables, and my RAM kit, they are in black.
As for RGB, originally was going to have very little, but ordered fans from Thermalright that matched my AIO. So all 10 fans, Pump, GPU, and Motherboard (behind SSD heatsink under the GPU, not really visible) have RGB and are synced together. I use a slow fading style that smoothly transitions to the next color, which are brighter colors. Ultimately I love how it looks.
For regrets, nothing aesthetics-wise, I love it. I even like the little bit of black the RAM kit gives, though I might go white if I upgrade. GPU upgrade would be the main price concern to stay white.
nagarz@reddit
Yes, I'm satisfied with my white pc build. As for rgb I disabled all of them within the couple weeks after I finished the build.
It didn't really match the aesthetic I was going for, plus they got distracting rather quickly anyway.
AskingForAPallet@reddit
No RGB, just faint white light on top
I do wish I had more options for parts (outside US)
Had to settle for some slightly worse parts just to have it be white
Otherwise, pretty damn good feeling when you got the build you want
Round_Ad_6369@reddit
This is probably the tipping point for me, I would go for performance over anything
monokuma29@reddit
Yeah obviously
