Which of your cars has gotten the most attention that surprised you the most?

Over the last 10 years, I’ve had a variety of hot hatches and sporty cars. Veloster N, Focus St, Miata, etc.. Now I’m driving a Jeep Wrangler, which in my mind is not the most interesting of the cars I’ve had, but is getting by far the most compliments and interest. Curious on everyone’s experience!
BildoBaggens@reddit
96 viper gts. It's a classic now. Still under 20k miles, I'm the 2nd owner.
Shmokesshweed@reddit
I got a lot of attention from old men at Costco and Home Depot when the Maverick first came out.
Recent_Permit2653@reddit
I think it’s because they remember when full-size trucks weren’t actually much bigger (if at all) than a Maverick.
I worked at Valvoline years ago. I’d been away from working in vehicles for a while at that point, but was shocked that in the 6 or 8 years since I’d been installing batteries and stuff, how tall trucks had gotten. I mean, the cowl heights are really up there. It felt silly needing to get a step stool to get a good look under the hood of any 1500 2x4 pickup, when the approximately 12 billion 90-something C/K Chevys I’d put batteries into were almost car height. Ditto bed heights. Used to be able to almost reach over the sides and touch the bed floor. Now? I’m on tippy toes to get my elbows over the bed rails.
So, it’s probably that they subconsciously register the Maverick’s size as a size they are very familiar and comfortable with.
Mercurydriver@reddit
Same here! Old guys love the Maverick for whatever reason. I guess for some it’s a quasi-nostalgic throwback to their old Rangers they owned in the 90’s or 2000’s.
Incidentally, I actually went to Ford’s Cars and Coffee event at their HQ in Dearborn back in May. I was 1 of 2 Maverick owners in show and much like my daily travels, old guys really loved seeing my truck, despite the fact that it’s basically stock. My bed was still filled with my tools, work gear, and equipment that I never got around to unpacking before I left for Michigan. It was fun seeing my little baby truck get all of this attention alongside the badass Mustangs, Broncos, and classic Ford’s.
RabidBlackSquirrel@reddit
My beater 1999 Ranger gets, by far, the most attention of the fleet. I get several numbers left under the wiper every year with people wanting to buy it. I'd think the aircooled VW convertible or the neato w124 Mercedes wagon would be cooler to randos, but nope it's the little white beater Ranger.
It's a weird spec (4x4, long bed/regular cab, crank windows, rubber floors) and people just go crazy for it. I've thought about selling it for some of the wild offers I've received, but it's borderline unreplaceable.
bemenaker@reddit
Small trucks are great and would fit the need of most households. Trucks are too big and too expensive nowadays.
Mimical@reddit
Small trucks kick ass. I dream of the day we get a legit BoF sub 200" truck.
The_Strom784@reddit
My 76 year old uncle bought one new when they launched. He loves it since he still works as an electrician. He says it's the perfect size for job sites.
bugme143@reddit
I can definitely see that, especially if he has the hood over the bed. I have one for work, but I don't like it because I carry replacement parts for ATMs and I'm running out of space lol
star_trek_lover@reddit
It was def a big attention grabber when I first got mine as well. Now it blends in to traffic which I also don’t mind. Was fun while it lasted.
herefortime@reddit
Also here to confirm old men in Costco parking lots asking me “what’s that?” with the Maverick.
All pleasant interactions, typically an old timer who grew up with Fords
2Drogdar2Furious@reddit
My 300zx. Everywhere I stopped people asked about it or had a story about one. I had two of then. Favorite car I've ever owned and I really loved the T tops.
I'm in a miata now and I get compliments from children and woman and I get a lot of men calling me gay 😐
Revenge_Holocaust@reddit
Those men who call you gay for driving a Miata don’t realize they are saying more about themselves than they are about you.
2Drogdar2Furious@reddit
Its always lifted truck bros. I've taken to calling them pride trucks because that's how it starting to look lol.
Revenge_Holocaust@reddit
Mazda 3 Turbo. I get asked about the car, and the brand in general, from people in the market for a new car.
The only attention my Focus RS really gets is from kids yelling at me to rev it 😆
dc1999@reddit
People love a green Alfa Romeo.
Revenge_Holocaust@reddit
I know I do. Gorgeous car.

My ex-BIL owned a GTR and started to develop narcissism (like legitimately diagnosed, it’s why he’s an ex-BIL). I had a Fiesta ST.
I met him up at the gun range once. This hick dude tailgated me into the parking lot. He kept staring me down.
Me, ex-BIL, and hick dude starts walking into the gun range and hick dude goes “I really like your car” and my ex-BIL goes “thanks” but the hick dude was looking at me and said “I had one in the same color Fiesta, same Recaros, big turbo before it blew”.
It was such a funny moment to me.
TheDoodieMonster@reddit
My Fiesta ST was invisible and people who thought they knew what it was thought it was a Focus.
Revenge_Holocaust@reddit
Funny, my Focus RS is either confused for a non-Ford (one lady said she thought it was a Porsche…) or people think I modded a regular Focus.
sprchrgddc5@reddit
I always enjoyed passing other Fiesta ST owners as they were so enthusiastic to see another bean lol. One time I drove past one and the same color and we were all cheesing so bad.
But outside of that, you’re right. Someone called my FiST a Dodge Dart and I felt so offended.
ModHottle@reddit
ID.Buzz - I expected VW enthusiasts to react but was surprised how it gets attention from so many people. It is very common at an intersection, parking lot, or charging station for people ask questions, wave, and smile. It's an overwhelmingly positive response that makes driving every day a happy experience.

2003 Sonic Blue SVT Cobra. Turns heads everywhere I go.

I have an early 90's GMC Safari camper with the sort of livery and body lines vans and trucks used to have. Its a huge.co versatile starter. I've been approached tons of times by people asking me about it and complimenting me on it. Mostly people my age or older that had them in their family growing up
Umbra427@reddit
A few years ago I had two cars. A C6 Z06 as my daily, and a bright red cammed-out foxbody Mustang.
Nobody every said anything about the Z06 aside from car shows. A few women, I’m guessing urologists, were kind enough to inform me that my choice of vehicle likely meant I was extremely poorly endowed.
But the foxbody (which I still have) gets overwhelming thumbs up and “hell yea that thing is sweet!” Even some cops have pulled up next to me and commented that it “sounds mean.” I think everyone over the age of 35 either owned a foxbody or knew someone who did so it’s a unique kind of part of everyone’s past
argothewise@reddit
Why did those women think it was okay to say that? Imagine if a man went up to a woman with a Corvette and said you bought it because you’re fat or have small boobs
Dodgegirl360@reddit
I think the equal female version of that offense would be to tell the women that they were loose
Thoseguys_Nick@reddit
In all fairness, the size of one's bust is much easier to judge than the size of one's bulge
bugme143@reddit
True, but then you could say that they bought them and they look horrible.
Smykster@reddit
This is my experience as well, I have a C7 vette as a daily and a 91 Camaro with a good paint job and a big cow hood. Nobody says shit about the Corvette, everyone goes apeshit over the Camaro. All I tell people is that it was a $4000 car. If you like it, get one!
Bovaloe@reddit
I'd definitely have to ask about the cow on the hood
Smykster@reddit
lol. Was supposed to be “cowl” hood.
n0oneleftbehind@reddit
Agreed lol, nobody but Corvette people give af about the Corvette lol. I get more attention in my fuckin Sonoma than my Vette.
IronRevenge131@reddit
Which is bizarre to me. I guess it’s a stigma, but I don’t really know why. Corvettes are fucking cool man
n0oneleftbehind@reddit
I think it's because people still see them as this super expensive car they can never afford, yet they drive a 60k truck and my C5 cost 10k lol
Smykster@reddit
Yeah, I remember when I got my C5 a few years back, I go to work and everyone’s like “what did you win the lottery?”
I’m like dude the car was $15,000 and you drive a $75,000 truck.
ycnz@reddit
A bright yellow S2000 gets far more passive attention than I anticipated.
mayorLarry71@reddit
My Z32 or 4th gen 300zx. The car is simply exotic looking and Nissan nailed it with this car. It drew a lot of attention, had many questions asked about it and really turned heads.
ycnz@reddit
It was such a pretty cat. And so fucking expensive to keep fixing.
DroppingDimes247@reddit
My Gen2 Viper without a doubt! People love this thing!
steves_garage@reddit
I've had my mk4 Jetta wagon for 13 years across 3 different states. By and large no one has ever cared about it. I bought a 2000 V70 at the end of 2019 and people love it. I had 2 old men from Europe (I live in the US) tell me about one they had or their family member still owns back home. I had a guy flag me down getting off the highway to tell me how much he loved 'older Volvos'. Just last week a guy leaving the ice rink was pointing out my car to his kids. He asked the year, I told him 2000, and he knew it was the final year for the P80 gen. Then he got into an F30 3 series wagon.
I honestly figured an old Volvo wagon would fly under the radar, but it gets a lot of compliments.
Cool-Block-6451@reddit
In the 90s, it was my SVT Contour, strangely enough. There really wasn't much on the road like it.

Peugeot 505 in the US. It drew some many people from parts of the world where Peugeots are common.

Weirdly, my Honda PCX scooter gets a lot of attention. Could be people seeing me put a case of beer under the seat or seeing a 300lb 6'4" guy in a Hawaiian shirt riding it. Either way, I always get people coming up and asking about it every time I go to the gas station.

When I lived in Melbourne my 1987 VL Commodore would get lots of unwanted attention.
When I lived in Te Awamutu NZ it was my TC2500 triumph. Now I live in Wellington and people are super curious about my 2001 Fiat Punto mrk2 HGT.

I had a 2017 Tesla Model S. Well, I still have it...
But years ago, I used to get stopped at nearly every stop light. Kids would run and point, people would ask about it nearly everywhere I went.
Now it's "just a Tesla". Still get some compliments and I had a little kid run and point just the other day (I have a fairly nice looking tint+trim+wheels sort of setup).
But even though it's a beat up 9 year old car with 140k miles, it'll still take the pants off any Lambo made.
CaterpillarUsed3222@reddit
My 1991 Toyota mr2 turbo, I had for 9 years and people would always say say something nice about it. It was a very fun car and I thought it looked great. Unfortunately, the turbo quit at 330k in 2011 and was going to cost a lot to fix, I probably should have kept it. Now I drive Toyota hybrid Venza, which is a really wonderful car, but not as fun to drive.
One_Swimming6755@reddit
My 1991 Honda Civic DX sedan. I thought guys were joking when they got excited about it. Unfortunately it was totaled about a year and a half ago. Best car I’ve had. Sure do miss it.

Definitely my 1981 Jeep Scrambler CJ-8. It gets tons of comments, and notes on the windshield asking if I want to sell it.

Ladies seem to like to talk about the Miata. Young boys would always approach me in my MKIV Supra, usually wanting some type of illegal display.
cpxchewy@reddit
Can confirm. The only lady that’s ever come up to me to talk about a car was when I owned a RF Miata. Every other car I’ve owned attracts dudes.
susy_is_a_pussy@reddit
The perks of living in California include owning an ND2 RF and never getting a single compliment in the good couple years I've had it. Everyone is just so used to insane stuff here.
Not even a thumbs up...
Viperlite@reddit
Had a couple of very young kids and their Moms standing around my Miata when I came out of the library this afternoon. One girl couldn’t believe it how small it was, yet could fit its roof inside, have a working trunk (I was stowing some books), and could fit my 6’4” self inside. The Moms got a laugh out of that.

Middle aged women probably make up the largest single demographic of people who ask me something about my car, outside of like cars and coffee type events. They all want to know what the snorkel is.
the_mouse_backwards@reddit
People of all ages and backgrounds would tell me they loved my NA but I recently got an ND and the attention is much less.
I think the NA is just a very unintimidating and cute car so people feel free to compliment it but the newer one is less approachable. Still gets more compliments than any car I’d owned before but nothing compared to the NA
Nephroidofdoom@reddit
The pop-up headlights give it a lot of character and charm. Although it’s nearly identical in size to my old NB, it somehow looks smaller.

Oddly enough, I had an old 70 beetle that I painted at Maaco and put some Herbie the love bug decals on it. People were constantly asking if they could take photos and I even invited a few to sit in it if they liked.

I lived in South Beach for a while, so there is certainly no shortage of wild, exotic cars there. But I got a ton of attention, people taking pictures, thumbs up, waves, pointing and all that in my bright red 1994 Corvette. I mean it was pretty clean, but it was over 20 years old at the time and I paid 10 grand for it. My theory is that it had the 80s/90s Miami look that people know, and foreign tourists liked that.

I ain't racing any fucking losers in their 500 dollar Honda or KIA Koupe, the only reason it's important to them or you is cuz I got the car you can't afford and want, the speed of my car has nothing to do with my self worth, I can throw away 30k for something slow, IDGAF if 2 car lengths makes your pp hard.
For the record I have an actual fast car, I also don't race people in that either, I'm fuckin commuting here.

Before I got a Kia Stinger I could not imagine anyone coming up to ask questions about a regular car. I understand if someone has an exotic car that you don't see everyday, but who cares about a car you can see several of on a daily basis.
For whatever reason the Stinger got a lot of attention, usually questions about what it is and who makes it. They loved the Ceramic Silver color. Confusion on Kia having a sport sedan at all. Even had some police ask about it the day I had the windows tinted, for a second I was concerned they had an issue with the tint level. They asked me if it went fast and I responded that "it goes 0 to the speed limit very fast" and they chucked at that. (My wife would never have believed me if she wasn't with me)

I have two cars which both surprise me with the attention they get: -Lincoln LS: despite being a forgotten 20 year old sedan, to this day I get compliments on it both from people who know cars (hey that’s a cool Lincoln) and even those who don’t (wow this is such a nice car!). They can’t believe it when I show them it has a cassette deck.
-torch red Terminator Mustang convertible: I honestly expected to be embarrassed to drive around in something so showy, but have been pleasantly surprised at how positively the general public react to it. Even have women come up to check me out (as opposed to the car) with some regularity who otherwise would definitely not be.

I'm surprised at how many people are interested in my Elantra N. I remember the first week I showed up with it at work, people were wondering whose car it was. Once word got out that it was my car, a lot of people complimented me on it. I've taken it around a lot of places where people look at it and compliment it, even when I was washing my car. About the only attention I don't tend to get is from other Hyundai N owners; seems like the only people that care about Elantra Ns in that circle are other manual EN drivers.
I thought my Saab 9-5 would get some eyes, but no, that car is as boring as it gets in Alabama, apparently.
Top-Woodpecker-1390@reddit
That's awesome to hear! The Elantra N definitely stands out with its sporty design and performance, so it's no surprise people are drawn to it. It's funny how some cars just fly under the radar while others get all the attention, like your Saab. Maybe it's all about the vibe of the car and the crowd you’re around!
ChuckFinley_is4Ever@reddit
What color is your EN?
handymanshandle@reddit
Intense Blue, which is a big part of why I find the attention weird.
KyledKat@reddit
I was genuinely surprised at how often people would come up to me to chat when I had my C7 Corvette. I’d had a couple of Camaro SS’s that went well under the radar apparently, but so many folks would come talk to me about my car, Corvettes they had, or some Corvette owned by someone they knew.
Never felt that popular again after I got my M240i.
TheDoodieMonster@reddit
Which one do you like more? I’m thinking of either a C7 z51 or a newer m240i xdrive
Trollygag@reddit
I have a C7 and had a '16 M235i (same car as theirs, but with the N55 instead of the B58). The C7 is a lot more fun because of the low position, monster torque, and mid-front engine layout.
I also daily it, find it supremely comfortable, and find I get harassed a lot less in it. Some of this might be an age/weight thing if the other guy has back problems in a C7.
KyledKat@reddit
As a daily, the M240i was much better. More compliant suspension, better seats, better NVH handling, and enough power to still have fun (especially after a Stage 1 tune).
As a weekend toy, the C7 takes the cake though. I just couldn’t make it work in my situation because the seats would kill my lower back after an hour and the lower seating position made the mirrors eye level with headlights.
TheDoodieMonster@reddit
Good to know! I love the c7 but I’m leaning more towards a 23/24 M240. I drive my FL5 for work and the NVH is sorta getting to me. I’d loved to experience a V8 but I don’t even get to use all the HP in my Type R so it might be an overkill.

My 3/4 Yukon XL got a lot of comments. Usually from guys who used to work for “uh, the State Department” who recalled riding around in them in less than friendly parts of the world.
Also apparently they’re the old money car for the Mountain West, the way a Land Cruiser or a real low mile Wagoneer might be at Martha’s Vineyard. It got a surprising amount of respect in mountain resort towns that I never got in a regular pickup or in much newer, nicer SUVs.

My Porsche - Guards red convertible. The moment that sticks out in my mind is when I was driving by the statehouse a busload of volleyball girls from some quasi rural county saw me at the stop light - the only time in my life I have ever been cat called. It was strange and 20+ years ago I would have reveled in it.
That car is like a magnet for teens who are just getting into cars. They all assume it’s a 911. Some times I offer to show them the engine. The easy joke is to pop up the hood, sorry not right there, pop the trunk, sort it right there. Then show them the mid engine.

I haven't owned that many cars, let alone notable ones, but within an hour of owning my MGB and taking it out for a spin I had people taking photos of as I went past on country lanes. Very surprising as they're not super uncommon in the UK, and mine is not the best example.
I drove it through London the other day and so many people look and point at it, especially kids. Amusingly I was driving it to a car event and got sandwiched between two hot rods, which very abruptly signaled the end of any attention and ego boosting for that day!

Back in 2006 I parted ways with my '02 Sahara and ordered a JK Sahara Unlimited - '07 was the first year for the 4 door Wrangler (also, the last Jeep I owned). I had so many people slowing down and speeding up n traffic to check it out and then wave or give me a thumbs up. I'd also catch people in store parking lots, looking in the windows and walking around it, just checking it out. I came out of a hardware store once to find a couple order guys looking it over - the one guy looked in the passenger side window and said to the other guy, "It's a stick!" And then the other guy had to look in - they both smiled and nodded in approval. The attention wained over the following year but it was fun while it lasted.

A couple guys swung around from the other side of a gas station to stop and have a look.

S2000. I figured it would get some looks, but I can’t drive it anywhere without comments from both guys and girls. Kids think it’s some exotic car. Adults yell, honk, wave, and take pictures. I was on a mountain run and in the small touristy town there, a girl walking on the sidewalk stood there, mouth agape, and recorded me (the car) as I drive by. At my first Cars and Coffee type meet, I opened the hood to show the supercharger and it drew a crowd all day.
I never expected a Honda to get that level of attention. My ‘01 Prelude gets the same type of responses, just less frequently and always from dudes. I suppose the folks in NE GA don’t see these too often. Honestly the Prelude is the “rarer” of the two; I’ve only seen one or two others since I bought mine last year.

My S2K got a little attention, but mostly from ratty civic, evo, and rsx owners who wanted to race on the street ( idiots ).
Unfortunately the attention I get for my WRX is from broke vaperz and I feel like most of them are looking to steal it.
I think the W20 MR2T got attention where I live because there just weren’t any seen here before I moved here. Funniest one was when I was at chick fil a waiting for my order and some old dude came up to my window and kept talking about my car how he likes it. My 2025 BMW M2. I got this car because I love the performance and styling despite all the criticism it gets for being “ugly” especially compared to its predecessor. Online hate from the bimmer community has been about as expected, with comments ranging from “only a mother could love” to “it’s not the most offensive current BMW but it’s still ugly.”
However, in stark contrast, driving around in public, I have never gotten so many compliments. Granted, people aren’t going to come up to me just to tell me how ugly my car is.
So I guess the question is, what world do we really live in? Online, where people have no qualms about being rude and condescending to faceless names? Or out in the real world, where people actually try to be civil to each other because we can see there is a person behind that name.
Ironically, though, it does seem like the lack of empathy online is flooding out into the real world. People don’t seem to care about each other anymore. Courtesy and civility is seen as a weakness instead of a sign of maturity and composure.
Personally, everyone speaking their mind with no empathy or control is a horrible state of existence. Our humanity is how we choose to compose ourselves instead of being weak and succumbing to our most basic instincts.
So if you’ve come up to me and give me a compliment, thank you for your selflessness and kindness in making the world a little bit better. You’ve made a friend today.
If you come up to me and talk shit, then you can eat shit. I don’t want to know what you really think, because, frankly, I don’t value the opinion of someone who lacks self-control and I question your motive.

I genuinely have not received a single comment on it outside of my immediate friend group (who got to hear me go on and on about PWs for years before I got one). That said it does kind of occur to me... mine doesn't have the typical PW "POWER WAGON" branding anywhere. Its a Lunar Edition. Besides the winch and a bit of lift there's not much of a giveaway.
Its also about to be my shortest ownership period ever. Not that its bad a been truck, I just don't need its unique set of features and I need well... a legitimate work beater truck with greater payload. The Bronco is doing daily duties and I'm going to pick up a overland trailer for camping.

My Accord seems to look like a far more expensive car to some people. I guess accord coupes just aren't that common? Idk.
MJather@reddit
I got my girlfriend basically because she liked my 240z (and also likes me thankfully), so that was surprising.
Overall I didn't expect the Z to get as much attention as it does. I can hardly drive it without somebody saying something.
Total-Composer2261@reddit
My best friend rolled his 1972 240Z, not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected out the side window. That was 1990, and we were fresh out of high school. My friend lived, kept the keychain that came with the car, and we remained friends.
When I bought my 370Z, he gave me the keychain, replete with the DATSUN logo on it. It's on my kitchen counter now, 53 years old, same age as me.
I do love the 240. Cheers.
Mercurydriver@reddit
I have a friend that used to own a 240Z. It was even featured in Regular Car Reviews a few years ago.
It is certainly an attention grabber. He’s even won awards at car shows for “Most Unique Car” or “Best Import” because it’s such a rarity. The 240Z is a beautiful car nonetheless.

Kei truck (Honda Acty). 50x more attention than any other car I've owned. I'm not sure a supercar would get as much attention. If I go to a gas station there is a nearly 100% chance that someone will ask me about it or marvel at it.
kicker58@reddit
My electric cargo bike has gotten way more attention than any car I have owned.
Specialist-Size9368@reddit
Morgan 3 Wheeler attracts old ladies like no tomorrow. Granted it attracts everyone. So many waves from strangers. You don't get out without someone stopping to ask about it.
Viper? Mondial? Miata? Fiatta? 914? Middle aged men magnet.

Hands down my gen 1 Honda Insight
idespisemyhondacrv@reddit
I’ve got a QPV, and occasionally someone asks if it’s an Aston Martin, and then j get to enthusiastically tell them it’s a Maserati

Suzuki X-90 is the first car I've had that girls actually like.
RuinedGrave@reddit
My 2018 Toyota 86. So many people stared as I drove by in that, and it got a lot of attention when it was parked or in drive-throughs.
It also had a lot of people asking if it was “the new Celica”, or if it was a Supra.
WorldWideUgly69@reddit
In 2005 I bought a brand new Scion XB (1st Gen). Surprisingly got many positive comments on it for the first 5 years from people of all ages.
kilroy-was-here-2543@reddit
My jeep gets quite a few comments, although mostly from people who know what it is.
The Volvo 240 I drove in high school got comments from everyone. And unbeknownst to me apparently a ton of people at my high school recognized me just off the 240. Wish my parents still had it, it was such a fun car
lolwhatmufflers@reddit
Surprisingly, got a lot of attention on my 05 Altima SE-R. Was just different enough that people were curious.
Runner up goes to my Tor Red Challenger SRT8, mostly old men wanting to talk about it.
cat_prophecy@reddit
I thought girls would think my Firebird was cool, but it was just old dudes that were interested.
MysticMarbles@reddit
My lifted Micra turned heads and people asked to take selfish with it all the time.
My 1977 Dodge Aspen Wagon was a hit amongst Xennials, specifically.
My WRX takes third place, people always wanna race on the highway. It's.... not a fast car.
My JK was more of a global hit though. I will agree with you, Jeeps turn heads and I have no idea why. It was a pretty mild build.
nachobox@reddit
I used to drive a 1984 FJ60 Landcruiser and a 2019 Bullitt Mustang. Almost every gas station trip (I made a lot) got attention. The FJ60 definitely got more attention though.
406highlander@reddit
My 2002 Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, in Scarlet Red, turned a lot of heads. Man, I miss that car.

Audi Q5 TDI
I get comments when filling it up with diesel from truck bros probably 20% of the time shocked it’s a diesel
Heavy_Gap_5047@reddit
The attention my Centurion gets has surprised me some. I'd hoped it wouldn't get attention, I don't like it.
Quackcook@reddit
My mom always told me, if you can’t afford the best, invest in the most unique.
I drove a ‘66 Thunderbird in the early eighties-lots of comments. In the mid eighties I drove a ‘74 Bronco with a pickup cab-more comments and waves than any other car I have owned. For the next 40 years I drove very nice company pickups, but not many comments other than, “Nice truck”. Now I drive a new Bronco and get lots of comments and waves.
Habitualflagellant14@reddit
Just to excersize it I'll occasionally drive my 1995 Geo Tracker LSI 4WD with a black aftermark hardtop that usually I only tow behind my RV. All the young hunters here want to buy it. It cracks me up because it is kinda a rolling POS.
bearded_dragon_34@reddit
A damn 2014 Lincoln MKS. I guess because it was glitzy and big and an unlikely car for a 24-year-old to be driving (this was in 2017).
Evil_Hank_Scorpio@reddit
‘12 Jeep Wrangler. Mildly modified, bright orange.
About 1/4 of the time getting gas, someone will start a conversation or I’ll get a “nice jeep.” I enjoy shooting the shit about cars so it’s welcome.
SaintTastyTaint@reddit
My 2011 BMW 335xi M Sport sedan gets attention from other BMWs or wannabe subaru ricers that want to race (so exhausting) but overall my Outback Wilderness with the Toyo cross country LTs and full skid plates gets a significant amount of looks / attention in traffic because nobody expects a station wagon to look like that.
spicy-mayo@reddit
2008 Mini Clubman. I was amazed how many people stopped to talk to me about it.
Callaway1352@reddit
I went from a 1997 Regal GS, to a 2014 Chevy Malibu turbo, to a 2018 Sierra, to a 2016 Mercedes CLA45 AMG Orange Art Edition. You tell me which one you think gets the most attention lmao.
gimpwiz@reddit
The buick of course.

I did have an intake and ZZP stage 1 PCM so it would scream😂

My F87 M2. This was in Germany, so your average person tends to be a little more tuned into cars (it least this is what I found from living there for a few years). Where in the US, the only people who'd approach me about one of my cars were car enthusiasts, in Germany it'd be enthusiasts less so and moreso regular people. So many times I'd enter a gas station and the clerk would ask "How many PS?!".. even my 70+ year old neighbor would ask that, and when I told him he didn't even believe it.
rudbri93@reddit
Around town i get a lot of compliments/'what is that's for my maverick by random people.
Draxx_them-sklounst@reddit
Most attention I ever got: yellow Smart car
Second most: A90 Supra
Can’t predict what will get attention, I guess
CaliDude75@reddit
Definitely my ‘83 Buick Regal wagon.
alaskin_pipeline@reddit
My Bronco with the top off and doors off in the summer time. I get so many compliments by both men and women & have even been asked for rides or if people can take pics with it. My GRC on the other hand gets no attention unless it’s people who know what it is
FreshStartLiving@reddit
Constantly complimented on my '22 midnight edition Trail Boss with the 6.2. Only thing I've done to it is replaced the stock POS Duratracs with beefier 33's. I will admit, it's a sexy looking truck but here in TX, trucks are a dime a'dozen.
nealomg@reddit
By far my 1997 Miata that I owned a couple of years ago. I still regret selling it even though it was too small for me. I loved that car.
thumpetto007@reddit
Gen1 Honda insight. I've had HUNDREDS of people come up to me and talk about the car. Its pretty sweet. I had race prepped subarus, a baby blue metallic miata with original hardtop and 20k in mods...
Even when I roll through a car meet, I get tons of people congratulating me and liking the car. Its wild how excited people get over the little spaceship
I mean, I love it, and think its really cool, but I've wanted one ever since they came out. (had this one for almost 8 years now)
reddit_beats_college@reddit
I had a 1992 S-10. It was two-toned, red in the top and bottom, and white down the center. It was an old man’s truck, and kept up immaculately. I put a set of knock-off corvette wheels with beauty rings on it, and a chrome tail pipe. I couldn’t stop for gas without an old man with Jean shorts and a cell-phone clip asking me about it…
BWFTW@reddit
I get more attention in the fd then I thought. When I got it it was a little rough and I got some attention but not much. Now it's in much better condition, still not perfect, but better. And I feel like every other time I drive it someone wants to talk about it. It's been pretty fun so far honestly, since all the interactions have been with super nice people. I am also surprised by the the amount of people who have said it's their dream car. I think its nice to, since it attracts people who are more real petrol heads rather then people who are more clout chasers / wealth chaser, if that makes sense.

1966 Mercedes 230SL.
Also an extraordinary amount of attention for a red 1996 Jag XJ6 I rented once.

My STI gets a surprising amount of attention, it IS built, but it looks stock outside.
Over 10 years owning it, I've seen countless people just taking pictures, and approaching to ask about it.
Even found pictures online taken by strangers.
DopamineQuest@reddit
My current one gets a lot, like 100x more than my previous s550 5.0s lol
