Which is important when trying to move to a new place for starting family and school?

Is it one of these or all of these or a priority list order. Can you help in letting know your priority from the list below IF you were to move to another city or town? Just orders the numbers according to your pref.
- Primary school results
- Primary school kids ethnicity(for having friends)
- Better councils or just better area (irrespective of the council)
- Secondary school results
- % of pupil moving from primary going to Secondary school (to maintain friendships)
- Family and friends nearby (or is it not necessary)
- Greenspace, noise, pollution, flood chances nearby
- Crime rate in the area vs crime rate in the council
- Anything else that I might have missed

My non-negotiables would be quality of schools (results, facilities, wider provision), safety locally and in the wider area, greenery and amenities nearby (some shops, cafes, activities for kids)
Choosing on ethnicity sounds a bit racist unless we’re talking 95% vs 5% as you’d feel like a fish out of water.
Family and friends nearby sound great but 5 or 45 mins away is still good (unless you’re hoping for regular help with school pick ups).
Another fairly important one could be public transport so that teens can get around and you don’t need to ferry them all the time.

Thank you for sharing your views. Sorry about the confusion ethnicity, it was more of looking at the positive side of having a diverse population vs going to an all white school.

We live in London and really appreciate the diversity. I find it broadens our children’s horizons.

Lower number of English as a second language. That is incredibly disruptive to learning.

Family and friends depends if they be support or not
You can have family on your door step and they never help
Or family hour away who more then happy drive to you and help you out

We moved to new area when we were looking at having family
Safety was main one. To many time we had to go past police tape to get home.
Schools was next. Most where in special measure where we were

i'd prioritise rent costs, opportunities for academic growth for children (sixth forms, and potentially uni's), general quality of public transportation and public services (though the latter can be hard to get a grasp on).

Primary school ethnicity.
Can’t anything be nice anymore?
