Spent a week exploring around the Montana Wyoming border.

Saw lots of wildlife like deer, elk, pronghorn, big horn sheep, bison had a sow bear with a cub show up at camp one night in the beartooth mountains while making carnitas for dinner. Did some rockhounding and checked out some caves. A wind storm in Wyoming pulled all the stakes anchoring the awning and slammed it into me and the trailer right as I was about to put it away and bent the heck out of it, scratched up the trailer and gave me some bruises, could’ve been way worse though. Overall was a great trip. 500 pictures 1,200 miles and 52,000 feet of elevation gain.

I’ve definitely had the wind kick up right as I was deciding to take my awning down. Whipped it over the van and bent the hell out of the arms. I ordered a few extra arms to replace them and carry a spare

That’s a good idea to carry a spare. I bent them straight enough to finish the trip but I’ll get a spare when I order the replacements.

Is that an ARB awning? I have never seen the middle supports on one.
Rolling_Heavy@reddit (OP)
Yes but I made those supports myself so that’s probably why.

4th gen for the win

Things a freakin beast. With just a mild lift and good tires it’s unbelievably capable.

A fellow Sherpa Trailer owner! Though mine is the Expedition trailer that I just put my RTT on.

We love ours, it fits our needs almost perfectly. Probably going to switch out the ball hitch for an articulated hitch and redo the suspension over the winter so I can do some harder trails next year.

Love it! You’ve inspired me to get back to that area. 👍
