You're driving a bus. You have armored vehicle escorts.
There's another bus that doesn't care about your bus 8 miles from you that went straight when they were supposed to turn left.
That's how serious this was.

Is there an article or a clip that is longer than 20 seconds?

There was none. It’s a non-event that’s only making the news because it involved Air Force 1. Spirit pilot missed a couple of radio calls, controller got frustrated and called the pilot out on it. Arguably unprofessionally and there is a chance the controller shortening the callsign to Spirit 1300 instead of Spirit Wings 1300 might not have helped. There is a lot of other chatter for other aircraft on frequency so we keep half an ear out for our callsign and kind of subconsciously tune out the rest. This means the first syllable doesn’t register but the second one and the numbers do. If that second syllable isn’t there, I could see why the calls got missed. A spirit pilot would have to chime in though as to how often they get called spirit vs spirit wings.
Anyway, once the spirit pilots heard their instructions they complied with it. It was an ordinary radar heading/traffic advisory that happens every day. And calls get missed everyday because we often have to split our attention between the radio and what’s going on inside the flight deck.

Thank you for the additional context, that was much more informative than the video

yeah that air force pilot is kind of an ass. You dont insult another pilot on frequency like that, especially just for not instantly responding to you.

That was ATC not the other pilot.

"keep an eye out for me, im blue and white" do you think atc is giving out riddles or something? The one on the radio was AF1

“Keep an eye out for me, white and blue”
I read that as an ATC saying, “hey keep an eye out for me, watch out for the white and blue plane”
Especially since I don’t see a scenario where a plane would be giving directions to another plane, that would be coming from the tower

yeah you're right, i think misinterpreted the conversation. AF-1 has actually done this kind of thing in the past though but i think im going to delete my comments

Shouldn't have deleted, cus now it's hard to know what the discussion was about?
