those golden stuff are, um, homemade hashbrowns?
Phenergan_boy@reddit
You eating dogfood over there? Wtf
wildOldcheesecake@reddit
They literally do. And then wonder why they hate British food. Yet if we make their slip and use one ingredient incorrectly or whatever, they fully die
Ok_Yesterday_1896@reddit
I mean when you take away all the Italian, Mexican & German foods they don’t really have much ‘American’ foods, their bbq stuff is good though I’ll give them that
Phenergan_boy@reddit
America and Canada don’t really have it’s own ‘food’ tbh, we destroyed most of the native cultures so nothing get passed down
Ok_Yesterday_1896@reddit
Yeah, poutine looks nice though
wildOldcheesecake@reddit
See I’m absolutely happy to give them credit for BBQ because it does slap. Though Brazilian bbq is better imo. Anyhow, We give credit where it’s due but they absolutely refuse to reciprocate this back. It’s all fuelled by xenophobia tbh.
There was once a funny interaction on the cooking sub wherein the American was absolutely shitting on a comment about British meals. The OP asked what the American thought of Irish food. The American said they loved Irish food and everything they ate there. Commenter revealed he was from Donegal LOL.
Ok_Yesterday_1896@reddit
I’ve not seen much of Brazilian bbq so can’t really give my opinion. And yeah I don’t really get it because they are all English people ethnicity wise just have different accents, so they are shitting on their ancestors food, and they didn’t even come up with anything new over all this time lol. They even somehow ruined the gravy idk how.

Thank you for trying, please listen to the comments

Did you microwave a fucking tea???
greenbastard1591@reddit

I dare you to post this in r/fryup. You'll get a proper roasting. 😆

Tugging-swgoh@reddit

Black pudding is the typical name so I am curious
COYSBannedagain@reddit
I’m in the UK, never heard of it being called blood sausage only heard black pudding
RominRonin@reddit
And fried slice and bubble and squeak and a big cuppa T
Delicious-Cut-7911@reddit
Hashbrowns are American. Don't recognise those weird sausages. Beans are good. On the whole not British
Cainjake@reddit
Wrong sausages entirely
Astral_Enigma@reddit
What the fuck is in that mug? Did you fucking microwave milk? What is wrong with you people?
1: Teabag in a mug. Sugar/sweetener optional.
2: Boil the fucking kettle.
3: Pour boiling water into the mug.
4: Wait. WAIT. 3-5mins average but some daft bastards like to take the teabag out as soon as the water is poured. These people are a blight on our culture and are generally hunted for sport.
5: Remove teabag, splash of milk, stir.
6: That's it.
7: If you so much as think about a microwave during this process, twelve drunk football hooligans will spontaneously manifest in your kitchen and beat the shit out of you.

I see no beer

Yeah, first of all, you should've written this in an Indian or paki accent. Then we can talk about the rest of it.

giyomu@reddit
Non blood pudding, no mushrooms, no toasted bread, no sausage I mean come on man 😭
Ser_Crow@reddit
Why do you call it Blood Pudding? Its like your intentionally trying to make it unappetising as possible
giyomu@reddit
Black pudding then but in the end it's made with (not only of course) blood and it's yummy try if you have the opportunity!
ohcookacat@reddit
I’ve actually wondered how similar they are, I’ve only had black pudding, one of my favourite foods, I don’t give a shit it’s blood lol we defo eat worse stuff without knowing daily, have you tried both perchance?
giyomu@reddit
it's the same thing, just a different name (right?)
ohcookacat@reddit
Honestly probably but there’s always subtle difference to suit local pallets, like in Scotland there are oats in it, there doesn’t tend to be in English black pudding
Green-Dragon-14@reddit
Have you had the horse shoe Black pudding? You boil it & eat. Its great with a black pepper sauce.
ohcookacat@reddit
I have not, I’ll be on the lookout for sure, good looking out!

Tbf I’m British and I don’t have black pudding, I don’t think many British people actually have black pudding tbh when having a full fry up.
nickmasonsdrumstick@reddit
Its black pudding over here.
wonky-hex@reddit
Yes. You're doing it wrong. If you're ever in Yorkshire, hmu for a proper full English
RatherGoodDog@reddit
Is that a mug of porridge?
moobsahoy@reddit
** cries in British **
However, we thank you for your attempt
Rush31@reddit
Missing a lot of things.
For starters, you’re missing bacon; this traditionally should be back bacon, but I prefer streaky bacon (your regular bacon across the pond). You’re also missing proper sausages - thick bangers with herbs and pepper laced throughout them. To be honest, I’m not really sure you do them like that in the US.
You’re also missing a fried egg, toast (or fried bread), mushrooms, and tomatoes. If you can get good beef tomatoes, then a grilled slice or two of that, but I have no issues with using tinned peeled plum tomatoes if you can’t. Black pudding is optional as not everyone likes it. It’s a blood sausage where blood is mixed with flour and pepper, then boiled - it’s then usually cut into rounds and fried to give a nice crust. Personally, black pudding completes a full English for me, but that’s preference.
The hash browns don’t exactly belong, but I’m not particularly anal about it, especially given that you’ve made them from scratch. They look really nice! The beans need the sauce reduced, but as long as you’ve got the less sweet tomato-based ones you’re just fine!
Sidewalk_Tomato@reddit
All the "Full English" breakfasts I've seen also involve tomato wedges or slices (grilled, fried or fresh) and fried mushrooms and toast to help serve the previous two items. "Black pudding" is also seen, but less so than it used to be.
Something's up with your sausage. If bacon would be easier, do that.
Your homemade hashbrowns are a cool departure, and I'd love to have one. Better than freezer potato cakes as the British sometimes do (which have their place), or the oil slick of under-seasoned shreds dished up by diners.
I've seen pictures of slightly modernized Full English breakfasts made with cherry tomatoes and different cooking methods used for the mushrooms and potatoes.
blubbery-blumpkin@reddit
What the hell is a freezer potato cake? We don’t do that. Hash browns, or north of the border a tattie scone are acceptable. Sometimes a bit of bubble and squeak, whatever leftovers you might have to use to make them.
And it shouldn’t be if bacon is easier do that, it should be bacon is essential so do both. The sausages do seem weird though.
The tomatoes are never just fresh or raw, they are normally grilled.
The rest of the comment I agree with. Although you neglect to mention the lack of any egg. Normally fried, but poached or scrambled will do nicely too.
Big_Prinz_@reddit
Are those giant baked beans or tiny sausages?
Heuristicrat@reddit
If you were aiming for a full English, I'm not sure you're 1/4 of the way there.
blubbery-blumpkin@reddit
This plate makes me uncomfortable, and if I was served it, well then I’d tut disapprovingly before eating it with a stiff upper lip and moving on about my day.
AppUnwrapper1@reddit
What’s in the mug? Why does it look like rice pudding?
Vast-Establishment50@reddit
Less flavor would be helpful.
Flattie-Ratty@reddit
oh dear..
SpinMeADog@reddit
forget the food, why are you drinking a mug of microwaved cum?
