6 is already past the return window
Big-War-7218@reddit
Don’t blame it on the kid u eat to
Papaj-Chan@reddit
For some reason this looks like it has the potential to taste good
UnarmedSnail@reddit
Your kid is developing a fine tuned sense of funk.
Needs some Swiss cheese on there.
Banana_Stanley@reddit
How did a 6 year old discover that this is a combo they like
denvercasey@reddit
I think one way flavor combos come together is by taking a bite of a tuna sandwich, then a bite of a peanut butter and honey sandwich. Realizing the residual flavors go well for you, and then saying “I should put it all together.”
At its simplest it is like coming up with the perfect thanksgiving day bite of food. In the US we all eat most of the same stuff and you realize when food touches, the gravy and stuffing along with some turkey might be pleasing. So you experiment. Maybe try a little potato and corn, or turkey and cranberry sauce. Then you make a leftover sandwich with turkey, gravy, stuffing and cranberries because it’s all right there.
There was a shitty documentary in the late 90’s called friends which featured such a sandwich, dubbed the moist maker.
cheslyn_d102018@reddit
My partners son eats mustard and peanut butter sandwiches. We don’t know how he discovered it either.
Wakkit1988@reddit
Honey + Mustard = Good
Peanut Butter + Honey = Good
Mustard + Peanut Butter = ?????
Kamelasa@reddit
halfway to spicy peanut sauce
magicpie5@reddit
I've put honey roasted peanut butter and spicy kimchi on a burger. Could have used some gochujang to really bring it home
milkbonestheluminous@reddit
Ngl I’m bout to fuck with this tmw
tunachilimac@reddit
I loved that when I was a kid too! I never heard of anyone else doing it. If I remember correctly I just thought it was be funny to do mustard instead of jelly and then actually liked it.
KORZILLA-is-me@reddit
I once replaced the peanut butter of a pb&j with a slice of American processed cheese for probably similar reasons when I was really little. My reaction was extremely opposite.
tunachilimac@reddit
Try a grilled cheese and jelly
katycolleenj@reddit
This combo slaps.
I've also done 2 fried eggs on toast with cheese and some jelly. Delightful!
Myka_Rok@reddit
Sometimes I'll make a regular turkey & cheese sammich but stick an over-easy egg in the middle
the_inbetween_me@reddit
Grilled turkey & brie sandwich spread with cranberry jelly... SO GOOD
cheslyn_d102018@reddit
first time i baby sat I definitely thought I would be shamed for serving this boy a mustard peanut butter sandwich upon his own request but luckily this was a common occurrence 🤣
sexyfemalewquestions@reddit
Great question
ShiftyState@reddit
My brother discovered what he dubbed the Super Sandwich when he was about that age. It had pretty much everything we had in the fridge on it. PB&J, bologna, mayo, ketchup, mustard, etc.
Kids are weird.
imanonymous987@reddit
I love bologna, mustard and peanut butter sandwiches because of doing this stuff as a kid.
Legitimate_Crazy3625@reddit
Peanut butter and bologna are surprisingly good. Never tried it with a condiment though.
thickassgecko@reddit
“Etc.” lol
greenbastard1591@reddit
cornered_crustacean@reddit
My kiddos periodically decide to fend for themselves in the kitchen. I make sure they’re being safe but otherwise let them have at it.
The older one has discovered a few unconventional ramen toppings (black olives, ranch dressing) the younger added dill pickle to a pb&j and now that’s a whole thing.
They can be little mad scientists in the kitchen if you let em! Also somehow they’re still picky as fuck so I guess that’s just life
UnrelatedCutOff@reddit
I started cooking at a very young age, in part because my parents let me
BJntheRV@reddit
When I was that age I ate bologna and ketchup. No one else in my family ate that. I'm guessing I just asked for ketchup on my sandwich and someone obliged. (I refused all other condiments until I was in my 20s,now at 50 I rarely touch ketchup and won't go near bologna).
But I was also surrounded by an older brother and boy cousins who would throw everything ona sandwich so nothing ever seemed like an odd combo.
Art3mis77@reddit
This one’s not so weird. A lot of people like ketchup on their meats
jivens77@reddit
IMO, Bologna is just a flattened hotdog, so ketchup makes sense.
When I was that age, a lot of the combinations I came up with were either from other kids letting me try something new or trying to come up with stuff to out do my friends.
BJntheRV@reddit
It was more an answer to how a 6yo finds what they like. Sometimes they just ask for things and parents so "OK but if I make it you have to eat it" and I'd think most parents would encourage their kid to be an adventurous eater rather than a picky one.
buttercream-gang@reddit
Same way mine discovered she likes apples dipped in ketchup
Constant-Still-8443@reddit
Curious George. There's an episode with a tuna, banana, and peanut butter sandwich which is apparently George's favorite sandwich combo.
jbjhill@reddit
Some kids have an imaginary friend, other kids have an Addams Family menu.
uneducated_guess_69@reddit
A 6 year old cat, right?
Outside_Link3318@reddit
I like fish with a sweet and spicy peanut sauce. Why not make it a sandwich?
Jpup199@reddit
I think you need to get am exorcist for your child.
Witty-Nectarine-5729@reddit
Yk what as long as they are eating
bruudwin@reddit
I get that, once in a while wed get grocery store burritoes and id eat them with milk honey cheese peanut butter mixed
ShopwornShortcut@reddit
I blame the parents.
ThisSiteIsCommunist@reddit
Absolutely. This is not a requested item from a 6 year old in any reality
CarolineTurpentine@reddit
Nah but I can see a kid taking a bite out of their moms pregnancy craving abomination and randomly liking it.

magicpie5@reddit
Now I want to try a Thai peanut style tuna salad sandwich. Way to go, kid.
Smoking-stone@reddit
Legitimate_Crazy3625@reddit
This is a food crime! I thought I was weird for eating dog biscuits at that age.
George_G_Geef@reddit
Your 6 year old is a 90s Nickelodeon character.
gingamann@reddit
Mine finishes the jar of pickles then drinks the rest of the jar.
Remarkable_Parsnip29@reddit
Incarcerate.
Remarkable_Parsnip29@reddit
Although, add some fish sauce, thai basil, and soy and you nearly have a thai tuna sammy…
EWSflash@reddit
Wild. Just don't discourage her from experimenting, I love that sens3
Frequent_Gene_4498@reddit
I would do sriracha instead of honey but otherwise this sounds good.
lifeofbablo@reddit
That’s… quite the combo for a 6-year-old. Kids’ taste buds are wild.
thickassgecko@reddit
This is awesome. I aspire to raise the opposite of a picky eater. I seems you have achieved this.
Cryptoking90@reddit
derpymcmuffin89@reddit
Is... is your 6 year old a bear?
Th4t_4ngel@reddit
It started off pretty well, and then the tuna came in
Rattregoondoof@reddit
Peanut butter and honey? Sure!
Tuna on a sandwich? Great!
Combined? No. Just no.
stopthevan@reddit
I approve.
UnrelatedCutOff@reddit
Peanut goes so well with savory stuff. Even fish. Especially if it’s in a Thai curry yum
mbudziRN@reddit
Honestly between the honey and everything let this kid try some pad Thai they'd probably lose their mind.
monty624@reddit

I knew a girl in grade school who liked pickle, peanut butter, bacon, and sunflower seed sandwiches. Sometimes she added mustard. I thought it was weird but I never said anything bc she clearly liked it and I wasn't the one who had to eat it lol

Comprehensive_Ad6598@reddit
Help this made me laugh so hard.
a_spicy_meata_balla@reddit
I can actually imagine peanut butter and tuna working together, but the honey ruins it for me.
MelanomaMax@reddit
PB+ honey is a classic combo, this is just adding protein to that. Much less weird than grape jelly and tuna would be imo
StumbleOn@reddit
My first thought was maybe this person likes the texture? Canned tuna doesn't have a ton of flavor in it.
Unable-Finish-5448@reddit
Honey roasted peanuts tho
a_spicy_meata_balla@reddit
I'm sorry, I hate honey and I will never support such things
asw57@reddit
I discovered hot honey on pizza. My brain could not grasp what was happening to my taste buds. It was delicious.
Espexer@reddit
Salty, sweet, spicy.
Unable-Finish-5448@reddit
Fair
WhoamIWhowasI@reddit
Honey and PB is a GOAT combination. Adding tuna to it is something I have never tried, but I'd be open to it. Panda Express perfected the savory/sweet dichotomy years ago, and I don't see this as being too different.
CMDR-LT-ATLAS@reddit

gojibeary@reddit
Peanut butter, tuna, and sriracha sandwiches are one of my favs! Ya kid’s got sophisticated tastes
RngrRuckus@reddit
Fahkoph@reddit
That's a bit deconstructed, but peanut butter sauce exists and can go on fried breaded fish, and honey is an acceptable thing to drizzle overtop. It's not common American cuisine but it's not unheard of, I've had it, it's fine. I wouldn't have those ingredients rearranged... like that, but I won't say the kid ain't on to somethin
Reallysy2@reddit
You don’t have to lie. We know it’s to you.
Cultural-Afternoon72@reddit
I’m gonna be honest, I really want to hate it… but I honestly think those flavors could work. Toast the bread for a little extra texture, and I could see this being a thing
HoopaDunka@reddit
Double protein, sweet and savory. Damn nice!
hit_the_button@reddit
