My understanding is for any item it is the responsibility of the shipper to ensure that the item arrives. Whether it is a rifle or a cardigan or whatever. So paying for insurance on the shipping is just giving the shipper an extra fee that they can pocket.

Shipping losses are the liability of whomever pays the shipper. So if you use UPS Collect, or send them a label, its on you. If you pay them for shipping, but they pay UPS, then its on them.

Everyone who has commented already is correct, I learned it from experience. Had a seller on GB send an old CZ rifle that was shattered. It looked like someone took the gun and broke it over their knee before boxing it up. They mailed it with no padding but the box was not damaged. Both the receiving FFL and I were confident it was damaged before shipping.

Long story short: the seller denied and refused all attempts to have my money refunded by claiming it was my responsibility to purchase insurance. The exact words from the woman I worked with at the bank were “hell no,” followed by an eye roll and laughter. She explained what other commenters have and made sure I got my money back. The seller was refusing to honor the charge back so the bank just yanked it.

It’s absolutely a scammy, shitty thing in the gun community and I treat any cart that automatically adds shipping insurance as a giant red warning flag for a company who’s probably going to handle customer service like leeches.

I had that happen - it was one of the brands that has a half dozen brand websites, and complained after that it re-added itself. Had to video screen record it being added again before they would give me a partial refund, but was just going to chargeback if they didn't.

I was specifically referring to their AR parts but the others are not too bad either. As soon as someone looks at a decent budget offering they either go elitist comparing it their Gucci rifles and anyone else that owns something lower priced is trash. Or default to “you get what you pay for” when a random isolated failure post pops up on their feed.

When you sell 100 units and only 2 of them come back to rma it’s good but suddenly someone sells a 1000 units and 20 of them come back the company is bad and has bad QC? Even thought the failure percentage is the same?

Only difference is you see 2 people post about it vs 20 and people default to “PSA Bad” because they’ve known more people have issues with it. You don’t see people with good units come and post to praise them, but you will see people with issues be vocal about it.

In my opinion, this is a better AK than an RD built ak as they tend to be around 1/3 to 1/4 cheaper and adjusted for inflation. These are about $400 pre-Covid?

Chrome line, barrels, fantastic shape, and balance. This is the pinnacle Ak platform in my sincere belief.
