ULPT: How to get back at someone for not returning my money

My manager(M33) took ₹50000 from me stating that he needs to make an urgent payment and his credit limit has been reached and that he will pay it back in 3 days when salary will be rolled out.
He was laid off in the next 3 days and had assured me that he will pay me back because he received that month’s salary.
He did not pay me back then and since then started ignoring my texts and calls. When I confronted him on this he started trying to gas light me and saying “mai karta hu jugaad kahi se”. This has since then become his tagline and afterwards he started saying that he will return it when his FNF comes.
Now 15 days back he received his fnf amount and is now completely ignoring my calls and messages on multiple platforms.
Another thing of note is that he left on bad terms and stole company asset (an iphone) and wanted me to cover for him which I did not since he already owed me money which he was not returning and I did not want to increase the liability. The company delayed his fnf so he sent them a legal notice to which they replied with another one saying that he stole a company asset

Why would you write this whole thing in English and then the one thing that would be vaguely interesting in your undisclosed native tongue?
VortexIdol@reddit
honestly makes sense to keep the currency in the original format... ₹50000 immediately tells you this is happening in india which adds context. translating everything would actually lose important cultural/legal nuances that matter for the advice
Bubbles-not-included@reddit
That was not the original formatting issue, they had what the boss used as their 'tagline' in their native tongue.

Changed it

Any loan without clearly defined terms is a gift. So you gifted your manager money.
If my manager came to me and said she had a maxed out credit card and needed money I’d laugh in her face for being so stupid.
Unethical would be tell him you have a great job for him and sell him into the iPhone scam slavery they do over in your neck of the woods.

I have it on record that he agreed to return it in 3 days.
omjy18@reddit
And how's that going for you? Generally speaking when people try to borrow money if you dont know them like family I wouldn't expect it back. Idk if India has something like small claims court but that'd probably be your best ethical option. Unethical I mean you guys have cricket bats over there
SwimmingOption1309@reddit (OP)
Clearly not well. We do have that here but it would cost me more than the amount I lent.
I just want to make him feel the consequences of his actions and not feel so helpless. I agree with your point but I never imagined that he would get laid off in the 3 days and change cities the next week. Again I know the moral of the story and lesson learnt. But I just want to get back at him
Bitter_Warning418@reddit
So public humiliation like the social media posts calling him out are the only way to do so at this point
declinedinaction@reddit
Yeah, most people aren’t lending that much to family
inn0cent-bystander@reddit
Did they sign it?
nosnhoj15@reddit
Surprised it hasn’t been mentioned.
Fuck his dad.
Steal his sandals.
Piss disc.
Consider the debt repaid.
Patient_Panic7231@reddit
robbery
Nikki15989@reddit
I would hire a lawyer and ask if they can get the company to reimburse you since he was technically your manager at that time.
Nabil021@reddit
How far are you willing to go to get that money back?
Andylanta@reddit
LOL
GolfIsGood66@reddit
You are very likely never getting the money back. He knew he was getting fired and saw you as an easy mark.
Piss disc him up.
poope_lord@reddit
Saw your post on the legal advice india sub. And I can say one thing, you're more likely to get your money back following the advice you're getting from here than the legal sub.
Get hold of his relative's phone number or something, add them to a group and message that idiot asking for money.
Ask for money under every post on his Instagram or linkedin.
If you have his address then slide piss discs under his door every night.
mishike16@reddit
Ahh... the ole reliable piss disc. Expected from the poop lord
nishant28491@reddit
Create a post on linkedin and tag him. 100% he'll return the money.
GaviJaMain@reddit
If you didn't document the thing, you are screwed.
Also he knew he was being laid off.
Active-Mission7326@reddit
how much is it in real money?
DuckSleazzy@reddit
228 burgers
YouSickenMe67@reddit
That's rude and insulting to say it's not "real money" just because you don't recognize it and apparently are too lazy to use google.
It's Indian rupees, and works out to about $581 US dollars. I hope that's "real enough" for you. Or maybe you only understand drachmas 🤷🏻♂️
AdorableFunnyKitty@reddit
🤝
zuckitsuckerberg@reddit
He asked how much it is in real money because it's 50,000 whatever's and to us Americans that feels like about 50 cents
Emergency-Kale5033@reddit
How did he take it? You mean you gave it?
ForexGuy93@reddit
He knew he was being laid off.
Salute-Major-Echidna@reddit
I agree.
Actually had something similar to me happen at an employee lunch. Rather than ask her boss to loan her $15 to cover her portion of the bill, she asked me. She already knew I was using a credit card, and she'd already eaten so she wasn't going to order something she could afford. This was 20 years ago when $15 was a really nice lunch. I knew when I paid I'd never see that money back and I haven't. I should have told HR though.
spaceporter@reddit
Have you tried piss disks?
SwimmingOption1309@reddit (OP)
Don’t have his new address
