Salary negotiation tips for $500k+ range?

For the last half of my career I have always made sure to never give a number when asked about salary expectations (thanks, Patrick McKenzie!), and trying to be educational and entertaining during the interview as well as informed and qualified.
As a result I have done really well and climbed the ladder in the last few years. Now, I'm starting to speak to recruiters and colleagues at FAANG and other successful companies to cross the $500k threshold.
I don't know how many people are making those kind of salaries but, if you are, do the traditional ways of negotiating still hold true? For example, forcing the company to give the first number. I think my concern is that I am looking at salaries that are high enough from what I am currently making that I don't know if companies tend to open with numbers at that range. It feels so different from a negotiation where you are trying to get $180k instead of $150k. Now, you could be looking at ranges from $400k - $600k! While the numbers are higher, the possibility of a negotiating "mistake" is more severe.

My advice is that you should figure out the market salary range on levels.fyi or glassdoor for your position then use salaryscript to help with negotiation. That's my strategy and I have helped my clients get up to an extra \~$120k in Total compensation.
