The Almere in Milton Keynes

We were looking to possibly move here, but concerned about the quality of the soundproofing.
We currently live in an old flat (Pre War) and it had soundproofing installed a few years ago and now it’s worn out it seems to amplify noise.
I was hoping with Almere being a modern building, we wouldn’t be able to hear the neighbours above and below that much.
Has anyone stayed or staying here and would be able to tell me what you think?
Thank you

I would not recommend the Almere, they are dodgy as fuck with the contracts, they get a bonus of every new contract they sign so they would try to make you new contracts every time they can, telling you its ok to break them whenever you want but it´s a lie, the cleanliness of the common areas is not that great, the soundproofing.. well you can hear dogs barking, and if you have upstairs neighbours draging stuff around you definetelly will hear them, also you would hear the pipes when someone flush if you are not on the higher floors.
I would save my monery to rent somewhere else to be honest, not to mention the outrageous prices they charge you for cleaning when you leave the flat... you have to be very and I say very careful when you get the flat document everything and make them aware of it, otherwise they will try to charge you that

Hi thank yo8 for your insight. May how much did they charge for cleaning?
Nok1a_@reddit
They did not, but I know they charge 400 + or used to be a year ago, also it depens how "bad" they would tell you the carpet need to be replaced, also if you use your own cleaning service wont be "good" and they will charge you for they own service, which is bad very bad

Hello!
I live here and have done for 3 years. So happy to answer any concerns/questions.
We only hear our upstairs neighbours when they move the furniture across the hard floor (which is every night at 8pm for some reason). Apart from that it's perfectly quiet. More noise from outside with car alarms etc but that's just part of living in the centre of a city.

Thank you very much for your input. If there are issues to fix, for example maintenance issues like hot water not working, are they quick to fix? Also are the receptionists helpful? The boy who gave up a tour seemed a bit lazy. Cheers.

Also worth noting we have a cat too and he's very happy here. Only thing he really hates is when they clean the windows. Apart from that he loves it.

We've only had one minor problem and they fixed it same day. That was a few years ago.
They seem pretty helpful yes. There's someone there most of the day and they manage all the post and deliveries which is amazing. Like anything in life some are better than others.

I have a few friends living there and they are very happy. Plus the convenience of having the Sainsbury’s and the gym by their apartment.

Used to live here for 2 years - no neighbor noise below or to either side. Above you did get a fair bit of noise/scraping. Also if you have windows open the various dogs in the flats (it's pet friendly) do bark at each other a fair bit.

Thank you very much for your answer. Oh dear we have little kittens/cats so that might scare them. Are there a lot dogs in these apartments?

So we were there 2022-24 so obviously might well have changed - it wasn't like every flat had a dog, but it was a fair number.
Also depends where you are in the blocks - I'd maybe suggest going for one facing "outward" to Moxy/Xscape rather than inward facing ones as that just allowed any barking to echo.
