The tide is coming in, they came out for like 3 minutes and then went away.

Those are coquina clams and they are bivalves that use their muscular foot to ride the waves and relocate. They also use that foot to dig in the sand. The more colorful they are (pink, blue, purple, orange) can indicate the health of their environment

coquina clams, but when I lived in Florida we called them "perriwinkles". not sure if that's still a thing.
