I didn't pull a Macgyver, I Macgyver'd things (usually shit) aka Macgyver'd shit together for a good outcome.
90% of the time, I Macgyver'd real physical stuff (wind shield wipers, brewing equipment, a lot of guitar pedals.) 10% was social things....but they felt more like pulling a Gordon Gekko than anything really ingenious.
How much of this slang did you use? I must’ve been a square as a very young kid because I don’t remember most of this stuff lol. Either that or the people who made this back then were trolling 🤷🏻♂️
Almost none of it. Yo, Peace, and MacGyver, though "MacGyver," was completely different than how they portray it.
To "MacGyver" something, was to create or fix an item using materials you had on hand. "I had to MacGyver a flashlight out of a bulb, a piece of tin foil, and a battery, since I couldn't find my real one.
Ya that’s about right. In fact other than the ones you mentioned I never heard the other ones. Bucked?! Sounds like a parent heard their kid talking and the kid saw them so instead of saying they got fucked up he said bucked up instead and they ran with it.
Now I must admit I do use the term 'buck' and often pair it with 'it' when referencing drinking. Specifically as it pertains to finishing a beer/cocktail/glass of wine that is more than a sip and may involve big gulping or light/medium chugging. So for example, 'Last call, better buck that beer before they take it'. Has straight to the dome components and more often taken in quickly..
Not cool. They fucked up MacGuyver (to jury-rig or cobble-together an ingenious fix), how are we supposed to trust anything they had to say? That entire video was someone's attempt to tell people how to be cool, which isn't very fetch.
If you're trying to sound "hip" then you've already made the first mistake... and you certainly won't be "hip."
"Yo" and "peace" were the only ones that I heard people use regularly. My buddy still uses "peace" as a goodbye. I've heard people use "macgyver'ed" to say that they fixed something in a creative way a few times, but it was never in common usage. The rest of them, no. Just. No.
You know how to definitely not sound “hip”? When someone tells you they got wasted the night before, immediately jump to “well, I hope you didn’t drive home” while looking judgmental. (“What are you, a cop? Did I say, or even imply, that I did?!…Hey Gary, get bucked!”)
Ya “yo” is in the common vernacular. We are all using it. Maybe except boomers but even then I’m willing to bet some of the younger ones have said it without realizing it.

That's not how you used Macgyver.
"How did you get the car to start?"
That's Macgiyvering a solution, not just "oh, you got lucky the cop was a lazy ass who didn't write a ticket."

The most 90s thing about this clip was that guy’s sweater.

Yeah, this whole thing is completely wrong. It's either trolling or very dumb people trying to sound cool. Confidently Incorrect.

Just some cob nobbler from the tom tom club. What kind of lamestain would make up BS slang?

83 Canada here. I still use “yo” , “peace” and “fu**ed”. Haven’t heard “McGyvered” in 15 years or so., but it was a thing.
OshetDeadagain@reddit
I've only heard 'peace' used sardonically by people who grew up in the '90s, and usually accompanied by the finger, not a peace sign...

I remember this and thought since when did Grant Goodeve have the stuff to teach anyone on how to be hip? Especially in the 90s.
