Uncle Ted was, IMHO, the coolest uncle on tv. What do you think?

Aside from being a great cartoon in general, the characters In this show were super relatable to me, but I never had a cool uncle like Uncle Ted.

Mr. Grouper from Bubble Guppies.
When my son discovered that show a couple years ago, the voice hit home quickly. Excellent voice actor, Uncle Ted.

Possibly based off of uncle Buck?

Bobby's World had some songs that are permanently lodged in my head.
Bangers like Animals Don't Wear Underpants and Underwater the Fish Don't Stink.

Bro core memory unlocked … underwater the fish don’t stink !!! I’m humming the tune right now.

I can’t help but think of “socks in a can” when I think of Uncle Ted.

CUT. IT. OUT.

Technically not an uncle. He was a family friend
urine-monkey@reddit
Not a biological uncle. But he related to the family the same way Jesse did.

I have several family friends who I call "aunt" or "uncle". It's more of an honorific title.

Uncle Phil is the champion uncle, sorry.
urine-monkey@reddit
Uncle Phil looses points for constantly trying to kill the Ninja Turtles.
MamboNumber-6@reddit
And all the times he tried to kill Jazz!
Dantez9001@reddit
He just literally THREW him out of the house.

Uncle Ted is who I aspire to be. Anxiously awaiting the day my nephew is old enough for me to ask if he knows what time it is. 😁

Uncle Ted was awesome. He took Bobby camping in the backyard and spent like $1000 on random stuff.
Good uncle.

Yeah but could he do this

I always loved how they would slip in adult jokes for kids. One of my favorite is when uncle Ted took Bobby swimming and the swimming instructor told all the kids and parents to stick their heads, underwater and make bubbles. When Bobby came up to the surface, he saw that bubbles were coming up from uncle Ted’s bathing suit, and said something like, “ you’re amazing uncle Ted you don’t even have to stick your head, underwater create bubbles”, to watch Ted gotten embarrassed and turned red.

I totally remember this.

The one I remember is when Bobby was daydreaming the neighbor girl as some kind of space monster and someone (Uncle Ted, I think) told him to "Stay away from her tentacles" to which Bobby muses "I thought only boys had tentacles?"
maggie320@reddit
I always thought he was based on Uncle Buck. Also Uncle Buck was another good one.

Totally feel this

I never watched it, but I'd think Uncle Phil on Fresh Prince or Uncle Jesse on Full House might both be above him.
cmacfarland64@reddit
What show is this? It looks really familiar.
bgva@reddit
"Bobby's World"
cmacfarland64@reddit
Dammit. I should’ve known that. Watched it on Fox every single day after school.

I think he's the uncle role model we all need to emulate - complete with fun shirts, hehe.
