I have a theory…

Dick Clark was an Android. As was Casey Kasem. Both only incrementally aged over decades. And seemingly in just “oh shit, people are starting to suspect, we need to give him a wrinkle and a few grey hairs” sorta way.

When both died, it wasn’t like a normal “they’ve gotten old” kinda thing, it was like the quirks you get with an old computer or appliance when the internal components start to wear out and troubleshooting becomes a lost cause.

Considering the vast schedule and workload of each of these individuals, only an Android… or a super human (like Alex Trebek)… could replace them. However, BOTH were replaced by a single individual… and upgraded Android model… Ryan Seacrest; all while continuing to do his own work with radio and American Idol.

Now… the Android that flew under the radar for me was Pat Sajak. I think perhaps he became too sentient over the years and they needed to “retire” him. And who’d they replace him with? Ryan Seacrest! I think they had considered using a sub-model of his… his daughter Maggie Sajak… but she did not fit the bill. Perhaps she will replace Vanna White one day.
