TECHNICALLY speaking, New Wave began as a subgenre of punk, so this isn't OFFICIALLY wrong. What we now consider middle-of-the-road punk, like Rancid or The Stooges, is technically classified as "hardcore punk." Or, for groups like Offspring and Green day, "pop punk." And *that's* definitely not what's on here.
