Apartment recommendations?

Hello! I just recently moved to Dallas and am looking to rent an apartment, I have no frame of reference for prices though. I am a student looking for a studio, a 1 bedroom apartment or if someone has a free bedroom in a shared apartment that works too. I live in Duncanville right now but mostly go to school in Irving so anywhere in between those two or near Irving would be ideal. Currently I share a single room with 3 people and pay 600 dollars a month, I am willing to pay a little more but my budget can’t really go over the 900 dollar mark and that is pushing it really. If anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated.

You won’t be able to afford your own place. Rent a room somewhere. Even if you find the cheapest place ever, you’ll be looking at minimum 1k easily (already past your budget), then you need to add cost of utilities. Check out rent room websites like roomies.com, Craigslist, etc. Just be careful to avoid any scams.

Yeah I think that is what I’ll have to end up doing, I don’t mind sharing a house or an apartment I just want to have my own room. Thanks anyways !

Do you own anything of moderate value? Sell it before you move to any place that has a private unit for under $1k. Otherwise someone else will sell it for you.

Old east dallas is cool, I pay $950 + fees utilities etc to live in a one bed. Theres air bnb assholes every week and there always people living in my parking lot, leaving stuff in the laundry room, etc but otherwise my place is really nice. Look for something close to peak and main, the shittier the cheaper after all

900… maybe like 6 years ago you could find something decent without a roommate. Now a days good luck

I am not dead set on living alone, just a room of my own. Shared apartments are fine as well
