I work at one of the level 1 trauma centers in Dallas and have seen what happens when no protective gear is worn. Some call motorcycles donor cycles. Wear your gear please
If you don't want the full boots get some riding shoes they are better than regular shoes. I got alpine stars smx6's I'll never go back to normal shoes
IDK man, I think I would rather lose at least my off hand before a foot, wear the boots. Would suck to get into a smaller wreck and fuck your feet up while the rest of you is mostly fine, ya know?
At least that means your commute is on the lesser side of the range shown since you can lane split and whatnot. As someone who’s only had a bike for years, it sucks in winter and summer though.
I don’t lane split. DNT is the tightest highway around here and everyone’s got big ass trucks and SUVs. Can’t be bothered to do it by the time I get to 35
Ahh that sucks then. I live in Mesquite and don’t know DNT well. I’d be surprised if a toll rode is tighter than 635, which I do use, and I still split on there sometimes.
Hey a lot of people come to love their commutes as solo, mostly peaceful breaks where they can listen to podcasts or audiobooks and just be alone for a bit to recharge in between the chaos of everyday life. A bit harder driving through the clusterfuck of downtown highway exchanges every day but not too hard.
Yeah I go on autopilot and try not to get heated when other drivers act aggressively. Just chill out, get to sing to whatever song has been stuck in my head, and talk to myself. My commute varies between 35 min - 1 hour, but my longest was 1.5 hours, so I think my tolerance is sort of high.
Same. Said fuck all that and got a work from home job. Was making $87k a year driving to Dallas every day in 2022. Now I'm making $152k a year working 100% from home. Best decision ever.
Used to have to drive from Balch springs to DFW airport every single day. Worst that I had to clock in on the dot. I would always have to leave my house at 5:45 am to make it to work 15 mins early at 7am, just in case there was severe traffic. After work it would a pain cause I would leave right as traffic begins at 3pm. Driving 635 on the way home was a death trap. Between road rage and falling asleep on the wheel. Once I quit my job for something closer. I felt a wave of relief. Like I had so much more time to myself. I started sleeping later because I didnt have to wake up so early. I began working out now that im not stuck in traffic for an 1:30. I will never go back
from Oak Cliff to McKinney. I leave the house @6:50am and leave work @8:00pm. It’s the only way to drive through less congestion but still there always an accident or construction going on.
My office just brought us in 5 days a week recently. I’m going to discuss with my higher ups. If I could even simply shift my schedule 2 hours earlier that would take a huge weight off my shoulders
My husband has a commute about 3/4 as long as yours, and his job is right there in that same neighborhood. His office agreed for him to work 7:00 to 4:00 instead of 8:00 to 5:00. It's just impossible otherwise. He leaves the house around 5:40 am.
They absolutely refuse to allow remote work, even though it worked just fine for a year and a half during covid. With the cost of gas, tolls, car repairs, and work clothes, not to mention his time, he would gladly take a $2k pay cut (or more) to be able to work from home. But no.
How strict are your hours? Commuted to same neighborhood from Uptown for years. Worked out a 7-3 schedule with my 9-5. Cut commuting time more than half. Highly recommend to anyone, especially using the DNT.
I’ve been commuting to Denton from the Richardson/Garland area for the past three years so I get it. It could be worse but I have chronic lower back pain that can make the weekly commitment dicey and vice-versa
I drive 43 miles each way, and it’s almost all toll. It’s somewhere around $13 a day. I’m on the road early enough that mornings aren’t bad, but the drive home sucks every time.
I do Krum to McKinney every day. If 380 wasnt as backed up as a liver transplant list it would take me about 35 minutes to drive to work. Instead it takes around the metroplex, from 35 to SRT to 75. Its awful either way
That sounds horrible. My wife and I moved 10 years ago, and getting away from 380 was one of the biggest reasons. It’s gotten exponentially worse since then.
Bro, I really admire what you’re doing. I lost my parents before I was even 21, and if I could give up a few hours of my day just to still have them around, I wouldn’t think twice. The sacrifices you’re making now will mean everything later , you’re building memories and blessings that no job or convenience could ever replace. Stay blessed
I’m not gonna open up to Reddit but it does hurt sometimes. I feel like I’m lagging behind in life in large part due to this
But Im hopeful one day I can reflect and tell myself it was worth it
TBH most in DFW have a commute around 45 min. Find time for yourself even if it’s just hitting the gym for 30 minutes to decompress. Hopefully everything looks up for you soon.
If it makes you feel better I usually spend about 2.5 hours a day commuting. Sometimes more. So my 8 hours day is closer to 12 hours. I feel like this has become a very normal DFW lifestyle for most
I also for a few years had a 1.5 hour (off peak) one way commute so I was spending 3-4 hours driving. It’s not as bad as it sounds, it’s sort of meditative to drive and not think
My daughter is at a charter school and I spend about an hour+ commuting to and from before I come home and get ready for work, which is another 30 mins there & about an hour home. On a long day I can be in the car upwards of 4 hours a day, I've just kinda gotten used to it.
If nobody has mentioned it, audiobooks, my friend. They are worth it.
When I had a bullshit commute I had to do every day, that got me through it. I listened to 30 books in a year and it enriched my life so much with what otherwise would have been wasted time.
I was going to say the same thing. I look forward to my time in the car now. I have only 1 task- to drive. With the uninterrupted drive time, I can enjoy the audiobooks not thinking about all the things I should be doing. It really is so enriching.
as a SAHD a 45 minute commute sounds like it would be nice most days. Pre-covid an hour was normal. But nobody asking for something every 5 minutes. Whole grass is greener thing because I know I'd hate it after a week.
Yeah man I am full remote but I actually loved the commute I had 5 years ago. Get a jalapeño cheese sausage and a Gatorade or something from QT and just chill on 635 for a half hour listening to music. I’ll get home when I get home. Was never in a hurry. I let most people in from the onramps and left like 4 car lengths in front of me. Didn’t have a kid at the time though so it didn’t matter as much.
What about a part time job? I wfh 2 days a week and go in 3, I look forward to some adult interaction and a chance to dress up and focus on work. My husband says the same about going into his office. With 5 kids at home, it can be a lot esp since we also have a toddler
Yea I mean especially anything within 635 even if you only live 20 mins away from your work easily double that no matter what most days. I’m shocked that commute OP posted only says an hour.
Maybe get some audio books so you don't feel like the time is completely wasted or go to the gym or something like that near work so you can commute early or late and avoid peak rush hour?
Try to utilize your time in the car, audiobooks or something to learn not just music. I used to have a 90 min commute one way for almost three years. I wasted a couple of years on music before getting audiobooks (albeit this was back when you'd have to buy them on CDs)
I drove from Dallas (Lovers and Greenville) to Saginaw (Blue Mound Rd.) every workday for 6 years. It was a major burden and not worth it in the end. I hope the service to your family is genuinely redeeming, otherwise I recommend moving.
I am currently doing something similar. Its very hard to watch people seemingly progress in life. I can’t guarantee you will think its worth it but I am hoping that for myself—and you too. And I think it will be worth it. Just because its not as common in the context we live in (this time in the US) doesn’t mean its not a common path. We aren’t lagging behind. We are choosing an alternative route. And I for one think you’re brave and loving for doing it. May you find long term meaning in your choice.
I used to have a 60 - 70 mile commute when I lived in Calif. $40 in tolls one way if I was running late. I would be at work at 4-5 am for a job that everyone else started at 7-8am. 1.5 to 2 hours in the morning and 2-3 in the afternoon. I feel you. Commuting that long drives people crazy. But I understand your reasons and they seem noble.
Godspeed man. I know it’s hard in the moment, but I’m sure in time we will hold our heads high without an ounce of regret. That’s what i fear more than anything, regret especially concerning family
Honestly if you've got a decent relationship with your parents, that could let you shovel way more into retirement accounts & retire decades earlier. Could definitely be worth the commute.
Is it possible you come in later and leave later…like be at work at 9-10 am leave at 6-7pm? or be allowed to come in early/ leave early or use FMLA leave to have some days you leave before rush hour so you van be home before that kicks off?
One of my dad’s coworkers works in Richardson and lives in Oklahoma because he can’t afford to move to Texas. He has to drive like 2-3 hours to AND from work. It’s sadly become more common for everyone to not be able to afford to live where they work especially here in DFW. It if at all makes you feel better, I dropped out of college and working 2 jobs and I feel behind too but I know every situation is different and you just have to worry about you and not compare yourself to others. It can be hard but reminding yourself what is most important does help me when I’m feeling down about my position in life. Keep your head up because you are an angel for helping your parents!
This is how it was for me leaving in West side Fort Worth and working in Irving. 45 minutes was making good time, but if I left 10-15 minutes later it was an hour and a half.
I worked with someone who would drive in daily from somewhere 1 hr south of Dallas to way up to the end of the rollaway. Every day. Took them 1.75 hrs to get to work most days.
Because expensive. I bought a house because I was told my job would NEVER move (25-35 min commute). Well, they moved (65+min commute). Now I get asked why I don’t just buy closer to work? Well, my pre-2020 mortgage and 2.25% interest rate mean buying an equivalent house in the suburbs would cost me an extra $3500. When my boss asked me if I planned to move closer o said “I do! Just as soon as I get a $50k raise to cover the cost of mortgage and taxes. I don’t wanna be TOO greedy, since I’ll be saving some gas and wear and tear on the car.” He has stopped asking since I said that.
Is the job really that great and are you already looking for another job? Lots of companies downtown need butts in offices. That would shave off time if you can find the right role.
You should absolutely either change jobs or move. If you have to live with your parents, get them to move with you, assuming your job is worth it. If you have to live where you live, then definitely change jobs. I used to commute from Mesquite to Farmers Branch on a motorcycle - even with the HOV lane, it sucked. Best decision I ever made was moving. It was about 10 years ago, but I think the same would hold true now -- my life so quickly changed for the better. I moved to Richardson, so still had a short drive, but just a little bit closer helped a ton with my mental health and finances. A short time later I changed jobs to be closer to my new location and was able to start biking to work. When I changed jobs again and had to start to commuting to Plano, it was horrible. I quit that job after less than a year to start working from home. Lose the commute, ASAP.
I feel your pain. I moved to the countryside in 2019 (23 years into my job on the south side of Houston). Now, my commute is 77 miles each way. I am fortunate that I can shift my hours, so I leave the house at 4:45 and get to work by 6:30am. I leave at 3 pm and am home by 5. It's a long ass day, but I'm able to avoid the majority of work traffic. Audio books are a godsend!
Completely understood, and I think my question was worded a bit poorly. People probably think I’m talking about carrying a gun when really I am curious about your mentality/travel style used to avoid road rage. Tough route to do daily!
5-10 hours a week for a commute. On average an entire work day just in a car. I did it for years in this godforsaken metro. Podcasts and audiobooks help!
Mine is about the same distance, but considerably less time because I purposely work from 4:30am to 1pm. Live In Dallas, but on Mesquite border and work in Coppell.
25 minutes to work and 35-40 home.
I drive a couple hundred miles a day during the week, Lake Fork to Grand Prairie. Luckily, I get to choose multiple options 20/30/80/175 depending on traffic
I had/have one similar. Wild circumstances. Done it for years. Made me fall in love with audio books. Ive read/listened to hundreds and hundreds of books. Be careful.
You can borrow audio books for free on the Libby app. If your local library doesn't have much of an online section, you can also get Houston online digital card, free to anyone in TX. It helps.
How do you manage to do it? I do it maybe a couple of times a week in what used to be off-peak hours (noon-early afternoon) and the traffic is already so bad.
I leave about 8:15 AM.
Traffic downtown is bad on I-35 only in the stretch between I-30 and getting onto the Tollway. If it looks bad enough I actually go inside downtown because it’s somehow faster than just waiting in line to get onto the onramp.
Drivers act pretty civilized for the most part. But most of them on their phone
I don’t know how you do it my route is the same but going i45 to DNT all the way to Carrollton BUT I only do it once a month and after 9:30 AM but OMG coming back home I wanna shoot myself! I really detest people driving like animals. So what time do you return home? If I can I leave at 2:30 PM if not I stay till 7 pm. Any suggestions on faster routes you have taken? You mention downtown but I figure lights and stuff would make it slower.
Well I work a 9-5 so not many options for leaving at different times. The commute home is definitely worse than the way to work. Once things settle down at home, I am looking to build a weekly routine that keeps me entertained until at least 6:30 after work. A nearby park opens its soccer fields on Mondays, I get discounts at AMC on Tuesdays, gym on Wednesdays would be nice, I’m sure I can find something on Thursday and Friday
Honestly the best thing I did to speed up my commute was pay attention to which lanes slow down where. I pass hundreds of cars a day just knowing when to switch lanes ahead of time. The right most lanes move me faster about 30% of the route
When I’m coming down DNT in the afternoon, I don’t like waiting in that mile long line to get to 35. Too dangerous on a motorcycle. Instead I follow the left lanes into downtown via Harry Hines. I pass little Mexico, the Perot, the Hooters by House of Blues, under RL Thornton, past West End, over JFK’s killcam spot, and get on 35. I can use the I-35 express lanes because they spit me out on 67 just before I-20. I skip literally all traffic south on 35 thanks to the free express lanes
Ever get Hutchens BBQ in McKinney? Me and my boyfriend drive from Little Rock every few months to hop around Dallas and always get it. Everyone has there favorites.
I listen to audiobooks on my hour long daily commute and I’ve flown through some great books. Best thing I’ve learned is to not give work a second thought after you walk out the door until you walk back in the next time. I’ve been much happier like that and I even like my job okay.
Only done it twice and it’s a wrap tbh. I can’t continue to be driving back home sleepy. Something tells me it’s only a matter of time before that turns into a very bad day so, like I said, a wrap 🙂↔️
1) How often do you take breaks halfway through commute? Variations on this technique include taking a nap in a parking lot halfway through, or planning to eat out somewhere halfway. These are what I did almost every time when I used to commute from White Settlement to Plano.
2) Ever try taking the Express Bus 308 to Northwest Plano? Or the Express Bus 378 from Redbird? For the time, distance, and cost (fuel+tolls) of your commute, it looks like you might as well park at Redbird Transit Center (for free), then ride the two express buses. Sure, it may technically be longer to catch two buses, but you can take naps on the express buses (which are comfier than regular) and is way cheaper (takes tollway without charging you toll). It might net save you time over driving because you won't need to take breaks from driving and not feel as exhausted afterward.
Those buses (especially 308) are stupidly fast too. They're regularly overtaking and being faster than almost every other car on the highway. It's definitely a great option if you need a break from that drive!
I did the same lengthy commute for two years that thankfully ended last year. On a good day, it took an hour, bad days, up to two hours. It was a huge waste of time I’ll never get back. Never again.
My commute is very similar, not quite as long. Even though it's a longer distance, Legacy -> 121 -> 35 has gotten me to south of downtown faster than tollway every time.
I also work at Legacy West, commute from Mesquite. 45 minutes in the morning and about an hour on the way home. It’s rough, i’d love to move closer, but i’ve gotten used to it. The gas and toll bills suck though. Luckily my wife works 2 minutes from home
I commiserate with you 🥲 I commute from 45 miles east to Dallas a few days a week and I want to give up on existence (I am a drama queen don’t take me seriously) DAILY.
Imagine it nowadays with that 635 construction. I like to go to Garland Camera shop but dealing with rush hour 635 makes me question if ancient cavemen ever reached such stress levels
I used to have a similar commute down to the Dallas VA. Thankfully there was a DART station ~10 min from my place with a parking lot so I could just buy a monthly DART pass and save several hundreds of dollars on gas and I got to read/work/sleep for an hour instead of sit in traffic.
luckily i travel 44mi to legacy west for work from heath hahah. but i am fortunate to leave at 6am and come back at 3pm. took me 1hr 40min to get to work leaving at 6:50am
Grew up in D/FW, commuted to north Dallas from west side of Fort Worth daily. What’s your most hated section of your commute? Mine was the stretch of 635 from 75 to 35, coming in the morning was nightmare especially around the NDT coming or going was always vehicular constipation.
Yep, sounds about right. I do about the same commute daily. But it’s what has to be done at the moment. Everything is momentarily. Times will get better. Unless it’s traffic. Traffic will only continue to get worse.
I drive from Forney to Carrollton. It’s a long commute but I won’t make the money at my job anywhere else. Been doing it for 10 years. I call it my quiet time.
From 35 to Forrest stay in far left hand lane it’s stop and go some of the way, that turns into the 2 left lane and from there with some patience it moves pretty good all the way to 30
Yeah, I've had drives like that before, but most of it was rural interstate. Traffic about doubles the impression of how long it feels, in my experience. I moved to Plano and have a 20-30 min drive. The 20 min with no traffic feels like 20 mins, the 30 min with traffic feels like an hour. There's times I would get home after a pretty calm day at work and feel exhausted from the drive, hated that mess
I know exactly what you mean. I used to drive all day every day at two previous jobs, and for the most part I enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was having to deal with traffic all the time, especially when I was at the second job. I've just recently started jamming out to music and having fun while stuck in traffic, and if I'm at a dead stop then sometimes you'll catch me dancing as well.
Man.. used to ride my motorcycle from windhaven prky. to royal on the toll way on my bike for YEARS in about 18 minutes on my motorcycle. Then, the tollway only had weight sensors to set off the camera, so I'd ride the middle of the lanes and maybe only got changed $20 in 5 years. It was and still is one of the best roads within the city to ride on because it actually had some turns and elevations changes and didn't feel so boring. This was when they where all working 635 tollway about 10 years back. Good times
Don’t get me started on it man. I know why you did this AMA, because there’s only so much you can share to your co-worker or friends before they get annoyed with your traffic issues.
Yeah, if it's not east plano, you're paying to go anywhere up this way, they know we'd rather spend the cash than spend time on the side streets, too =x
Damn near the same route for me. Also coming from i-20 in the same area and commuting all the way to McKinney. Easily 50 min - 1 hr everyday….with tolls.
I also commute because I own a home out here. Maybe they can do 4 10s for you ? To make a little bit better and maybe start looking for a job closer to home?
I feel you. Home to work for me is 39 miles each way. 45 mins in the morning. And 1 hr - 1 hr mins when I leave. From Red Oak to Garland. 635 is the devil.
I feel awful for you. Do you ever ride the train? Not sure if the red line goes all the way to legacy or not. I don’t live in Texas anymore but I thought my commute from Bishop Arts to the north side of DFW was bad. 1.5 hours each way during peak of rush hour. I worked downtown for 11 years and rode the train from Oak Cliff and I loved it. 20 minute commute.
Thats a bit longer than mine, but pretty much the same commute. But Ive prob been stuck on the Tollroad next to you before. Im the guy that will Let you in ALWAYS if you use your turn signal. :)
Another cooperative driver! I finally got a wave back today after letting someone in near Belt Line. It’s funny how working together gets everyone moving faster than fighting over positions in a race with no prize :)
I feel you. I live by Oak Cliff too, and have to go to Plano for work everyday. It’s a lot. I have night shifts so it’s not that much traffic during that time, but does kinda suck still.
Oh dear. I used to drive almost the same route, just with a start/stop in Addison. My cortisol levels dropped so much once I didn’t have to do that every day
why not rent the house out and have them move to a two bedroom apartment near work? there are a lot of nice apartments coming up around Dallas, many even with elevators and some , a walking distance to parks
My sympathies to you. I commuted 45 miles for 12 years in Nor Cal and got no sympathy from what were called “Supercommuters” from Sac to SF every day. My brother worked with people who commuted daily from Palmdale in the high desert to West LA which was 2 hours on a Sunday morning. A 45 minute commute was considered “easy”.
Interesting. I commuted 33 miles each way from Richardson to Denton and back for almost 12 years!
Typically 45 minutes each way.
Sometimes much longer with accidents on 35E before or after the Lewisville Lake Bridge. No easy way around that!
But I don't regret it.
This is why I only work from home now. I may have a disability on my side now legally but I refused to drive more than 30 minutes one way. It’s just too much for me. I did it once for work where I was driving from 20 minutes east of Van Alstyne to the 183/35 join at Mockingbird.
I thought my commute from rockwall to McKinney was ass but I work nights so traffic isnt bad since I mainly take George bush (fuck tolls) but I75 is absolutely trash and every damn night they are doing construction
I make the drive but I work 6-230. 121>35>12>408 drops off in duncanville in like 45 min. From 5th floor to Duncanville. Cut across duncanville 20 and you only spend like $2 in tolls

Ahh that sucks then. I live in Mesquite and don’t know DNT well. I’d be surprised if a toll rode is tighter than 635, which I do use, and I still split on there sometimes.

New_Fig_6815@reddit
I understand your pain. I drove Richardson to Cedar Hill for years. Good day = 45 min. Bad? No telling. 44 miles one way.
SkyScreech@reddit (OP)
44 miles? At that point its not just gas to consider. Its tires, brakes, consumables...wow
Sellhomesfast@reddit
Dude you’re just shy 10 miles of 44miles. You’re basically in the same boat

USMCLee@reddit
Ask for 2. Even 1-1.5 will have a dramatic impact on your drive time.
I switch from 8-5 to 7-4 and it was amazing.
justonemom14@reddit
My husband has a commute about 3/4 as long as yours, and his job is right there in that same neighborhood. His office agreed for him to work 7:00 to 4:00 instead of 8:00 to 5:00. It's just impossible otherwise. He leaves the house around 5:40 am.
They absolutely refuse to allow remote work, even though it worked just fine for a year and a half during covid. With the cost of gas, tolls, car repairs, and work clothes, not to mention his time, he would gladly take a $2k pay cut (or more) to be able to work from home. But no.
SkyScreech@reddit (OP)
Time matters to me more than money right now. I'd take a pay cut if it meant I could have another 10-15 hours of my week back
Stabmaster@reddit
Good luck !!
theothercdf@reddit
How strict are your hours? Commuted to same neighborhood from Uptown for years. Worked out a 7-3 schedule with my 9-5. Cut commuting time more than half. Highly recommend to anyone, especially using the DNT.

TBH most in DFW have a commute around 45 min. Find time for yourself even if it’s just hitting the gym for 30 minutes to decompress. Hopefully everything looks up for you soon.
SkyScreech@reddit (OP)
Its ok. I have numerous hobbies and hardly enough time for them, my mind is happily occupied most of the time when not at work or home

If it makes you feel better I usually spend about 2.5 hours a day commuting. Sometimes more. So my 8 hours day is closer to 12 hours. I feel like this has become a very normal DFW lifestyle for most

And incredibly unhealthy. Humans need time to socialize with other humans, live life, enjoy their hobbies. not be made to sit in cars so many hours.

Sometimes_Wright@reddit
as a SAHD a 45 minute commute sounds like it would be nice most days. Pre-covid an hour was normal. But nobody asking for something every 5 minutes. Whole grass is greener thing because I know I'd hate it after a week.
Shirkaday@reddit
Yeah man I am full remote but I actually loved the commute I had 5 years ago. Get a jalapeño cheese sausage and a Gatorade or something from QT and just chill on 635 for a half hour listening to music. I’ll get home when I get home. Was never in a hurry. I let most people in from the onramps and left like 4 car lengths in front of me. Didn’t have a kid at the time though so it didn’t matter as much.
Consistent_Edge_5654@reddit
What about a part time job? I wfh 2 days a week and go in 3, I look forward to some adult interaction and a chance to dress up and focus on work. My husband says the same about going into his office. With 5 kids at home, it can be a lot esp since we also have a toddler

Rutes@reddit
Interesting_Ad9720@reddit
I feel your pain. I moved to the countryside in 2019 (23 years into my job on the south side of Houston). Now, my commute is 77 miles each way. SkyScreech@reddit (OP)
But most of them on their phone
bigbot32@reddit
I don’t know how you do it my route is the same but going i45 to DNT all the way to Carrollton BUT I only do it once a month and after 9:30 AM but OMG coming back home I wanna shoot myself! I really detest people driving like animals. So what time do you return home? If I can I leave at 2:30 PM if not I stay till 7 pm. Any suggestions on faster routes you have taken? You mention downtown but I figure lights and stuff would make it slower.
SkyScreech@reddit (OP)

Thin-Constant-4018@reddit
Those buses (especially 308) are stupidly fast too. They're regularly overtaking and being faster than almost every other car on the highway. It's definitely a great option if you need a break from that drive!

SkyScreech@reddit (OP)

LiamG2012@reddit
From 35 to Forrest stay in far left hand lane it’s stop and go some of the way, that turns into the 2 left lane and from there with some patience it moves pretty good all the way to 30
Queensama@reddit
The way I know this...
NightGod@reddit
Yeah, I've had drives like that before, but most of it was rural interstate. Traffic about doubles the impression of how long it feels, in my experience. I moved to Plano and have a 20-30 min drive. The 20 min with no traffic feels like 20 mins, the 30 min with traffic feels like an hour. There's times I would get home after a pretty calm day at work and feel exhausted from the drive, hated that mess
Ryan_Wise@reddit

Good times
observantandcreative@reddit

I make the drive but I work 6-230. 121>35>12>408 drops off in duncanville in like 45 min. From 5th floor to Duncanville. Cut across duncanville 20 and you only spend like $2 in tolls

Yeah blame the people. Don’t worry about the government that is supposed to handle this with the money they take from us at every possible turn
Agile_Definition_415@reddit
I blame shitty politicians and corporate interests that deny us good, safe and affordable public transportation.

True. Luckily I only commute M-F from Denton County to Downtown Dallas and looking forward to retirement in a little over a year!

No lie currently working at legacy. Did that same commute but from scurry. My back still remembers those days.
