WW-III already started and Americans are clueless. Bombs will have to fall before the USA knows there is a war going on.

Thank you Poland. Slava Ukraini.
KernalKorn16@reddit
Wait they are building up forces near the Poland border? And calling them military exercises? Where have I heard this before…
Mundane-Style4111@reddit
This may age like milk, but I don’t see that the Russians currently have the manpower and equipment to fight both Ukraine and Poland at the same time, excluding even any other NATO-member.
They may try to choke off the Baltics and hope that NATO or rather Europe will look the other way, but even so this is a huge gamble and could easily go the other way.
P2029@reddit
Dude, Ukraine halted Russia's advance. Poland alone would curb-stomp the fuck out of Russia - they've been preparing for this for a long time - while invoking Article 5 (no WAY the EU lets Russia into Poland, that's a big red fucking line for them even if the US pussies out to distract from Epstein.
flowithego@reddit
You really said "Poland _alone_ would curb-stomp the fuck out of Russia", with a straight face.
Poland ain't curb stomping shit solo. If they could, they would. Just listen to deputy PM Radosław Sikorski. He's itching for a fight, but not without NATO.
This level of delusional disconnect from reality is already costing Ukraine dearly.
Ricky_Ventura@reddit
Yes, Poland is many times more powerful than Ukraine and Russia is still unable to defeat Ukraine. An invasion of Russia isnt feasible by Poland but Russia absolutely has no ability to invade Poland.
Defensively, Poland alone could curb stomp the fuck out of Russia. The Ukraine invasion has shown Russia to be a total paper tiger.
flowithego@reddit
Do you actually have any idea or have you done any research on how overwhelming the military power of Russia is over Poland?
Russia has every means to invade a solo Poland. Stay on topic.
Regarding Ukraine, show me on this map how Russia controlling 20% of Ukraine is not achieving its military objectives in eastern Ukraine, where natural resources are estimated in the trillions.
josephrainer@reddit
I mean yeah, now that Russia has moved the goalposts from “2 week special military operation” where they thought they could capture Kiev and capitulate the country to: “control 20% of Ukraine with a lot of minerals in it” sure, you could say an objective has been completed.
flowithego@reddit
Show me the source where Russia said "2 weeks" to do x.
Even if you could (you won't), decoys are a part of military doctrine. And if i was Rus strategist, I'd fully play that game where I make it look like I want Kyiv* (Kiev is the Russian spelling) as decoy and focus on the real effort.
See for yourself.
josephrainer@reddit
Claiming their objective was a decoy is unbelievable amounts of delusion (or “copium” if you’d prefer)
flowithego@reddit
Jfc you can’t all be obtuse.
josephrainer@reddit
Who is “you all?” Me and my tapeworm?
flowithego@reddit
No.
Your tapeworm is a national treasure.
Poopbicycle1@reddit
I mean I bet they haven't used their good equipment yet.
josephrainer@reddit
Yes they must be waiting 3 more years and to lose 1 million more soldiers
Poopbicycle1@reddit
Maybe, we'll never know
BandosPerdos@reddit
It took Russia more than three years to capture these 20%. This is despite the fact that Ukraine is much weaker than Poland in terms of military power. Moreover, Ukraine was not ready for a treacherous attack. Poland, on the other hand, is preparing for this. Therefore, Russia is unlikely to achieve any success in this direction. Plus, a significant part of the Russian army is now in Ukraine. Which means that Russia will have to take at least some of the troops from there and transfer them to Poland. Which in turn will give the Armed Forces of Ukraine a huge advantage. Of course, Putin can once again declare mobilization, recruit conscripts and send them to fight Poland. But I think that conscripts will not fight much. They will all die in the first weeks, and Putin will have to create another Wagner Group to have someone to throw at Polish positions.
P2029@reddit
"If they could, they would"
We're not talking about an offensive scenario, because Poland would never invade Russia. We're talking about a defensive situation where Russia attacks Poland, and yes, Poland would stomp Russia out in this scenario, because:
Based on the above, Poland could (relatively)easily halt a Russian advance, and I would argue counter attack to strike very effectively into Russian territory.
If you care to include some statements to support your claims, I'm happy to be educated on an alternative view.
flowithego@reddit
Thanks GPT.
Now let’s get back to your original point of “Poland alone curb stomping Russia”.
P2029@reddit
I don't know why you're being such an enormous asshole about this, calling me "GPT"? Can you not just have an adult discussion without resorting to petty insults and name-calling? Unless you are a child, in which case I suggest you continue to work on your rhetorical skills. And just so you know, both my reply and this statement was 100% typed by my organic, human meat-thumbs.
I'm not engaging in this discussion with you anymore, asking for me to do your research for you to substantiate your arguments is absurd and an enormous waste of time.
alej2297@reddit
The problem is that they don’t need manpower. They just need to sow enough discord in the NATO alliance with fear of nuclear war that it falls apart. And with the rotting orange at the head of the US government, they might think the gamble is worth it.
Mundane-Style4111@reddit
NATO might fall apart, but there are still nukes sprinkled around the continent.
Maybe the French and English pull a ‘39, maybe they nuke Moscow or St. Petersburg. There’s an awful lot of guesswork involved in all this, unfortunately.
Poopbicycle1@reddit
The French have their own problems right now
alkbch@reddit
No, they will not. Nuking Moscow or St. Petersburg will lead to the death of billions of people.
single_use_12345@reddit
last time Poland was invaded by Russia did France sent its boys to die for Poland?
Mundane-Style4111@reddit
Well in historical hindsight it was cowardice, but tbh the Brits and French just didn’t seem to anticipate many of Hitlers moves + you had „neutral“ countires such as Belgium which refused the French offer to extend the Maginot-line up to the North Sea.
I don’t know if we’ve learned anything from this, but here’s hoping we did.

alej2297@reddit
It doesn’t matter. The biggest check to Russian aggression in the baltics is the promise that NATO forces would follow suit. If Russia can attack a smaller NATO power and not trigger Article 5, they have won in Putin’s eyes, even if Poland would suplex them into the ground.
ConsistentHalf2950@reddit
Poland and a few other countries would join in for their own hide. Russia is so weak I’m a sure a Cold War era military would spank them considering they’re down to using Cold War surplus.

ABoutDeSouffle@reddit
If a country invokes Art. 5, all NATO members will react individually - they are free to just send a letter of concern or go nuclear.
However, the collective response of NATO is decided in the North Atlantic Council, which is a political body.

carlitospig@reddit
If we follow Mundane’s advice ‘akin to how is the time because Russia can’t really do much damage’, I would consider that poking the Russian bear. Fighting a nuclear power has definite rules of engagement so you’re not over escalating.

Attack Poland. Tactical nuke either Ukraine or their own land. US goes into Civil War. China goes for Taiwan. Iran bombs Israel. They respond with nuclear action on Iran, after seeing Russia use one (or vice versa). This is World War III, the beginning date hasn’t been decided yet but will looking back.
Nvrmnde@reddit
US has already troops on streets internally. Israel just attacked Qatar, russians have sent drones into Poland. It's cooking.
SouthernWindyTimes@reddit
I can promise you I am not wrong. We have officially, and honestly this past two weeks, crossed the point. Israel bombed 6 countries now so far. Russia and Belarus are doing the same military drills they did in Ukraine. China wants Taiwan but can’t do it until everyone is focused on EU/Russian and the US is alone. When I say internal civil war I mean one with escalations and more like The Troubles. Domestic terrorism, assassinations, martial law. I’d hate to be Japan right and SK right now not knowing if the US is actually coming to help.
ABoutDeSouffle@reddit
Chill, Russia and Belarus are not going to invade NATO territory any time soon. Yes, last time, the Zapad exercise was a pretext for an invasion, but they can't just march over the border - they didn't do so in 2021, but kept their soldiers at the border for half a year.

SouthernWindyTimes@reddit
Civil war I honestly mean heavy censorship, martial law, and a more troubles like engagement. But even then I do agree. If we were to engage Canada right as Russia engage Poland or Ukraine (nuclear wise) … oh I don’t even want to think of that. I think the kicker for me right before the Ukrainian invasion was the reports of field hospitals being set up and blood reserves being transported.
I have no idea what this information does for me in the current situation Russia is provoking. Do they have the equipment/ will to do that part again, or do they recognize the first wave over the border won't be needing field hospitals? Them not being present doesn't really mean "no invasion" to me, I guess
PilgrimOz@reddit
That’s assuming they put lol their eggs in the one basket and didn’t reserve anything or anyone. Russia still has most of its experienced northern fleets in their icy regions that were never deployed (for instance). And when you take a good look at the conscripts deployed in Ukraine recently…there’s a lot of drunken old men and prisoners. Don’t know for sure what he’s been holding in reserve? Personally, from the starts I reckon he’s been trying to engage NATO and wouldn’t do that unless he had a wider plan and better stocked undeployed weapons and equipment. Plus, once he gets NATO involved, he gets a blank cheque to spend on resources and conscript as many as he wants. In other words….he kinda needs WW3 to kick off because as it stands he is ‘losing’. And his history show (outside the Ukraine war) he doesn’t like losing and will try anything to win. Just look at his political opponents. Or what is left of them.
Mouthshitter@reddit

melympia@reddit
And you honestly think nobody would involve the US, one way or another? Some nukes are bound to go there - Russian, Chinese, Indian, French/UK false-flag, doesn't matter. But the chances of no nukes finding their way to the US are negligible. If a nuclear war happens, that is.

Its not an unpopular opinion in Poland that war with Russia is likely inevitable, and they have made clear that they would rather have the fight in Ukraine than in Poland. There is at least some that are for unilaterally joining the war even without nato backing because of this.
Given the recent escalation, if other nato countries are willing to support Poland entering in some capacity, it could make it much more likely they decide to do so.
King_Kea@reddit
Honestly, I'm all for a coalition of the willing approach. We know Russia won't stop with Ukraine. If we want long-term peace that is just and effective, then stopping Russia in Ukraine is the best thing to do IMO.
alkbch@reddit
You understand the coalition of the willing is only willing to provide assistance to Ukraine AFTER a negotiated peace deal AND with the support of the United States?
thousandmilli@reddit
Nope. Even if our goverment decided to do that (doubt) this would be political suicide for every party. Polish troops in Ukraine would be perfect target for russians to weaken our capibilites without war with Poland.
Also russia is weaker than one might think, thats why they threating us after we closed border, apparently China dont like it. This is mostly cognitive hybrid war.
Main target of russias actions towards poland is to create division and spread misinformation. They want us to stop helping Ukraine. Easy as it is.
NATO response was good and quick. (Watched it in real time instead of sleeping)
The biggest problem may be orange turd but i think NATO even without USA is just stronger.

Russia moving troops that way is a bluff designed to prevent this from actually happening.

Honest_Persimmon_859@reddit
There's no way Russia actually has enough troops available to actually try anything more than just their usual antagonizing and boundary pushing, right? Like, maybe if they didn't just spend the last 2 years using all their resources, but it seems like they've already got about as much on their plate as they can handle and you'd think they must know it but who knows at this point.
Enough-Bobcat8655@reddit
If they've already used all of their resources in Ukraine, why hasn't ukraine won yet?
Honest_Persimmon_859@reddit
Because Ukraine also has basically no resources left, and it's easier to machinegun a bunch of guys rushing at your trench than it is to rush across an open field at a trench full of guys with machineguns, so neither side has enough forces left to push the other back very far, they only can really try to hold what they currently have. It's basically just attrition at this point. Most of the shitty, outdated tanks and equipment that they had at the beginning of the war to just throw at the Ukrainians because it was outdated anyway is gone now, that was something they could only use once. The prisons have already been emptied. The poor people have already been drafted. If they had a bunch of fresh tanks and bombers and shit it would probably make more sense for them to use them to win in Ukraine than it would for them to just start attacking Poland for no reason when the EU is currently not directly interfering.
Enough-Bobcat8655@reddit
I think underestimating Putin is a grave mistake.
HappyAnimalCracker@reddit
He has proven some ability to recruit resources from other countries. Now that Trump has essentially forsaken US allies, a little bit could go a long way for Putin. As to whether it would make more sense to expand his ambitions beyond Ukraine (assuming he could drum up said resources), there are probably arguments for both sides. In general, I agree that underestimating Putin isn’t a good idea. He’s gotten pretty far with his long game approach to destabilization of his adversaries.

Honest_Persimmon_859@reddit
I read something a while back in an article about their manpower for the Ukraine War that a lot of the people they have left who would be conscriptable are the kids of the wealthy people whose votes Putin still sorta needs just enough that drafting them could be an issue. Not sure of the accuracy of the report, though, since I think the original source was Ukrainian intelligence or something. Then again, I've also seen articles saying that their economy at this point is basically dependent on a war continuing for them to keep spending money on or something, so there's a lot at play here. Hopefully nothing happens, though, and this all calms back down.
Odd-Guess1213@reddit
Not gonna happen. They’re getting fucked in Ukraine and you think they can open another front with the rest of Europe? Come on.
New-Doctor9300@reddit
The point isnt about winning against Poland, its about testing NATO's resolve. If he can fight in a war against Poland and Article 5 isnt enacted and the rest of the pact dont directly get involved, he would have fractured it.
The entire reason behind NATO in the first place is "an attack on one is an attack on all". If NATO as a whole doesnt get involved to help Poland, the pact has ceased to exist and Europe will not be united militarily.
