Used to do ketamine treatments once a month as a depression treatment, 120mg IV still isn’t as intense as a moderate-high dose of dxm, and while it makes you look like a tweaker you can definitely walk off of dxm. So either it was laced or, more likely, the kid either used way too much or had some underlying condition. Just kids being stupid either way.

In my normal life I haven’t had a conversation with someone that openly based trans people or even really being it up in conversation unless it’s interacting with a trans person or someone that goes by different pronouns. Pronouns are just second-person names; "I/me" is first-person, "he/him" is second-person, and "John" is third-person. They're equally part of someone's identity, but third-person names are easier to relate to.

My argument is that you would also correct someone who refers to you with the wrong pronouns, but that situation is probably hard for you to imagine because you've likely never encountered it.

Anyway, if you were given the name "John" at birth but now go by "Jane", someone who refuses to use your she/her pronouns is also not going to call you "Jane".

I can't think anything more distant from my experience from enjoying the concept of body mods. I love my skin as it is, I don't want ink below it, I like my natural hair colour and my ear lobes are fine. I don't want any piercing or earrings either. Plastic surgery most of the time looks like shit to me and thinking about my body being artificially modified kinda creeps me out.

But goddamn people should be free to do their own stuff for fuck's sake. These people "against drugs to kids" will just use that as a starting point to enforce more and more of their selfmade rules on what we should be able to do with our bodies.

The funny thing is it wouldn't even be a new concept in the 1700s. The gender binary was a mid-eighteenth century invention, and it was openly mocked in art of its time, like Mozart operas. Other operas from the same period include "trans" protagonists (raised/socialized not as their sex assigned at birth, though trans wasn't an identity).

People genuinely believed you could become the other sex later in life. Young kings weren't allowed around women after the age of 7 because they were afraid they'd turn into women, and one French queen who was really good at horseback riding had to have regular gynecological exams to make sure she hasn't grown a penis yet.

They didn't have a concept of sexuality because growing up as a male aristocrat, everyone's first experience was sex with men. A regular part of growing up for the aristocracy was going to Italy and sampling the sexual delicacies of both sexes.

All this to say, this wasn't even a 1700s thing. These things weren't pathologized until much later.

Source: am a music theorist, and these parts of culture are very well documented in musicians' diaries, journals, and similar resources from the time.

A lot of the ruining of video games comes from costs going up so you now need a team of 200 instead of 20. That requires actual departments and managers instead of one guy sorting out HR on a friday afternoon. With departments and management comes outside specialists who don't give a shit about the hobby but have qualifications in HR and Finance and need a job etc.

Why are women and/or minorities shoehorned into games? Because gaming is a majority straight, white male hobby and companies are trying to expand their base to extract more profit.
