What's it like to eat after having teeth pulled?

What it's like to eat? You don't really notice the gap when you're chewing, unless you really focus on what you feel where your tooth should have been. Does good get mashed up by your gum? Kinda, yeah. It doesn't mash it on its own like your other teeth don't mash food on their own, it's collective work, hence you not really feeling it unless you really focus on it. You'll only feel a slight discomfort if you try to break very crunchy food down with your gum alone. Do you brush the gum or not? Yes, but only once it's healed. Don't brush a fresh extraction. You should be (gently) brushing your gums anyway, it's part of brushing your teeth. I've had 4 extractions, I've got 4 gaps, I don't feel them much unless I chew a lot of tough or crispy food on the gum, then it will be a bit sore until next day. Otherwise, your mouth will pretty much function the same.
