do people ever just get their ear drums blown out swimming this close to a whale?

There are accounts of people having limbs broken by powerful clicks. I also read about a marine biologist who experienced a deep depression after swimming with sperm whales - possibly related to how overwhelmed they were by the experience and the feeling they would never have it again.

Apparently you can feel the whale ‘reading’ you as the clicks move through your body from head to toe.
