Love Tim Rogers and all his articles

Great article. This situation happened to my great aunt and her sons basically had to tear the door down and threaten violence to get the people out who were taking advantage of her money.

I have to respect the spirit the designed the place. Pity how it is turning out.

Wait people think this house is ugly? It’s the only house in HP I actually like looking at lol
texasinauguststudio@reddit
Same.

My first thought was that this was Action Button's Tim Rogers, and was very confused (but very intrigued) about why a video games journalist (living in Brooklyn iirc) who makes incredibly in-depth video essays would be writing about an eccentric house in Dallas.
Regardless, that was an interesting article.

And welcome back. To real estate.

Same! I thought this was a prelude article to a 15 hour Dallas house review lol

the architect's daughters are trying to get access to him. he's 97 years old, probably is now being taken advantage of by caretakers. they caretakers will not let his daughters see him. can anyone help?

The daughters have started a Facebook page called Justice for Tom Workman.

There exterior used to be so shocking, but now not so much. The interior is still exquisitely hideous. You can’t help but admire the effort it must have taken to craft that kind of ugly. It’s impressive.

I personally don't care for this house at all but I would be lying if I said I wasn't envious and almost respecting of someone one with enough money to build it on one of the most desirable pieces of land in highland park just saying, fuck it, I want to live in this ungodly expensive, "ugly" home.
argonautserious@reddit
No matter how you feel about this house, it’s disgusting that Clay Cooley of all people will be the one to tear it down.

This was a phenomenal read

I now want to read this book he mentioned. I heard that the original plan for the roof involved thatch but HP ordinances don't allow that. I'm curious if that's true!

I actually love this house. I hope someone can dive deeper and see what is actually going on. None of this sounds right.
Babadook_Slayer@reddit
I cracked up when I read “I contacted him first, and I contacted him last, but either way, I did not hear back from Clay.”

A tragic story. Sounds like he’s being taken advantage of…
MadScallop@reddit
How much does a roof replacement for this house cost? 😳
10Core56@reddit
If we have to ask, we can't afford it...
