Bout time

More chemistry, more chemists, more manufacturing, all great things! Any idea where they will put it?
CityCareless@reddit
The chemists have been deported. Jk.
unbreakablekango@reddit
Not that untrue, a lot of chemists, especially on the east coast, are from either India, China, or central Europe. Not all of them, but certainly some of them are worried about their immigration status.
CityCareless@reddit
Yeah. I wrote Jk so I didn’t get yelled at, agree on all counts.

Yeah it looks like it will be in USAntibiotic's Bristol, Tennessee plant.

Pre insurance price this last week was quoted from CVS as $211, GoodRx down to $65, my doc said it should be about $9
NoTerm3078@reddit (OP)
Yeah $9 is closer to correct, those prices are crazy!

I don’t wanna be that guy. I have to be though. The precursors also need to be made here. Otherwise we are still reliant on China selling them to us. I believe they’re the only option for many, with India being a second source.
WodehouseWeatherwax@reddit
I dont think we should be dependent on anyone, especially China, India, or Russia, ffs!
Who thought that was a good idea? What could possibly go wrong?/s. Maybe next week could move to sourcing our critical tech from N. Korea. Im sure it'll be fine. Some asshat made money off these deals at the expense of our safety and security. Disgusting.
WodehouseWeatherwax@reddit
This is a national security issue. We should never have been dependent on anyone else to produce our medications. And there really should be more than one FDA approved sterile saline manufacturing site in the US. One that doesn't go down when hit by a hurricane. This is utterly ridiculous and long past time it was remedied. TLDR: Duh!

This is a great start. We need several common routine generic drugs manufactured in our own country.
CavitySearch@reddit
This should’ve been happening for a while. Some things are above profits. We need essential supplies and medicines made locally even if increased subsidies are required.
