ULPT: Bought an Apple Watch Ultra 2 that was marked as lost and refunded by Apple. Days later, the watch was delivered. I already received the refund.

Should I return this to Apple?
Is there a chance it could suddenly be locked since it was reported as stolen?
Ok_Establishment4624@reddit
Under an nda with several companies so take it as u want
The company I worked shipping investigations for will tag your email, meaning there will be a flare next to your email saying you're a sneeky little guy lol basically resulting in you getting your refund denied if you'd buy sth and it'd happen to get lost again. if you're a little fox, you'll make sure to use a different email with the next order. Now idk how apple would go about it :p but I kinda believe they'd go about it exactly as the company I worked for...

Apple may or may not brick it they probably will

Sweet enjoy the free watch

Apple will block the device. It wont activate. Better return it
Jackol4ntrn@reddit
Just try it out. Worse case it gets locked and you call Snapple and say “oh yeah sorry it arrived and I forgot”
Competitive_Unit_721@reddit
It’s 2025. Apple pretty easily knows if a “lost device” is activated. Especially by the person who claims it was lost.
Will anything likely happen other than the device is locked? Doubtful, but dumb to do so. I guess you can sell it and scam someone else. Doesn’t sound like that’s an issue for you if posting on here.

Naw, I….know someone…. Who stole some AirPod maxs from Walmart a couple years ago and they still work great… is what they told me…

Apple should have to prove that something was stolen, and get a cover order to remotely shut down electronics.
This is a lost device, still perfectly functional if found. Shouldn't become e-waste.
SXTY82@reddit
Apple should remote lock it and unlock it if it is brought into the store. It is their property and they can do with it as they please.

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. You’re 100% correct.
DeviantBoi@reddit
If you value your Apple account, I’d probably wouldn’t risk it.

Why? It was approved by the mods.

I was suggesting that you remove this evidence of you having received two watches, so that you can keep both for yourself or sell one of them to recuperate some of the money spent.
But now you'll just have to return one of them, I suppose ..........
Prodigle@reddit
It was a joke about how Apple will come for you now. Genuinely though OP I'd just count your blessings and leave it as is. It's not a dent to Amazon or Apple, and they won't care or chase you about it
tkchumly@reddit
I know this is ULPT but you could try calling them to tell them. I had something similar happen. Walmart accidentally didn’t mark 2 iPhone 12’s as delivered so then they assumed that they were lost which then automatically refunded my card. I called them and told them they were delivered and I recorded their customer support telling me they were now a gift and I could do whatever I wanted with them.
johntrabusca@reddit
Amazon won’t do anything about it, resell or use it
cyberchief@reddit
OP didn’t buy it from Amazon.
OperatorJo_@reddit
Won't be able to be used on a data line.
Bluetooth though, not sure.
Apple locks the device imei.
Buck_Slamchest@reddit
Sell it and give that problem to someone else
