I’ve ridden it! Worth it 100%. The whole Space Needle Complex is awesome and Pikes Place is nearby

I spent most of my life not knowing that the monorail just has plain ol' rubber tires to keep it running on that track

Back in 2002/2003-ish I used to work at the Seattle Center when it was called "Center House", and my walking route went right under the monorail track at Broad and Thomas.
One of those tires blew as the Monorail passed over me, just as I stepped onto the sidewalk from Broad.
Those who know the feeling of trying to "will" yourself deeper into the earth when deafening, scary shit is happening all around you, can relate.
Still, I love the monorail. A short trip, but always makes me smile whenever I hop on.

Monorail..! \ Monorail…! \ Monorail….! \ I hear those things are awfully loud \ It glides as softly as a cloud \ Is there a chance the track could bend? \ Not on your life, my Hindu friend! \ What about us brain-dead slobs? \ You'll be given cushy jobs! \ I swear it's Springfield's only choice, \ Throw up your hands and raise your voice! \ Monorail..! \ What's it called? \ Monorail…! \ Once again! \ Monorail….!! \ But Main Street's still all cracked and broken? \ Sorry, Mom, the mob has spoken! \ Monorail…..!!!

As a Seattleite, it's funny to see this city landmark considered "weird".
