Despite women finding him as a creep (even though Butthead's a bigger creep) deep down Beavis is a pretty decent and well-meaning person.

I feel like beavis in the older episodes was just as bad as butthead. The newer episodes it seems like beavis has a conscience at times and even understands that butthead is an ass but he’s codependent
AdImmediate6239@reddit
Even in the older episodes it’s suggested that Beavis be would be better off without Butthead. In “It’s a Miserable Life” we see that he’d be volunteering at a homeless shelter with Stewart if Butthead didn’t exist.
Background_Yam9524@reddit
Good point. I was going to bring this up, too.
Johnnnythehobo@reddit
It’s strange that they portray beavis that way in that episode mainly because I’m certain that his parents being shitty would have still pushed him to be a terrible person but maybe he rises up from that.
JayyyyyBoogie@reddit
In fairness, Beavis' mom is a massive slut.
Parking_Brother_3994@reddit
We once tried to founded Beavis' father
new2bay@reddit
Uh huh huh huh, Beavis’s mom is a slut. Sluts are cool, uh huh huh huh, huh huh huh.
AdImmediate6239@reddit
His parents seem more absent from his life than anything so I guess he would have been around Stewart and his parents would have served as a father and mother figure to him.
uscarbinecal30m1@reddit
Are you saying he would have eventually learned to like breakfast burritos? Even with eggs in them?
AdImmediate6239@reddit
No wonder Stewart has diarrhea
Johnnnythehobo@reddit
That makes sense
timanny@reddit
Beavis is/was bad but in a different way. He's more childish and destructive, specifically with his love of fire. Butthead is hornier and his life's mission is literally just to score. Beavis wants to score too, but isn't hyperfocused on it like Butthead is. Beavis is "creepy" because he's a weird spaz and (at least in the very beginning) a budding pyromaniac, where Butthead is straight up lecherous. If Beavis and Butthead ever wandered into Quahog, Butthead would follow Quagmire around like a puppy, wanting to learn his ways.
JDanzy@reddit
Also: REPULSIVE personal habits with Beavis. Nice kid most of the time, he can poop in the tub/stomp it down the drain/wash his feet in the toilet in his own bathroom, thanks lol
Comfortable_Pack8903@reddit

Beavis has definitely evolved! He also looks like Sean Penn
DeSiGNer-OctANE@reddit
We now live in a world of Beavis, Steve-O, and Mike Tyson being a voice of reason. Evolution baby.
ItsaPostageStampede@reddit
That conscience? 🔥
BadMan125ty@reddit
Y’all weren’t around for early Beavis and it shows. 😂

JDanzy@reddit
Beavis seemed to kick his nicotine addiction pretty easily---half the videos in those early ones showed him lighting a cigarette.
Dead_Scarecrow@reddit
Yep.
Beavis was just as ''bad/awful'' as Butt-Head in the older seasons.
One of the episodes that comes to mind is ''Close Encounters'' from Season 5. There are a lot more.
It gets really tiresome that people keep saying that Butt-Head is the ''bad guy'' and Beavis the ''good one'', it just shows they've only watched the newer seasons wich the writers for some reason made him (Beavis) a ''good kid''.
THX-1138_4EB@reddit
Dude, season 6 episode 8. It's just one season later than your reference, and shows that Beavis otherwise being a 'good kid' is actually canon.
Dead_Scarecrow@reddit
Yeah, In a universe where Butt-Head NEVER EXISTS.
Then the show wouldn't exist as well.
Another thing is, we don't actually know if Charlie was manipulating Butt-Head and showing a reality that isn't even real/posible. Even if it was all real, all that nonsense about Butt-Head being an influence is crap, he just said ONE word (Bunghole) and Beavis already showed signs of returning to ''normal'' in that same episode.
BadMan125ty@reddit
Yeah this discourse is just frustrating 😆

Ignoring the fact he's a pyromaniac, he's a good person (now at least)
Technical-Skirt806@reddit
Agreed. Good guy, even in his later years. Hell I'd invite him to the BBQ. Beavis is kinda cute when he gets enthusiastic about shit, while every incarnation of Butthead (Smart Butthead, Middle-aged Butthead, and OG Butthead, respectfully) are the kind of people who should have been swallowed.

shevy-java@reddit
Yeah - Butthead's influence makes Beavis worse. He is quite a tragic figure in this regard. Although this also changes form episode to episode, so I am not saying Beavis is an angel without Butthead. In one episode, Beavis finds an improved Butthead, but ends up disliking that guy. So it is a bit of a mixed bag really.
wheatmuncher4000@reddit
For being so stupid, Beavis and Butthead make very interesting character studies.
CarpenterVegetables@reddit
I think I'm going to make my life's work a 100,000 word essay on the humanization of Beavis in the later seasons

Goukaruma@reddit
He is just mentally challenged and a bit of a pyromaniac. Butthead is actually mean (but also not very smart).
Feisty_Affect_7487@reddit
I prefer him to Butthead. He does the more funnier things
dipatello@reddit
Hey, how’s it goin
histbuff0@reddit
I've always kind of seen him as a less behaved Butters Stotch. Peer pressure from the more dominant kid (Butthead/Cartman) is often what gets Beavis/Butters in trouble. Butters is innocent but easily pursuadable, most likely due to being sheltered by his messed-up parents, so he seeks acceptance through doing whatever Cartman wants. Beavis is just a dumb ass sub.
Venice_man_@reddit
I think Butthead is the same,
Electronic-Regret484@reddit
Yeah, he is a sociopath, but people often overlook the fact that people who become sociopaths or narcissists are victims of severe childhood abuse. Yes, Butthead is a mean-spirited jerk with an over-inflated ego, but his sociopathy would imply that it’s likely a more a nurture thing than entirely his nature. Nice Butthead is possibly what he could’ve been like had he not gone through whatever abuse his mom put him through.
Venice_man_@reddit
Ofc. Totally agree, anyway what i meant is, butthead is very similar to beavis, he is a jerk but he never means it.
Electronic-Regret484@reddit
Eh, yes and no. Let’s not pretend that women’s lack of fondness for him is completely unjustified. He’s no perfect little angel. Yeah, in newer episodes, he does generally mean well, but let’s not forget he’s still a creeper and pervert with no sense of self-control. And his “well-meaning” nature is what indirectly kills Butthead in the new Heart Attack episode. (While, yes, Butthead did “have it coming”, Beavis did not mean to kill him. He was genuinely trying to help. His incompetence is what ultimately led to Butthead’s death.)
Beavis’ Achilles Heel is his lack of intellect and toxic codependency issues. He can’t really function without someone to attach himself to. And he’ll generally take interest in very toxic people (Todd and Butthead namely). He really only became a better in the Christmas special’s little pocket alternate universe because he latched himself to Stewart instead. Even then, he still ended up taking a liking to Butthead (who would’ve been a complete stranger to him).
So, would I say he’s a good person? No. Is he a bad guy? I would also say no. He’s a flawed person. He tries to be good, but he’s not smart enough to see or reflect on his faults and the kind of people he’s around (Butthead namely) either can’t or won’t help him through his issues. So, weirdly enough, this silly little toon is sort of real in an odd way. (At least if you’re like me and like taking silly nonsense too seriously.)
WallyGamer32@reddit
Yeah. In one of the older seasons we saw what Beavis became if Butt-Head wasn't in his life and how different he was if he was surrounded by other people like Stewart.
MechanicalTurkish@reddit
“You’re moved. Uh-huh-huh-huh”
“Shut up, Butt-Head!”
HoldenOrihara@reddit
I think with teen Beavis older women tended to see him less as a creep and more as a child, like in "Do America" or one of their games where a prison guard will treat Butthead like a creep but Beavis like a lost child.
DaddieTang@reddit
Hey, how's it going? Mmmheh
SpawnSC2@reddit
I still say this nearly every day.

That showed this in the Christmas episode parodying It's a Wonderful Life called It's a Miserable Life. Showed life without Butthead being born. Beavis hangs out with Stuart and is a nice person and even volunteers at a homeless shelter

He still had dormant Beavis tendencies though.

Well, maybe now at least and definitely when Butthead isn’t around. But back in the day, he was definitely as bad as Butthead.
