What type of spider is this?

I’m assuming the second one is a daddy long legs, but the first one I’m wondering if it’s a faux/false widow? I’ve not killed any because I believe they kill pests but still, what is this?

Those false widows are nasty buggers...I've seen a couple of nasty swolen bites from those. I live in Ipswich and they are taking over here. They don't eat pests as much as they eat our own native spiders. They are an invasive species so whenever I see one im afraid to say...it gets dead!

Honestly i have arachnophobia and i used to leave them thinking they kill pests until they became the pests. I kill them whenever I see them now.

Oh shit, there was a false widow in my bed yesterday morning, didn't realise until I got out and pulled the duvet back to air the bed. Seems I was lucky not to get bitten! Trapped it and let it out into the garden, I had a feeling I didn't want it to stay..

First is a false widow, tons of them live around my house and as an arachnophobe it’s a nightmare when I see one inside

Do you kill them?
Toast-Bee@reddit
Straight to the hoover, I’ve had one bite my hand and I still have a scar where the blister formed

Shit

My sister had the same, ankle swelled like a balloon, and took weeks to settle down. Still has a small ankle scar from the bite

Australian

Or not... False widow spiders, particularly Steatoda nobilis, originate from the Canary Islands and Madeira.
The redback is the Australian spider in the "true" widow spider family.

What?

The first is definitely a false widow. A friend became quite unwell and needed plastic surgery on the bite she received from one in our garden. I’m very wary these days. They’re everywhere here and I like spiders too, not those ones though anymore.
Second is a harvestman, often called a daddy long legs, although a daddy long legs is more commonly used as the alternative name for a crane fly.

Oh I absolutely am terrified by spiders, I let them be for pest control

Thats a false widow

Ah shit

The second one is definitely a cellar spider, also known as a daddy long legs* spider. It’s not a harvestman as they only have a single body segment, whereas spiders have two body segments.
*Not to be confused with the other kind of daddy long legs which is the nickname for a crane fly and has wings and only six legs.

The second is either a harvestman or cellar spider, they have many names. Not to be confused with the crane fly, which are also called daddy long legs.
