Indiana Jones vs. The Mummy

I was watching the movie The Mummy with my Dad who said it was too much like Indiana Jones. Thoughts? If so, who would represent Indy the best? Rick or Evie?

I mean that's why I liked it. I wanted more Indiana Jones style movies but they weren't as popular when we were kids.

The Mummy is very much that Indiana Jones. That’s one of the reasons I liked it so much. That being said, Indiana Jones is waaaay better. Crystal Skull doesn’t count, btw

There was a video essay I watched a while ago where they called the Mummy the next Indiana Jones movie. Lots of good points.

Indiana Jones is essentially Rick with Evie’s book smarts. But what your Dad meant was that Rick is Indy and Evie is whichever love interest he has in that particular film.
