Who here supported Tulsi in 2020 and would do so again in ‘28?

I’d consider her, but I want to see who she’s up against. She definitely has no chance against Vance, but she’s someone I would trust with our foreign policy over Vance. Not that we should trust any politician for anything.
WashedMasses@reddit
She was 100% my choice for Democratic nominee, but the boomers that still control the party wanted her destroyed, so they started in with the whole Russia smear and forced her out. I would love to see her run for office again one day.

Currently, the democratic party have no identity. lol What do they stand for right now aside from criminals? What policies do they run on aside from supporting socialism and communists? AOC, Mamdani? Anti-small businesses? Government bloat and overspending? / inflation? Open borders?
As a Californian, it's a great example of how many families and businesses Newsom drove out of the state, big and small. Those businesses were a huge part in subsidizing the programs that we had in California.
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
i would instantly take "no identity" over pedophiles, grifters, and alt-right fandoms. the democrats, so pathetic and weak, but still... yuck. wtf happened to this country?
lTheElementalFlowl@reddit
I mean Bill Clinton has ties to Epstein, but they're somehow not questioning them. Also CNN tried to turn Epstein survivors on Trump, but they vouched and said that Trump saved them from Epstein and he was the one who authorized the investigation into Epstein in the first place.
I also don't know how our courts were able to let P Diddy go.
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
clinton says they should go for it and open the investigation into everything. Bill is 100% confident that he didnt do anything illegal (just immoral), which is either profoundly forgetful or truthful. I was surprised, but actually, maybe he doesnt strike me as a pedo, just a lech.

If Trump was guilty, Biden should've released those files, but they didn't. The courts were supposed to be apolitical, but they labeled misdemeanors as felonies, yet in California, Gavin has bailess catch and release while also closing down prisons in California when we need more. The democrats pretty much took a page off Putin and went after their political opponents like they did with RFK and Tulsi.
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
biden couldnt. it was not legal for him to do. i dont know what youre talking about labling misdemeanors as felonies, thats not for a judge but a district attorney to do, then a judge can hear the case and decide if the charge is valid, then a jury gets to decide...youre just talking out your ass here. And what it has to do with california and gavin newsom is a stretch in logic, but as far as i know neither tulsi nor rfk are charged with anything. youre not making any sense.

You know RFK was getting removed in some states because the democrats were using lawfare right? I guess you haven't been following the trials or the cases as well. They're not supposed to, but they used lawfare vs Trump which was why the American people defended him on it. An NY judge in the trial boasted about overturning verdicts based on his emotions.

You can't make this up. lmao "Juries get things wrong a lot" - Arthur Engoron.
Came out of his own mouth, and it's very unethical.
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
RFK should have been removed. he was a blatant fraud, just like trump.

Well, you might say the Dems have no identity. What about the Republicans? The Republican base is furious about Epstein files scandal, Trump going overboard with tariffs, no wall built yet with Mexico paying for it, Russia-Ukraine war still ongoing, Iranian nuclear sites bombed on behalf of Israel, funding and supporting Israel as they continue genocide in Gaza.
I don’t dispute that Newsom has run California into the ground because he had this big 10-year plan to tackle homelessness as SF mayor which failed miserably. And now look at what he’s accomplished as governor: nothing. On the national level, Republicans are not setting themselves up for success in ‘26 and ‘28
lTheElementalFlowl@reddit
You know Biden had access to the Epstein files and yet did nothing about it. At least with Trump, the case is in the spotlight again. While I disagree with the handling of it, that isn't what is truly important. What's really important is we do something about the overspending and inflation from the previous administration.
I honestly don't think he's going overboard with tariffs. Canada had 250-300% tariffs on U.S. diary products while Biden was in office. Also Biden may have signed the Chips act, but he never enforced it. Another thing Biden did was keep Trump's tariffs. As someone who studied economics, there's a difference between ideology and reality in practice when it comes to tariffs.
There are multiple factors that involves in tariffs working and failing. Why Trump makes it work is because he uses it as leverage for negotiations. Tariffs only work if you're able to make deals happen in which Biden didn't and let China walk all over the U.S. in those agreements.
You're also being nit-picky about Mexico paying for the wall. I'm the son of an immigrant who came to the U.S. legally. What's more expensive than Mexico paying for the wall is actually having open borders and American tax dollars paying subsidies for illegal immigrants when that money should be going to Americans who are struggling.
I'm pretty much anti-Israel currently, and don't agree with all of their policies, but you know Newsom's mismanaged the high-speed rail program which I support because California desperately needs alternative transportation. We can't continually keep expanding our freeways.
On a national level, you might say that republicans are not setting themselves up for success, but neither are the democrats. The democratic party needs a serious reform, and it's hard for that party to reform when they oust anyone who don't fall in line with them. Look at what they did to Tulsi or RFK. The democrats of the JFK generation, used to be anti-censorship, strong on freedom of speech, and anti-big corporation, but with Obama, he set race relations back. Another issue the democratic party has currently is they focus too hard on the cultural war instead of policies that affect everyday American lives.
Bernie and Elizabeth Warren are great examples of falling inline with the democratic party and accepting money from big pharma atm. They went back against their own policies and made millions. Another issue right now is that democrats need to work together with republicans on issues they agree with because the current admin does have some left-policies that they should be supporting and not bashing on. Addressing the sustainability of social security is a win for the American people. Addressing crime and our national debt is another win for the American people whether you are left or right.
On the Russia-Ukraine war, it's complicated, but at least there are dialogues that are happening which didn't with Biden. Another thing was Trump called out the Europeans. If they want the war to end, why is Europe supporting Russia by buying energy from Russia? It makes no sense.
Also all of the mainstream and fear-mongering MSM said tariffs would increase inflation were wrong. We're more than half a year later and it's been the same, and they said that the tariffs would go towards addressing our national debt which I agree on because if democrats tackled that issue, it wouldn't be a problem. Both sides needs to tackle that problem otherwise our kids would be paying for it.
I believe in the American dream and innovation. Newsom's put so much red-tape in California that makes it hard for small and big businesses to operate, and the ironic part is that most of those companies have moved over to red states. 10 counties in California flipped red because of Newsom. I really don't get how California legalized crime with stealing under $950 not being a felony. The catch and release and the closing of prisons in California as well as defunding the police is crazy. It's gotten pretty bad where in some areas, you actually see signs like in Newport Beach where law enforcement is looking to hire because there's such a shortage of patrol officers in the area. California currently has one of the highest homeless and unemployment rate. It was not like this in the 90s or 2000s.
catchingtherosemary@reddit
Absolutely. She's the same person. She never has fit into a box and she never will. She's exactly what our country needs and it's sad that her own supporters don't stand behind her when she plays the politics game the right way.
VrindavanNidhivan@reddit
Country before party.
catchingtherosemary@reddit
Yes exactly! Tulsi puts country before party. She didn't mind collaborating with Democrats or Republicans she never has.
Distinct-Excuse-7851@reddit
Not anymore. She compromised on her principles to go with the “anti war” president, who has since then only made wars worse or randomly provoked allies.
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
you make it sound like she thought it out. she's just reading the cue cards, playing a role now. total sellout.
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
oh lord, no. not anymore.
Miserable-Bit5939@reddit (OP)
I don’t blame you. I didn’t see her going from progressive Democrat to MAGA Republican. I think she was better off as an Independent and not run for office ever again
plsobeytrafficlights@reddit
even as a conservative, she could have really been something, but she became a sellout. just absolutely gross and disappointing- and thats really all that needs to be said about her.
NoImNotStaringAtYour@reddit
I used to like her but then I realized she's actually pro war and very willing to sacrifice principals for political gain so it's going to be a no from me.
Miserable-Bit5939@reddit (OP)
It’s her reversal on our involvement in Yemen, her support for Israel and her lack of pushback against Trump’s Iran policy that has soured my opinion on her lately. I think your assessment of her is valid
rundabrun@reddit
I still feel bad about getting my friend to vote for her in 2020.
