People who are/have been rude to retail workers, have you got any stories where you went back and apologised?

I work in retail, specifically I work in Greggs. I get a bit of rudeness and occasional abuse, I have been sworn at over a cold sausage roll before and all sorts. In general it’s accepted in retail that customers will be rude. So, for those who are/have been rude to retail workers (and will admit it), have you got any stories where you went back? Apologised? Etc. Also a side question- again for those who admit it, why are you rude to us? I feel like we get treated differently to workers elsewhere, and I’m interested in the psychology behind it.
