What are good bars to socialize and meet new people at?

I'm 26. I wanna meet new people and socialize (looking for people in their mid-20's to early 30's) so I was thinking of going out to bars alone tonight, but which ones are good to meet others at around dallas? I was thinking of hitting up Double D's, but any other suggestions? It's really hard to talk to people at certain bars so I wanna get a good list

Any type of dive bar style… Milo’s, Time out tavern, Inwood Tavern, old crow, cosmos, Lakewood landing… good luck

Do you know if double d's is any good?
mike_lowrey214@reddit
Loud and crowded, not the right spot to meet people.

Im honestly thinking of hitting up round up..
sharknado523@reddit
Are you gay? That bar is smack dab in the middle of the Gayborhood.
sluttyav0cado@reddit (OP)
Nah im a straight girl lmao (I know it's the gayborhood), but ya I didnt like it. Thought it'd be a lil more classy like greenville
admiralfrosting@reddit
The Ivy is solid.

I went maybe two years ago and it was nice but the last time I went it was overtly crowded.

double d’s is great i got regularly, i recommend getting there @ 9:00 - 9:30 on the weekends bc the line starts to fill up around 10. you can meet people at the pool table lol

Solid. Gets slammed.

Never been, sorry.

Old crow is cool on Wednesdays, they have karaoke night

Imo going on the weekend is the worst time to go. During the week its quiet and you can actually talk to people without having to scream over music
Udyrrr@reddit
Old crow on Greenville, had karaoke on Wednesdays and thursdays and down the street is double wide which I’ve met and made some cool friends over there. Logies in Addison is also pretty cool to talk to people.

BreakfastMedical5164@reddit
it's hit or miss, but works as advertised/people actually participate
-transcendent-@reddit
How so with the hit or miss? As in the matches don't always work or people lied in the questionnaire?
BreakfastMedical5164@reddit
just my opinion: the experience matches you with like minded people. to me, spending money to meet others who think very similarly to me is a plus-minus -- part of life is learning from new perspectives. often it's just very "safe", which is great if that's what's you're looking for, but paying just to hang out with 5 slightly different versions of your questionnaire and knowing that beforehand made it less attractive to me
sluttyav0cado@reddit (OP)
I think they make you pay so people dont back out
BreakfastMedical5164@reddit
ive gone to 4 and yeah you pay in advance :-)
-transcendent-@reddit
Yeah I get that it's definitely trying to be more formal for a first meet. Who were the matches? Do they only match like-minded or sprinkled in some randomness? I couldn't imagine putting all rated-10 introverts and no one talks lol.
BreakfastMedical5164@reddit
thats exactly what could happen lol
Aquabaybe@reddit
I’ve done it twice - first group, we all still hang out often. Second, I only keep in touch with one person out of the 5 that came.

I personally love love love Twilite Lounge. Thursdays is karaoke and they have a good vibe going, usually really good singers.
TachiPachimari@reddit
Water Hole in Hurst is always a peak choice. Its chill and they have plenty of pool tables of that's your thing! Karaoke on Saturdays. Caves in Euless is also a good hang out spot!

How chatty are you when you’re sitting at the bar? Sometimes I think that’s the bigger hurdle, not the location. For background, I love talking to people at bars and do it pretty often. Still, starting a real conversation can be tough. I’ll even go so far as to ask what someone’s looking at on their phone, then follow it up with pointed questions about their personal life. When people roll with that style of banter, those end up being my most fun bar memories. You actually leave feeling like you know someone, compared to sticking with surface-level stuff like sports.

I tried this with a dude a few weeks ago at Shakertinis and he moved his pupils to the side to glance at me, made a meangirl frown, and then went back to looking at his phone
AlphaH4wk@reddit
Maybe you interrupted his fetish porn watching
ibeenbit@reddit
Na. A couple minutes later one of the bartenders walked out the door, put her arm on his neck and they made out on the seat (right next to me ofc) grabbing all on each other and then walked out the place
sugamantha@reddit
Happens! I’d say I’m only successful in striking up conversation about half the time. Don’t let meangirl, pupil man get you down!!
sluttyav0cado@reddit (OP)
I'll try!! Asking what they're doing on their phone sounds like a good move
sluttyav0cado@reddit (OP)
I guess I wait for people to come talk to me..
Broad_Mushroom_8033@reddit
Are you a woman? If not you'll probably have to talk to people first.
Old_Marionberry_9312@reddit
I can go with you bro I’m 22 never really went to bar I need level up social skills up
ImpossibleA318@reddit
This is the answer!

Double D’s is kind of a nightclub/lounge. I don’t think you will find too many people that go there by themselves. That’s been my experience with it. Before moving downtown, I lived in the Design District for 10 years. I would definitely suggest more of a relaxed place.
sluttyav0cado@reddit (OP)
What about round up? My coworker suggested that and said you can socialize there
ChicagoRay312@reddit
That would definitely be a better vibe for socializing. It’s a gay bar in the Oak Lawn neighborhood.

I heard!! Awesome

I always end up in conversation with someone I don’t know at Double Wide. It depends on the night, if they have a DJ it can get loud in the main bar but the patio is pretty conversation friendly.

I’d recommend going at like 5-7 pm to catch an older crowd that’s socializing together down Henderson Ave.
reddit_still_psyop@reddit
bring a pack of marlboros and youll meet people who wanna bum a cig
TexasReallyDoesSuck@reddit
go to SOVA to get a nice cheaper drink then go across the street to Gingers, cuz theyll be busy as hell for sure, and they're good and have great bartenders
