FWIW, irrespective of being a hole-in-the-wall or not, dallas strangely has great Thai food (I was told there was some large Thai immigration like 20 years ago… I never researched to confirm it)
A few places I really like:
-Asian mint
-bangkok
-Royal Thai
-si lom
-ka thai
-ka tip

Crazy I dont remember growing up with a single Thai in Plano
MaceWandru@reddit
+1 for Si Lom. Their Pad Kee Mow and Kao Soi are tops.
IllustriousDay5869@reddit
Bangkok city is probably the answer.
AwHellNawFetaCheese@reddit
Oh Bryan, not Greenville
ForzaFenix@reddit
The Greenville one recently closed. I was there all the time.
Heyheyjackee@reddit
Bangkok City on Bryan

You’re not gonna do better than this. Used to live across the street, went there so much they would notice when I got haircuts lol

I feel your username deep in my soul.

Panang Curry!!!!!! So. Good.

This!
gdsc@reddit
Ka Thai maybe. If you want spicy you have to speak up.
helic_vet@reddit
Their Roti Canai is the bomb!
SnooStories5035@reddit
Do they serve other Malaysia food?
helic_vet@reddit
I am not too familiar with Malaysian food and didn't know Roti Canai was Malaysian until I googled it lol. From what I remember seeing of the rest of their menu, it seemed like what you would expect in a Thai restaurant.
Alcophile@reddit
Roti Canai is very much a Thai food now, just as there are very few things more American than tacos. Southern Thailand is full of Malays and roti canai is easy to find in Bangkok etc.
Would you be surprised to hear chicken satay is Indonesian?

>Would you be surprised to hear chicken satay is Indonesian?
Oh my
Alcophile@reddit
And there are different kinds, including one from Bali that's made with ground chicken. Its like a tiny little spicy chicken burger on a stick!
SnooStories5035@reddit
Nice, I love that dish. I’ll need to stop by there.
gdsc@reddit
YES
TakeATrainOrBusFFS@reddit
Ka Thai is great, but I wouldn't call it hole-in-the-wall. It's pretty upscale.
gdsc@reddit
It’s Dallas what can you do
TakeATrainOrBusFFS@reddit
You go to Bangkok Dee if you want hole-in-the-wall. 😉

They need a good colon blow before work fucks them the following week.
arlenroy@reddit
Good ol' fashioned colon blow, just like how mom used to make. Evacuation of the innards, first thing in the morning, leaves you feeling light and frisky.
Wholenchilada@reddit
"extra spicy, please"
aggierogue3@reddit
Thai opal. Best kao soi I’ve had in Dallas
Unpetits@reddit
Khao Horm off Inwood is very very good. Their Khao Soi is amazing. Any of their curries are some of the most consistently great I’ve had in Dallas.
Lobito6@reddit
Si Lom
dchow1989@reddit
Thai monkey (irving location), best drunken noodles, and all the curries are great, they’ve made it hot enough for me a handful of times, but 80% of the time I don’t think they believe me when I say I want 5 spicy. That’s my only qualm.
spacedman_spiff@reddit
No mentions of Sakhuu and that’s a shame. Good Thai/Lao food. They let you add crispy pork belly to all their dishes!
aceu2021@reddit
Si Lom!!! An underrated gem.
407gator@reddit
Thai Lotus in Oak Lawn is really good.
tolo4daboys@reddit
Lunch specials are great too!

Thanks for sharing. I am going to try them out.

Agree. Very good.
