General question for police investigation

A few weeks ago I had an incident near my house, I got footage of the incident. The police came and asked for my contact info so I could give them the footage. Someone tried to contact me and I called back but it's been like 2 weeks now and no call back(I left a voicemail). Anywhere i can send the footage to the dallas police. Like an email or website?

You should post the footage. And tell what you saw.

Don’t bother. They likely won’t even watch it. They called you so they could log the call, not because they care about solving anything. They’re not in the business of righting wrongs, they just make reports for insurance claims.

It’s not up to patrol officers to solve the case. When they submit the report, it gets routed to the correct type of Detective, then it’s up to the Detective to determine whether or not it’s going to be investigated. They should’ve generated a case number for insurance purposes as well.

Did they generate a case number? If so, you should receive a call from a Detective within a week or so, given the city. It does take a while for detectives to get in touch with you.
What they should’ve done is a community request, sending you a link so you can upload your footage to their evidence portal.

Don't give then your phone, they will just lose it.
If they haven't returned your call it means they've stopped investigating. They're good for getting the report number for your insurance but don't expect them to actually arrest anyone.
I would call one more time. Maybe they'll call you back. Likely not. They were no help when I got robbed and assaulted. Especially skip the DPD victim services unit, huge waste of time. There's just a social worker reading from a PowerPoint about trauma behind that door.

Don't give them your phone. Download the content and send it to them. Or if you're smart and can afford it use a lawyer. Even if you aren't involved you want to cover your ass, because they don't care.

Save the footage. The detective(s) already have everything they need or will contact you in the future. I had the sound of a murder happening on my Nest Camera and it took over a year for them to call me and ask for it.
